The vision for Great Beginnings Early Learning Center is to be the best and most trusted Nursery & Preschool in the Washington metropolitan area where children are nurtured, trained and equipped for the great future ahead of them. Our Mission is to provide early learners with the tools to learn sharing, compassion, patience, honesty, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Here at Great Beginnings, we believe in the spiritual, educational, and overall development of children as they grow, learn, play and explore the world around them. Our program is carefully designed to meet each child's individual needs. We involve all our children in the learning process from the infant class through four-year-old learners.
Please note that the center will not be able to immediately enroll or waitlist a family that is yet to have visited our facility via a scheduled pre-enrollment tour or an Open House event. Following the receipt of your online form, a member of our enrollment team will contact you within 1 business day to schedule a tour as soon as convenient for the prospective family.
At Great Beginnings, we strive to provide the safest and best care for your children while at the same time keeping our rates and fees competitive so that many families are able to afford the exceptional care we provide. The Enrollment Fee at Great Beginnings is $150 per child. The fee is non-refundable and is payable upon enrollment.
We are truly grateful to you and the rest of your staff that has loved and cared for our son since he was just 3 months old. It's not always easy to leave your child in someone else's care for so much of the day, and we are thankful to have found a place with management we trust wholly and a place where he has thrived and been happy.

More than 5 stars, Absolutely love GBELC! We found them after a long search, and they were an instant "YES" after our tour. We were unsure anything near Old Town would be even remotely affordable; not only is GBELC one of the better deals we found in the area, but they are incredible. The app they use to communicate with us is so convenient - and they actually put personalized info in there every single day so you can "check in" on your tot anytime you want! I am writing this review to share my positive experience at Great Beginnings. I sent my oldest daughter there for 1.5 years and only switched daycares because we moved from Alexandria. Notably, I sent my four-month old to Great Beginnings for a full month before we switched. We trusted GBELC to get our younger comfortable with the daycare environment!
Great Beginnings is located in a yellow townhouse on Washington St. Only those with fobs can access the building, and parents can sign their children in/out using a tablet. Throughout the day, staff update the Tadpole app with food/diaper entries

Our son was in the infant class at GBELC and we were so happy with the care and love he received there. The facilities were great - the infant classroom is very spacious, split into two sides to cater to the younger versus older, more mobile infants, and has the outdoor tot-lot attached onto it which our son loved. The teachers did so much art, crafts, physical activities and sensory activities with the babies. Our son used to bounce with excitement when we arrived at the door in the morning. Great Beginnings Early Learning Center is the perfect fit for our family. With the great teachers and staff, both of our kids were able to make a very smooth transition and we’ve noticed so much growth in them since starting. They offer great art projects, time outside, as well as beginning academics to help the children introduced to school. I have recommended it to several friends and will continue to do so.

After 11 months on waitlists for daycare options near our home in DC I panicked to look for a place to take care of my 13 week old daughter close to my office. To say we lucked into a spot at Great Beginnings is an understatement. They took loving, attentive care of her from the moment I dropped her off. They were always incredibly accommodating of my needs as a new mother and worked with me to always make sure I felt comfortable with the care she received.
