I have been to this place for the past few years, and so far my experience has been good. For the price they charge, you get approximately what you pay for. However, my last visit was terrible. This time, I booked with a new hairstylist Nelson Segarra (assuming he/him/his) that matched the availability of my schedule.

This was my 3rd experience at XEX SALON. 1st with Chelsea (I believe) and next 2 times with Kristina Lollar. My first experience wasn't necessarily bad but it wasn't anything to brag about.
I Loved My 2nd and 3rd time here with kristina. She is very attentive, communicative, friendly. I usually don't do much to my hair but when I do it simply entails trim or style. I always enjoy my time with her. The front desk is always helpful and Salon seem very well kept. It isn't too pleasing aesthetically but it isn't a eye sore either. Prices are reasonable. I have been coming to XEX Salon for several years. I have thick, long hair with a head full of cowlicks so my hair is not the easiest to deal with. My first appointment was with David and it was during the time that side swept bangs were popular. He assessed my hair and the photo I brought in and was very kind and explained to me how it would not work with my hair as I have all the cowlicks etc. For most of my life I have had terrible haircuts. I went to Ms. Kristina Lollar to get my 4c natural hair washed, blowdried, and trimmed and she was AMAZING. She was so gentle with my hair and made sure that I felt comfortable and had no pain. She is a wonderful and professional hair stylist and I’m very happy I found her to do my hair!

Luis.is the most incredible stylist I have ever worked with. His honesty and professionalism will keep me coming back! I just got extensions and luv the way he placed them. The color is flawless too. He is awesome!!

I came here from out of town to get my hair and make up done for a wedding. Victoria did my hair and Kristina did my make up. Both of these women listened to exactly what I wanted. Victoria looked at a picture of what I wanted and tried her best to get close to it, while also making sure as she did it that I loved what she was doing. Kristina was the same way. She kept having me check in the mirror as we went along to make sure it was what I wanted. It was so nice to have hair and make up done and not have to worry about it coming in from out of town. Thank you so much, it was a wonderful experience

I went to the salon to get a balayage lighter color than my hair instead I just got a color that is not even noticeable. She didn’t do my hair the same way I wanted it saying that it’s because I dyed my hair before so the bleach didn’t work on all of my hair. I told her that I dyed my hair before and I thought she was supposed to be a pro and know what she is doing to my hair. It was a bad painful experience and I paid 390$ for nothing. she didn’t even give me a discount for not giving me what I asked for. Her name was Kristina Lollar. She just messed up my hair. Plus I asked for conditioning

I've never gotten my hair colored professionally so I was really nervous walking into my full balayage. but Kris did an amazing job and I can't wait to get back in there next time. The entire time she also made sure to pause and ask if I like what was happening or if I wanted her to go lighter of darks or change it completely.

I had the worst experience today. I also don't have very high standards. I came in for a trim and she cut off four inches. I've spent so much time in trying to grow out my hair. I just wanted a straight cut and she also gave me face trimming. Her response was well it will grow back. She also decided to curl my hair after and well let's just say I'm not sure if they were curls or waves or what. She rushed through it. Also, I have very thin hair so it doesn't take long to cut my hair. Overall I am very upset. Also disappointed because it is less than a mile from my apartment

Let me preface this by saying I'm not rating for the services received since I did not actually receive the services they provide. I'm reviewing on behalf of my girlfriend and amazing the salon's accommodation and customer service. With that out of the way, here's a little background.
On Saturday morning, I had a salon company arrange to do hair and makeup for my girlfriend in her hotel room. Long story short, they never showed up, even though they claimed they did. My girlfriend was able to call and do a walk-in appointment. Let me tell you, she looked absolutely stunning

I have been coming to this salon for a few years and have always had great service regardless of who assisted me. I had not been to the salon since 2019 due to the pandemic and was in serious need of hair attention. Luis Deleon was INCREDIBLE! My hair looks better than I could have imagined and he made the process fun. Luis was a magician with my hair and I am in love with the color.

I went in yesterday for a textured hairstyle. I booked with Kristina. She was a very nice stylist and had great conversation. However, at the end of it all I was not satisfied with the end result. I felt as though I was overcharged. I know I paid for the products but my hair style did not wow me or leave me feeling confident after I left. I had to fix it. I should not have had to fix a style myself afterwards. It defeats the purpose of getting your hair done. I felt duped. I know I could have done better, if I just did it myself. I paid $86 plus a generous tip. I will not be returning to this salon

Got a haircut/style/blow dry with Victoria and she did an amazing job. You can tell she has experience and definitely knows what she's doing. She went above and beyond and taught me how to use a flat iron to straighten the stubborn little fly aways I have also. Love that the salon is very artsy and interesting inside. Will definitely be back to see Victoria for my next hair cut!

Victoria is one of the most talented colorists and stylists I have ever worked with. I have been getting my hair done by her for years and have recommended her to my friends as well. She is literally an artist when it comes to hair color and the results always look beautiful, vibrant, and natural. I always come to her way past the time I need to but she always helps me feel refreshed when I leave. I also appreciate that she can guide me with her expertise when we consult on a hair idea I have. Long time customer of XEX Hair Salon for the last seven years. Have always received a fabulous job well done, just see my before and after pictures. Love the way my hair smells after and the confidence they give in my appearance :) During COVID-19 the salon has upped the cleaning procedures, takes temperatures prior to appointments, and makes you feel completely safe. What's also nice is that when I was a graduate student they even give a great discount for students with ID!

I don't always write reviews but in light of Covid and small businesses, I felt that I had to express my sincerest appreciation with the experience I had at XEX Salon. I felt safe that all necessary precautions were made upon entering the salon.

Had a Groupon for a balayage, cut, and style. And...I got what I paid for!
Chelsea cut my hair really well but the balayage was pretty below average. The color wasn't exactly what I asked for and parts weren't blended, see pics. Oh and they charge $30 extra for toner...shouldn't it be included?
Never decide to cheap out when it comes to your hair. Lesson learned!
