Located in the heart of Scottsdale, Rumors Salon has been delivering stunning looks for over 30 years. Our expert stylists showcase their skill in a wide array of salon services ranging from men's and women's cuts and color to specialty services like professional hair extensions, natural keratin smoothing treatments, and permanent wave services.
Our Scottsdale salon is filled with talented, friendly stylists who are highly skilled in their craft. Rumors focuses on education year-round to ensure that our stylists stay on top of the latest techniques and trends. Our training team includes educators from Kevin. Murphy, UNITE Eurotherapy as well as Wella Certified Master Colorists.
Rumors New Talent team consists of licensed professionals advancing their careers through the Rumors Apprentice Training Program. These stylists attend weekly education and get approved to perform certain services at a discounted rate to our guests. Sandra became a stylist to boost people's confidence.
Because hair, metals, and chemical residue cannot be treated by most municipalities, salon waste can end up in our landfills and waterways. At Rumors, we divert 95% of our waste so it is properly recycled and then repurposed. Eco-friendly salons like ours recycle hair clippings for hair booms, which are used in construction, agriculture, and industrial spill cleanup.

Frequent client here, the girls are great however my hair is not holding color well. I had a beautiful glaze put on that should have lasted a couple months and washed out immediately after a few shampoos. I went back in for a permanent dye hoping that would last much longer than the glaze and again it washed out within the same week. I called asking for a partial refund and included pics and they were only able to offer another color process (toner). After two times and paying over $200 in the same month I declined. If my hair would not hold a glaze or permanent dye likely it will not hold a toner

I had such an amazing experience with Daniel!! He really took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and gave great input/ advice. He’s also so funny and easy to talk to which made the appointment that much better. He really took his time and my hair came out perfect. Definitely recommend Daniel for a balayage or anything else you need done!

I went to rumors for the first time and had Vivianne.
I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted but had pictures and she walked me through the steps of how to get there. She explained what she was doing and asked questions along the way to make sure it was what I wanted. I’m so happy with how my hair turned out she did such a great job! Will definitely be back.

Booked an appointment for highlights while passing through on a road trip. It is always a little nerve wrecking going to a salon for the first time, but Sam did the most amazing job on my hair! I have been going to Shannon at Rumors Salon for over 4 years. She always listens to my comments on how I wish to have my hair styled. The results have always been great. They have recently updated the interior of the entire salon. It is bright and relaxing. The entire staff is warm and friendly.

Today I had a fantastic experience with Vivianne. While I came in very nervous because I've only been seeing one stylist for almost 15 years, I was put at ease by how Vivianne listened and reviewed the information I came in with about the cut and color I've been getting for so long. The color was immediately spot on even though the products are different. It was also calming that she was easy to chat with and kept checking in with me about how I was liking the progress. This was not a short drive but worth every minute to get there and have such a wonderful result.

I had a phenomenal experience with Becky at Rumors Salon! She not only listened to my wants and issues with my hair but enthusiastically offered expertise, insight and styling tips. I got exactly the cut I wanted and enjoyed talking with her while she worked. The front desk and all the staff were friendly, welcoming and warm and I was able to pick up some great products as well. It’s a clean, nicely lit and lovely space with plenty of room and I look forward to future services there and with Becky.

Was highly unsatisfied with this salon. It seems like there are some really great stylists here but it appears I choose wrong. I went In to get full highlights with Reina and ended up with a line across my head in which the top was highlighted and the bottom was my natural color. When contacting her about this, I was informed that It could have happened if I had not had my hair done in a while (which wasn't true, I had it highlighted about 3 months prior) or that it was because she didn't pull the color through the hair. I was also told that "blonde won't look great in all lightings

This was my first time at Rumors Salon since i am looking for new stylist and let me tell you- i've found one! I went to see Esther. I got an appointment with her the morning of. The staff was super welcoming when i came. Esther was so friendly and she did EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. i have been wanting this haircut for years from a stylist and i finally got it from her. Thank you so much Esther and Runors Salon for the wonderful experience. I will be back for sure.

Worst hair salon I have ever been to. They hire inexperienced hairdressers like Vivienne who wasted my time for 45 mins and told me she did not have the experience and was "not comfortable" doing my hair dye. I had to come back to the salon 2 hours later so another stylist could do my hair dye. Then I left the salon with black eyebrows and blonde hair. I told the hairdresser that I was not comfortable walking out with the dark eyebrows she dyed. She told me there was nothing she could do and to come back two days later. I called two days later and they told me that she couldn't dye

So this salon scheduled an appointment and then called on that day me to tell me I was late, even though I confirmed the day before the correct time. After calling, and finding out that they had our appointment wrong, the manager arrogantly and rudely stated “Well everyone in the United States of America knows that there is no time change in… Arizona!” Obviously we don’t. I’m asking to reschedule or work with me, they became irritated and told me I would have to deal with a later appointment and another stylist, even though it was there mistake.

Updated: Last week I realized my hair has been in a bun for the better part of 5 years, mainly due to my hair being long and having a texture I've lovingly refer to as "Dumpster Mermaid." It's not really curly, it's not really wavy. Not ideal for a record breaking Arizona summer.
