Under no circumferences you should trust this woman. she is a fraud and will take your money. if you choose not rent her properties she will make excuses and keep your money. you will then have to sue her to get your money. I can not believe that anyone will choose to run a business based on lies and tries to defraud her clients. she should be sued, reported, and stopped. please do not let her get away with her fraudulent ways and please do NOT give her any money!

Mezal is unprofessional and fraudulent. She ask for a brokerage fee and security deposit (both one months rent), before sending any paperwork. We offered to pay her a $300 application fee to process our application, but explained that we felt uncomfortable sending her 6k without a contract. She yelled at us, attacked us and told us we were "out of touch". See the attached image.
We worked with Mezal. We worked with Sherman. We offered to pay $300 to process our application. Mezal demands thousands of dollars without a contract. Don't waste your time.

I just finished being SCREAMED at by Mazal. She sent me a Craigslist ad, didn't show up to the showing, and now is demanding I pay her a one month commission if I sign the lease.
Extortion. No one else in San Francisco has done this. Don't even ask email her about a listing, she will think she's owed a full month's commission.

If you are searching for an apartment on SF on Craigslist/Padmapper/etc., and see Mazal's name, don't even bother contacting her or looking into the apartment, you'll end up extremely disappointed.
Mazal has great listings, my boyfriend and I found one on Craigslist and reached out to her. She gave us a very short window of time to view the apartment, from 2 PM - 4 PM in the middle of a workday, with no other options. I canceled a business call I had scheduled for the afternoon to see the apartment. Mazal was late, and when she arrived, couldn't find the keys to the apartment

The reviews of Mazal here seem to fall into two buckets:
1. We hired Mazal to help us find an apartment and she did a great job
2. Mazal tried to extort us into paying her a broker fee
Unfortunately, my experience was the latter.
As others such as Chris L. have suggested, if you want the convenience of using a broker to find an apartment, that broker deserves to be compensated for their efforts.
The issue is that we conducted our own search, scouring dozens of websites, to find properties we liked. One of these properties happened to list Mazal as a contact. She was uninformed about the property

Wow. I sent this agent Mazal a question about seeing the apartment that is listed in Laurel Heights. I asked about the price and what were the highlights. She responsed, "You don't have to see it." How RUDE. The city is booming but there is no room for this kind of unprofessional behavior. I am a 5th generation San Franciscian and it is this kind of arrogance and snobbery that is ruining our city. Please do not use this agent. Mazal is AMAZING! She's extremely attentive, always reachable and takes the extra mile to help! I've been so lucky to work with her during my rental process. While walking home, my partner and I had seen a sign outside of the building that said something along the lines of, "apartment available, inquire with doorman." We did just that, and the very friendly doorman walked us through the unit. We were very interested in renting it and got an application from the doorman, who told us to fill it out and send it to the building secretary.
Later, while looking on Craigslist, we found a posting for the same unit, which listed Mazal as the point

If there's anyone I trust in San Francisco with finding my new home, it's Mazal! She truly makes things happen. I have no idea how she approaches the owner with her deals, but she can seriously turn coal into diamonds. Mazal is fantastic and helped me find my dream apartment in SF. I had been looking for 5 months for the perfect place without any luck. I met Mazal at a showing for another property and we got to talking about exactly what I was looking for.
She showed me 8 different units over 2 days and found me the perfect place in a hard to get into building. The unit wasn't on the market yet but with her connection with the owners, she was able to get me a showing before anyone else.
She helped write a great offer and less than 24 hours later, it was accepted by the owner. I move next month and

Unprofessional. Don't waste your time. We went through full lease process and were preparing to move within a week but then when finalizing time to pick up keys and obtaining a copy of lease signed by landlord, we received this email:
"Sorry for the delay.
The owner has decided to accept another party's offer and will rent to that party."
No phone call.
Lesson learned: Meet the landlord and get the lease fully executed by the landlord. Do not rely on the intermediary real estate agent.
