I was new to Houston and had been searching for a hair stylist with not that much luck until I stumbled upon Lakewood Hair design through a google search. The salon is cute, I wouldn’t say upscale luxurious fancy but better than your ordinary basic neighborhood salon. You can tell they put effort into the esthetics with an intimate feel. I was very scared to go to someone new because of bad past experiences especially with balayage as it has been my go to service. I booked with Ellie after reading a few reviews and seeing some picture of her work on social media . Ellie was super sweet and welcoming

Ellie & every stylist were not only incredibly skilled, but they’re genuinely wonderful humans to be around. The environment was so positive, friendly, and relaxing. My hair is notorious for going straight/flat and I am not creative what so ever. Ellie worked her magic and my hair stayed in style from my 11:30am appointment until my arrival back to my hotel room at midnight. Thank you so much for this experience!

Didn't expect to pay over $200 for all over color and a smoothing treatment. Smoothing treatment was $50 which means I paid between $130 for all over color. Also the color was supposed to be a medium chocolate brown and my hair is black and hasn't faded over the last month. Now I have to pay to go elsewhere to get some lighter pieces added .

I really love this place! All of the workers are really friendly and greet with such a warm welcome. I felt so comfortable. They’re used an organic products which make your hair really good and it won’t damaged your hair. I highly recommends this place. I just want to say thank you to Ellie. She’s amazing and so professional. I really love my hair. If you guys want such a beautiful hair, nice haircut, styling, highlights…etc. Don’t forget to give yourself a try at Lake Wood Hair Design!!!

Emily and her team do a fantastic job. Had my dark brown hair highlighted w/caramel and it looked fantastic and it didn't damage my hair. For over 15yrs I have been going to a well know salon in the area and paid double the price and because my hair is so dark it took too many "returns" to get the right color of highlights. NOT HERE!! She really know how to adjust dark hair to a lighter or add highlights without any visible damage...THE FIRST TIME!!
I also took my granddaughter, who wanted "dark blue" highlights ..(its not my thing) but I have to say it was beautifully done including the styling

The ladies here are truly wonderful. My daughter is very shy and was struggling to explain just how she wanted her hair. They were extremely patient while we stepped away so she could tell me what she wanted and by the time we left she had a big smile on her face and a wonderful haircut just like she wanted! And as Always my hair looks 😍 👌

Everyone here is super friendly and treat their customers well. Ellie is my go to stylist that knows how to not only find the right cut and color for my hair, but also educates me in the process which I really appreciate. She is so sweet and puts her clients first. I live in Austin now but only get my hair done here when I need it. I highly recommend going here!

I had been going to my previous hairdresser for many years but I moved to Houston last year. Finding a stylist who can give me the platinum that I envision has not been easy. 3rd hairdresser was a charm with Olivia! Love her and can’t wait for my next appointment! I'll be honest I have not gotten a haircut in over two years after a really bad haircut I walked in not knowing who was going to help me get a haircut today I'm glad I got Olivia she and I talked about what I wanted and needed and how to achieve that goal I knew it wasn't going to be today I knew was going to take more months to get it fixed I came out crying because I absolutely loved my hair she took her time she was so gracious. As I sit here in my car thinking of how wonderful I feel because of this haircut I'll be definitely going back to her

This place is amazing! Emely did my hair and I am so happy with my results! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she delivered. My hair looked more beautiful than I could ever imagine! Emely really listened to what I wanted and double and triple checked with me throughout the appointment that I was happy. She was quick and efficient. I was very impressed with her skill level. I will defiantly be coming back here and I highly recommend this place!

Shawn I AMAZING! I really wish I took a before picture. I have been growing my hair for 4 years from a pixie cut and haven't visited a salon! It was huge my hair was frizzy and instantly knotted, I looks like Mufasa. Sat in the chair with no style or product and said HELP! I got a deep conditioning and a long layered cut and holy cow I am no longer angry! My hair is so smooth and fabulous! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Didn't break the bank either so that's a major plus!

Great place. Online appointment booking is so convenient. Came in to get a haircut and my bayalage touched up with Jackie and she did a great job. The best thing is I came back today (couple weeks later) to get my hair toned cause it was too warm for me and she did it free of charge! Amazing service!!! Come here..you won't be dissapointed.

This place is absolutely amazing! Not only is the atmosphere incredibly personable and fun, but their work in hair and makeup is absolutely stunning. I got my prom hair done by Michael which he did and incredible job with the curls and volume!! And TJ did an amazing job with my makeup and he is hilarious! I felt like a princess at the end of my appointment and THIS IS LITERALLY THE PLACE TO GET YOUR HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE! Their hospitality is amazing and their entire staff is knowledgable!! I'm not the kind of person to go out and get a haircut at a salon. I either try to cut it, or have my mom cut it. I don't like to pay too much for a haircut, but I made an exception the other day. I came in very hesitant and not sure if the person cutting my hair can cut it the way I want it, but Michael did a wonderful job. My hair was pretty long, and I knew I couldn't keep the length. My hair was damaged at the ends and I knew I had to do something to it. I was tired of putting my hair into a bun. I told him that wanted layers and to cut a decent amount to where it looks fairly

I've been coming to Lakewood for almost 2 years now and have another hair appointment at the end of the month. Yay! I love coming to this salon because of their nice friendly staff, and especially because of my stylist, Lani!!! She is so sweet and takes the time to listen to what I want done to my hair, even when I really have no clue. The salon is very clean and well-kept and I've been able to make appointments that fit my busy schedule.
Lani's very good at knowing what cut looks good on you, and she even convinced me to change how I've been parting my bangs to the other
