Services
My passion for hair started as a little girl, playing hairstylist on my Grandma and Aunts. They always told me I'd have my own salon one day. As I got older my love for the beauty industry got stronger. In middle school/ high school, it was no surprise I found myself doing my friends hair and makeup, to which we both enjoyed very much.
Which could sometimes result in you running late for an appointment. Unfortunately, if one client is late it affects our whole schedule for the day. Therefore, I reserve the right to deny service to anybody who arrives 10+ minutes past their scheduled appointment. Denied services due to you running late, not showing nor calling will be charged the 50% of your remaining balance.

I have never left a hair salon more disappointed than I did today. I have also never left a hair salon looking the exact same as before I walked in. To be fair, most of my disappointment was my own fault for thinking that I could get a haircut in Chicago without it costing me a fortune. I still wish the website would have been a bit clearer in the descriptions of services. I already have another hair appointment booked at another place to try to see if I can get the cut I wanted.

Marybeth is amazing. Super upbeat and easy to talk to... I have been going to her for years now and have hesitated to leave a review because she's hard enough as it is to book (very popular)-- if you can get on her schedule, you won't regret it. She is meticulous, careful, and very thorough.
Not for nothing, she gives a MEAN head massage during the wash/rinse. I'd pay extra for a couple more minutes. *Magic fingers*

If you're looking for a new hair girl, look no further! Marybeth is so talented and a wonderful person. I had the same hairdresser for 21 years before moving to Chicago, and I struggled for a while to find the right fit here as not all hairdressers know their way around curly hair. I finally found Marybeth and never looked back!

She walked me through the entire process and set expectations. She also made perfect recommendations on what products to use to maintain the color I wanted. My hair looked so good after my appointment but the price was literally double what I originally expected. Typically balayage is $200-$300, and this was almost $550. The prices listed on the site are not reflective of the actual price given when you walk out. I would have liked for some guidance or heads up before the final bill came about the price, since it really wasn't reflective of the prices on the site.

MARYBETH Is FANTASTIC! Been going to her ever since she moved to Chicago from Florida -- also, sidenote -- MB, never leave Chicago !!! She's the only person who has cut my hair since 2013. I will never trust ANYONE else with my hair. She always just knows exactly what I'm looking for even if I don't have a complete vision or "pinned" image! Cut, color, color CORRECTION (aka she definitely knows how to handle my impetuous decision making // she changed a terrible color job from some crazy place I had to go to - I know - into an CELEB look !! Marybeth is a wonderful artist. The personal attention she gives you is something you just don't get at bigger salons. She's performed two big fixes on my hair- the first was a color overhaul in October 2018, where she took my over-bleached hair down to a cooler caramel. My hair was living!!
The second was a total makeover- taking all my dead, over-processed hair (from another stylist) and starting off new with a pixie cut! It's not easy to trust someone to lop off all your hair and make it look fantastic, but you're in great hands with Marybeth! So glad I went to her. I get

Not only is Marybeth a pure joy to be around, she absolutely slays my hair every time I've been in her chair. I am picky about my haircuts and have not been disappointed once! Her passion for her craft definitely shows in her work. The studio space is cozy and comfortable and filled with great energy. All around great experience. :)

I've been going to Marybeth for about six years now, and I NEVER leave disappointed! Every time I go in for a cut/color, she listens to my vision, will throw out suggestions (without being pushy for her own sake, which I've experienced elsewhere... she truly aims to give you EXACTLY what you want) and then somehow manages to make it look even better than what I imagined in the first place!

I moved to Chicago and was nervous about finding a new stylist. I found Mary Beth on Yelp and I am so grateful we connected. She is creative, innovative and amazingly talented! She is fantastic with hair and works magic with color. She's a hoot to be around and makes you feel right at home in her salon. Could not recommend her highly enough!!!!!

I randomly got Marybeth as a stylist at a previous place she worked at, and when she started her own business I had to follow. She is amazing - she always remembers what kind of style I like, and one of the great things is she is so personable and friendly. Having a stylist that asks about your niece that you mentioned 2 months ago...that's priceless. Marybeth is worth every penny, and I would recommend her to anyone!

Marybeth is the best stylist east of the Mississippi! Seriously, she chopped off all of my hair about 18 months ago and I've seen her every 6-8 weeks for a pixie refresh ever since. She is the pixie MASTER and finds creative ways to cut it so I'm not running back in here with a mullet every 4 weeks. Beyond her skill, I genuinely love catching up with her each visit. She tells a great story, remembers the highlights in my life and we trade great cocktail ideas. Would recommend to everyone, but especially to people who want to be dramatic and go for the pixie!

Marybeth is THE best! She's exceptionally talented, is a careful listener to your needs, and always makes you feel like she's been waiting all week to see you. She's the total package when it comes to a stylist. Once you have a stylist like MB to go to, you never leave them if you can avoid it.

I really wanted to love this place! Mary Beth was super nice and had a great set up but all in all it wasn't a great experience. A pet peeve of mine is really rough hair stylists and I left with a headache because of the rough brushing / blow dry. Additionally, the next day I noticed that the left side was about an inch longer than the right. I had my roommate fix it for me because it was so noticeable. I think it was a rushed appointment.

Marybeth is an amazing artist, I say artist because hair is definitely an art! Every time I have been to her she gives me exactly what I ask for and she makes the suggestions to make your cut even more fabulous then you could imagine!! She is also really great at explaining what hair products work best with your type of hair. Trust me when I say you will never ever trust anyone who isn't Marybeth with your hair!

Marybeth is such an amazing hair stylist and such a wonderful person. Her salon is so quaint and homey, I felt comfortable right away. She had a great variety of tea and coffee which was much needed since I had an early morning appointment. ha ha. She actually fit me in an hour before she officially opened which I really appreciated! I left that day with a great haircut and soft and great smelling hair. She even curled my hair for no extra charge when I told her I was going to a baby shower later in the day. Marybeth is definitely the stylist to go to for all your hair care needs.

As someone new to the city and struggling to find a hairstylist I was confident in, Marybeth was exactly what I was searching for! Not only did she help me find a cut and style that I loved, she also encouraged me to have some fun and try something new (like have the courage to dye my hair blue!).
