At Roots Hair Salon our prices range according to the expertise and years of experience of our stylists. Prices also vary based on the density and texture of the hair along with the complexity of the cut and style. Prices above are quotes and are subject to change; more accurate pricing determined during the consultation.

Covid regulated salon in west town. Clean and courteous. First haircut since before pandemic so I needed it. Masks required and temperature checks.
Had a noon appointment but my even though salon was empty my stylist arrive almost 15 min late while I sat there waiting.
Wanted to chop off my hair and was happy with the final result. Slightly shorter than I wanted but it came out cute and felt good and healthy. Got some nice aveda products too.
I will likely be back in the future.

Exceptional experience having my hair braided by Nura, from scheduling to finished product. I couldn't be happier! All of the staff I spoke with were polite and informative. They responded to my website request promotly and Nura personally answered my emails with questions and scheduling details. The salon is clean and beautiful. I will definitely be back.

My 1st poor review ever. Wish it was for a restaurant, which would mean just a not-that-great outing. Alas, it's for a hair salon, which means I look like a freak. I was excited about the Roots salon's great reviews, and relied fully on stylist. She showed me some pictures, and we agreed on cold highlights. After we were done, I did notice my hair color looked odd, but thought I'd just need to get used to it. Came home. Didn't get used to it. I tried. My hair looked like a wig: single-process yellow color that didn't match my skin tone AT ALL, making each freckle and pimple

They use Aveda products which are organic and smell really good.
My stylist was Morgan. She gave me the best head massage coupled with the hair wash for a good 10-12 mins! That was the highlight for me!
She listened to what I wanted before going in for the cut. Blow dried them straight, nothing fancy.
I was reasonably happy with the cut, it was the perfect length, even on both sides (believe me, I've come out of haircuts with uneven hair, nightmare!) my only complaint being that

Awesome salon. Kelly is THE BEST STYLIST I've been to. I have really curly hair and it's tough to find someone let alone to cut it AND CUT IT GREAT!! My search is over!! I'm always hesitant to walk into a new place, but she did a great job explaining what she planned on doing and how she planned to execute. She was also great at explaining the products she was using and how they worked with my hair. She's super sweet and is a great senior stylist. Highly recommended!!

I saw a coupon, and it was down the street from where I lived so I figured why not give it a try. I think as much as I want to say it's only hair - there is will always be some sort of attachment to it. The receptionist answering the phone and maybe is the same at the desk is really nice and friendly. My first experience at Roots was great! The vibe in there is so great and the people could not have been nicer! They were even able to fit me in for a brow wax even though I had neglected to make an appt for it. June (esthetician) and Rachel (stylist) were great! Roots is one of the best salons in the city. It has a super trendy location, smells amazing and is always extremely clean. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. There is one stylist named Keli who is excellent at trendy cuts and color. She is also hilarious and in a sketch group called Hi Betty! The salon offers a variety of unique quality products including makeup (lip gloss to die for). Roots is the JAM!

Keli Killed my fall Kolor!!!! Slayed it! I had about three inches of dark outgrowth and very blonde hair. She painted, feathered (blended) and toned my hair beautifully! We decided on a mauve color for my roots to be blended into my previous color and it totally worked. Not that it matters but my boyfriend even said he loved it!! Go and sit in her chair, relax and enjoy... the salon itself is super chill and friendly. I have had a solid three years of getting what I want every time : )

Brigitte did such a great job taking me back to my natural color after a brief, poorly considered and ill advised attempt to be a redhead.
I totally trusted her from the very first moment I sat down in the chair, and enjoyed talking with her during the lengthy process of coloring my longgggg hair. She suggested going darker at first to allow the color to fade naturally, and it worked like a charm! Plus I majorly enjoyed my life as a raven-haired badass for a couple weeks. It's been about six weeks and I have zero roots - praise!

I have been seeing Jackie for a few years now and she is amazing! I have followed her to a few salons and will go anywhere in the city she goes, that's how good she is. Jackie takes the time to really listen to what you want and talk it through before diving into the cut/color. She's got some serious talent! It is clear by her techniques that she really cares about her craft and making sure you get exactly what you want. A few other pros....she is FUNNY! And serves wine/beer. Go see her asap!
