Services
The building now known as Moss Family Funeral Home was constructed originally as a residence in the 1850's. It remained solely a residence until 1965 when it was purchased by Donald Yurs and converted into a funeral home.

Founded in the mid-sixties as the Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, named for the owner, Donald Yurs and the Director, Donald Peterson, it remained under that name until 2001 when it was purchased by the Moss family, Bryan W. Moss and Amanda D. Moss. The name was then changed to Moss Family Funeral Home; reflecting the new ownership.
The passing of my husband was very hard on me. Bryan and his staff took all the worries I had about the funeral, and left me worry free. They answered all my questions, worked with me on all the requests that I had and helped me make some hard decisions. When I was finished with all the choices, I had to pick out, they handled the church services.
Located at 209 South Batavia Avenue in Batavia, Illinois, Moss Family Funeral Home offers serene grounds and a picturesque setting. The beautiful limestone building was constructed in the 1850's. It has been a funeral home since about 1965.

Over the years since the Moss family ownership in 2001, significant improvements were made to the facility; the first being facility-wide handicap accessibility, including wheelchair ramps and ADA compliant restrooms.Since then, a three car garage has been added to the rear of the building and a new state of the art preparation room and morgue as well.
Located at 100 South Third Street in St. Charles, Illinois, Moss-Norris Funeral Home contributes to a rich history in the Fox Valley area for well over a hundred years. Being located in the heart of the historic downtown St. Charles district provides a sense of warmth and community to all those that enter our home.
Bryan Moss, the owner of Moss Family Funeral Homes continues to strengthen and build upon his vision of being the Fox River Valley premier funeral home provider of choice. Through that vision, Moss Family Funeral Homes is proud to announce that in 2013 we built our very own local human and pet crematory.

This place is fantastic. I lost my daughter in late January and was of course devastated. I called Moss and they took over right away. I didn't know the process at all for setting up a wake or funeral and Moss made it a breeze. When you’re grieving for a loved one the last thing you want is a run around or anything to be complicated. The professionals at Moss did all the work and took us through everything we needed to know. They worked quickly and made a warm and welcoming service for my daughter. I can’t thank you guys enough for your great service. Thanks so much Moss, you all should be

Moss Funeral Home was fabulous during a difficult time for our family. The professionalism, care and comfort they gave to us was outstanding. Anthony was our "go to" person and was sensitive to our grief. He thoroughly explained the entire process and made it easier for us. Ashley and Brian were also very helpful throughout. I would highly recommend their service from start to finish. Thank you from my sister and me. Sue and Liz

Our family used Moss-Norris Funeral Home after the death of my mom. Our experience was beyond positive! My mom died at home and Becca Ehlert came to mom's house that evening. She was kind, compassionate and answered any questions that we had. There was a gentleness to her that gave us such peace during this very difficult time. They handled my mom's body with such care and respect. The next day we went to Moss-Norris Funeral Home in St. Charles. Mr. Bryan Moss and Becca helped our family seamlessly plan my mom's visitation and mass. The process went so smoothly - beyond our expectations actually

Bryan does an exceptional job at Moss Family Funeral Home. He is warm, caring, and compassionate. He met every need that I had. I cannot recommended him enough for his extremely professional service. I am so happy that this was the first and only funeral home I contacted. I would not even think about contacting another funeral home the next time that I need their services.

I've met Mr. Moss on several occasions. He is kind, knowlegeble, and compassionate. I know first hand from friends that work at Michelson 's and Homestead ,when Mr. Moss has been called to pick up the deceased. He will come in the middle of the night completely dressed in a coat and tie, and very gently handles the deceased..I've not met anyone working in that industry any kinder , or considerate
as Mr. Moss and I know I wouldn't hesitate using him personaly.

We had my father's visitation and funeral at Moss and my whole family was impressed with the staff and facility. Bryan met with me, my mom and two sisters to plan everything. We had a lot of questions and he took the time to explain our options to us. Eric, the funeral director. met us at the nursing home right after my dad died and offered his condolences. He also helped us during both the visitation and funeral and we appreciated his friendly demeanor. The funeral parlor looked nice with the photo boards we prepared displayed on various easels and plenty of comfortable places to sit. In

WORST funeral home I had experienced-went to two kid funerals in a month and the first director didn't give people a chance to memorialize the decedent-he couldn't WAIT to shoo people out the door!! HE RUDELY pushed me aside and announced service was over As if he was BOTHERED!! The second funeral and director was much nicer!! I didn't want to tell the grieving mother how disappointed I was the first time, and cringed that I had to go back for a repeat! I know it is a money making business and just another body to u-but for GOD's sake, show SOME compassion. This is Moss

Absolutely horrific experience. No compassion or regard for the most basic human condition. Far more concerned with collecting a check than creating an experience that honors loved ones. Hateful, bitter people. It is beyond my comprehension why they have been around this long. I will make it my mission to make everyone aware what a nightmare it is to deal with Moss.
