Westminster School sponsored by Westminster Presbyterian Church was established in 1969 and offers a program where children are encouraged to progress at their own growth and maturity level while experiencing a wide range of hands-on learning experiences. Westminster School is a half-day early childhood program for children 18 months through Pre-K.
We feel children learn by doing and encourage creativity at all age levels. For this reason our classrooms are both stimulating and busy. Children participate in readiness skills, gross and fine motor skills, role play, science experiments, cooking, singing, and individual and group play. Children also learn about different cultural customs and engage in movement and music consistently.

Westminster School for young Children is the best preschool in Durham in my opinion. All of the passionate teachers offer developmentally appropriate care in a fun, loving atmosphere. Both of my boys adore the school and all of the activities that they get to do. One of my sons just baked apple pie with his teacher for the letter "A."

We adore Westminster! We feel so lucky to be part of the WSYC community. The teachers are all kind, patient and welcoming. The school encourages children to participate by providing a wide range of age-appropriate hands-on materials and activities from which they can choose.
My son started in the Mouse class with Mrs. Bourn and Mrs. Williamson last year and I could not have asked for better teachers or a better group of classmates. He made so many friends. The parents of the other students are also what makes us love this program. Any child would be lucky to be part of this school.
