The following is a brief history of how we became who we are today. The late George L. Gause created the first funeral home in the frontier town of Fort Worth in 1879. Through five generations, he and his descendants served the families of Fort Worth in their time of need. In a tragic event, the funeral home at Pennsylvania Avenue and 5th Street burned to the ground in 1979.

When pre-planning a funeral, all of your thoughts and wishes are planned for. Your family will know what you want, and not what they think you want. At Brown, Owens & Brumley, we'll help you put it in writing. Writing it down will help avoid family disputes, or involvement by others that may not know what your wishes are.
A lump sum payment of $300.00 is usually available to families of those veterans that were entitled to receive VA compensation or pension at time of death (such as retirees), or veterans who died while a registered patient in a VA hospital or other accredited VA facility.
If one of these circumstances applies and a National Cemetery is not utilized, up to $300.00 could be reimbursed as a plot or interment allowance requires proof of payment to a non-VA cemetery.Private cemeteries usually assist you by filing this benefit in your behalf.

I thought this was going to be stressful having to find a funeral to take care of my dads unexpected death . They were excellent of taking care of everything. They didn't push us into buying everything. They were very helpful in explaining all the operations. I felt so relieved and was being treated respectful. Everything turned out as said. I strongly encourage this is the right place to go for your funeral needs.

I lost my dad in February. Without siblings or a spouse I was completely clueless and lost. A family member suggested Brown Owens & Brumley. From my first conversation with Lee I felt at ease. I'll also note that I called about six other funeral homes before speaking to Lee and I did not feel the same compassion and comfort with them that I did in talking to Lee. Everyone there was very kind and patient with me when I was at a loss and couldn't make decisions or changed my mind at the last minute. They do cremations on site which doesn't matter to some, but it was a big deal for me. I had a memorial
