Services
Our menu of services at Ou Salon is a la carte. Color and texture services listed do not include balancing toners, haircuts or blowouts. All services include a complimentary consultation. The price of service is based on the professional level of the stylist you select and the availability of that level at the time of booking.
A Master Stylist and seasoned Salon Manager, Vann, has been working with clients in Philadelphia since 2009 before opening Ou Salon in the spring of 2018. Vann's extensive training in advanced color and cut, his artistic eye, and his passion for personal style and confidence inspires clients and his own team every day of the week.

I tried Salon Ou for a haircut, because where I usually go was booked out got weeks. The owner, Van, gave me a haircut and he did a horrible job. He didn’t blend any of the layers together and his technique was incredibly poor compared to my experiences at other salons in the city. When I went back to have my hair fixed today, Van and Rob were trying to shut me up when I was sitting waiting to be talked to. I asked if someone else could fix it, because I didn’t trust him. It was clear he was focused on his ego rather than fixing his mistakes or having someone else in the establishment fix it

This rating and review are long overdue! Always wonderful service from Katherine each and every time I visit the lovely Ou Salon. She is talented, creative and honest, and always a pleasure to chat with during my visits. I came in with hair that was way overdue for a cut. I've found it difficult to find a good men's stylist in the city that won't butcher my hair, so i had been putting it off.
Vann did exactly what I was looking for. I showed him some examples on Pinterest and he nailed it. I'd highly recommended him for mens haircuts!

Katherine gave me a balayage and haircut & I loved her. She talked a lot with me about what I did/didn't want before she got started and it ended up better than I could've hoped. $145 balayage, $65 haircut, $38 toner. I fully love what she did, trust her, & plan to return. Def recommend!

Nicole did a wonderful job, and I really enjoyed my time at Ou Salon! The whole staff was friendly, relaxed, and welcoming. I sat with the haircut for a week before I gave a review. I'm still thrilled a week later, and continue to get compliments!
I particularly appreciated how calm and focused Nicole was while still being friendly. I felt very relaxed with her, and I had a lot of confidence in her care. We chatted a little, but I could tell she was mostly focused on what she was doing, and I really loved that. 10/10, I would recommend her to anyone.

I am soooo happy with my color and cut! I walked in for a consult with a tangled mess of a grown out bad color job - brassy yellow, 50 shades of gray and brunette. I was given a plan and a price and came back the next day. Vann worked his magic, giving me color that complimented my grays and browns so that the transition over time would be a more natural one. The cut is great too; even though my hair was a bit damaged, Vann was careful not to take too much away so I could still put it up for exercise. Very pleased to have found a new home for my hair.

I've just been to Ou for my first appointment. After moving to Philly from New York I needed to find a salon to do my highlights. I'm really picky about my hair color so after much research I found Ou.
Vann did my hair and he is excellent! This has been one of the best colors I've had, and I've been coloring my hair for over 20 years. Also, an excellent blow dry.
The salon itself is lovely and the crew are really friendly and courteous.
I absolutely recommend this salon.

My wife and 2 year old and mother-in-law all get their hair cut at this gem in Fairmount.
After my family's glowing reviews and seeing their hair after haircuts, I was sold. I also had about 5 consecutive BAD haircuts in a row from other spots around the area. I had almost given up. So happy I did not, because I recently had the pleasure of getting my haircut with Vann and was extremely pleased. He is really an artist at his craft. I cannot express how forever grateful I am to everyone at Ou Salon for pulling together hair and makeup for my Covid microwedding. The service here is unbelievable and they take such pride in their work, which definitely shows. Catherine did such an amazing job with my sister and my updos and created what we were looking for. Vann treated my mom like a VIP. I have never seen my mom's hair look more fabulous than it did that day. Our makeup was also spot on and fabulous. Rob did an amazing job orchestrating all of the moving pieces and have this come together. I cannot thank the salon enough

I get the sense that people who left reviews below hating on Rob are of the "Karen" flavor of people (AKA entitled, "the customer is always right" type... they also left the reviews on the same day... maybe they came in together...) so first, I want to start this review by setting the record straight and saying that Rob is the kindest, most friendly person there is! He does enforce the COVID-19 rules, as he absolutely should! He is the gatekeeper of the small business. That's a tough job nowadays. This does not mean he isn't friendly! I am thrilled that I tried Ou Salon today for my first time and had the best experience! Rob was friendly and helpful on the phone and so welcoming when I arrived. Vann the owner consulted with Katherine my stylist so that my color would be perfect. Katherine was so attentive to make certain I knew the plan for cut and color and she did a fabulous job with both. I'm particular how my natural curls are cut and shaped and I could not be happier. Everything was clean, safe, masks on. So happy to find this Salon in my neighborhood and I highly recommend.

I wish I didn't even have to leave a star! This place is THE ABSOLUTE WORST! The service was terrible from the moment I walked in! The guy Rob should NEVER be allowed to work with people! The man definitely needs classes on customer service. RUDE!!!!!!!!!! And I too embarrassed to post a picture of my hair! I am literally going somewhere else to get it redone or I'll have to wear a hat to cover this mess for a month! Disgusting all around from start to finish! I will make so no one I know goes to this salon!!!!

Absolutely horrendous receptionist named Rob. He is so rude to customers and has no respect for others feelings. Could not be less helpful and outright rude. Beware of him if you were to decide to still go here, but my recommendation STAY AWAY. There are plenty of other salons which will treat you with respect.

Nicole is amazing. I booked an appt on the Yelp app, was messaged about my appt on there and called to verify (very efficient) and sent them a pic of my hair, what I wanted, etc. Nicole took me from a box-dyed black/dark brown to some GORGEOUS balayage highlights. They were toned well, my hair is hydrated and she was funny and personable the whole time. Can't wait to book another appt to have y'all help me again!
