BLPS offers private preschool, kindergarten and toddler childcare in Alexandria, Virginia. We were founded in 1959 to provide a Christian education for young children and as an outreach to their families. The school is an extension of the educational ministry of Bethany Lutheran Church, a Missouri Synod congregation.
The school includes children of the congregation, other congregations, and children whose families have no church affiliation. Bethany Lutheran is truly a diverse group of learners and our goal is to meet each child's individual needs!

My name is Danielle (Dani) Peeling and I am the Director of BLPS. I am a 6th generation Florida native who moved to Alexandria almost six years ago.
My name is Mary Duffy, and I am so excited to be at Bethany Lutheran, and to have YOU in my Little Lions class! This is my first year at Bethany, but I have taught in public schools and Sunday School for 8 years. My family has lived in Alexandria for a little over a year - I have two boys, aged 2 and 5, both of whom will be attending BLPS as well!
Hello BLPS families! I am Becky Thompson and I am excited to be joining BLPS again as a teacher for the Baby Bears! This is such a fun age as personalities continue to develop and each day is a new discovery! I look forward to working with your little ones and getting to see them grow more every day.
Hi BLPS families! I'm Rachel Penland and I am very excited to be leading the Hippos classroom again this year! Prior to the Hippos, I worked in the Mom's Day Out program at Bethany and had a blast with the one and two year old kiddos! This is my favorite age to teach, as you really get to see them blossom!
I'm very excited to be leading the 3 year old classroom this year! I have always had a passion for working in early childhood as the students bring so much joy to the classroom each and every day! I love watching them explore God's creation and see them learning through their curiosity and exploration.
