Community Preschool At Lakewood
Young children are active learners; they learn by using their senses and actions to interact with their environment. Brain development research has found that a child's early interactions with their physical environment and their interactions with caregivers determine how their brain will develop and continue to develop as they grow.

Infants enrolled in our day care program will experience nurturing care in a warm, secure environment. There's nothing terrible about twaddlers (2 year old children) - they're just beginning to test their independence. Now is the time to truly start discovering the world for children that range from 3-4 years old.
Services
Tutor Time of Durham had been caring for children in the community since 1996. With a great reputation in the local community as a result of the amazing care their dedicated and compassionate teachers provide every day; this was the perfect opportunity for the founder of Community Preschool to renter the preschool business.
The development of a child intellectually, emotionally, cognitively, socially, and physically is accomplished when they are allowed to learn through play, exploration, and creativity. Physically, by providing a well-designed movement program that includes fundamental movement skills and patterns and through the development of exceptional outdoor learning and play environments.
I am so excited to be the new Director at Community Preschool. I have been in the Education field since 2000. I have a BS in Birth to Kindergarten Professional Teaching License and Early Care and Education in Early Childhood from University of North Carolina Greensboro. I am currently working on completing my master's degree in B-K Interdisciplinary Studies in Education & Development.

In our Toddler Day Care Program we balance individual attention with group activities and ensure that your toddler is using all that energy in productive ways. There's nothing terrible about twaddlers (2 year old children) - they're just beginning to test their independence, influence and control.

My 3 year daughter enjoys going to this school. It's only been 2 weeks, but every time I pick her up she tells me she had a good day. That makes me feel so good as a parent. This is her 2nd school so I'm glad to say she will be staying.

Lovely staff, but there is a decent amount of turn over, which makes me question the treatment of the employees. Could be a coincidence, but who knows. Other than that, lovely establishment. Very clean, good with the kids. The employees there are active and involved, and have life in their eyes! They definitely care about the kids.

We have taken our infant daughters here for a few months and could not be happier with the experience. The staff clearly all know her by name, and we are confident that she is always well taken care of. Despite her young age (<6 months), they still engage her in various activities like finger painting and story time. Also VERY clean, which is a high priority on my list.

It has been six months, my three yr old and 7 months old are going to this facility. Staff are super great and helpful. My daughter is now potty trained with their help, disciplined and learnr positive response and education like counting. Never complained of diaper rash for little one. Very clean facility, very secure and low price compare to others.

We have had two girls there and the staff greets them by name every morning. They do a great job of looking after them like children and not just a seat that has to be filled. The administration has always been responsive to our needs and they are getting a lot better with communicating through their web portal.

Our little one has grown with Tutor Time since she was an infant. We've loved seeing the caring relationships that the caretakers have formed with her as she's developed. Each of her teachers are very special to us, and we feel like they are part of our family!
