Valley Drive Cooperative Preschool is a community of families who take an active role in their children's preschool experience. Founded in 1958, Valley Drive is a parent-run, non-sectarian, cooperative preschool. Our purpose is to furnish the best possible educational opportunities at the most reasonable cost.
Members are accepted regardless of race, sex, national origin, or religion. As a cooperative school, Valley Drive parents work together and with school staff to give our children a great preschool experience. Valley Drive is licensed by the State of Virginia and is a member of the Virginia Cooperative Preschool Council (VCPC).

Services
Valley Drive Cooperative Preschool offers programs for 2, 3, and 4/5 year olds. Every attempt will be made to balance the classes with regard to age and sex. At Valley Drive we have equipment for both indoor and outdoor play. Each teacher plans the school day with a balance between active and quiet activities.
To enroll their children at Valley Drive Cooperative Preschool, parents should contact the Valley Drive Membership Chairperson to schedule a tour or call 703-519-3737 for more information. Valley Drive provides priority enrollment to siblings of current Valley Drive students and former Valley Drive families.
Parents participate in virtually every facet of the Valley Drive Cooperative experience, from working in the classroom as a teacher's assistant (aka "co-oping") to serving on the Board of Directors in a variety of capacities, to fundraising (bake sales, special events, silent auction and raffles, etc.).
Art plays an important part in Valley Drive's preschool program and is integrated into most Valley Drive activities. It contributes to our children's creative development and supports skills in many other areas. Making art can be a science activity, language activity, or math activity. It can help children develop social skills, engage in sensory exploration, practice fine muscle control, and strengthen eye-hand-motor control.
