Staff was very helpful and kind. I wish there was a bartender available when we were there. The stay itself was great. My only complaint is the room had so many ants. Not sure if anyone else has ever encountered that, but the room was full of ants. The restroom, the small kitchen area, the window sills just full of ants.

Stayed at this hotel for NYE for a family wedding just a few buildings down the street. They are in need of some serious cosmetic repairs. There is peeling wallpaper everywhere and stains on the walls in both our room and the hallways. Our bathroom was deplorable. The toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall with loose screws, the toilet was disgustingly dirty, the ceilings and walls were bubbly and cracking. There was no soap or shampoo, only conditioner, truly not even soap to wash your hands. Only one elevator was working which made check in and check out times very hectic. The air in our

Wouldn’t really recommend this hotel, it looked cool and had a nice feel which is why it gets 2 stars instead of one But, there’s nothing else that really elevates this hotel from the rest. Our room only had conditioner in it, the door doesn’t close unless you force it close, and the worst part was being woken up MULTIPLE times starting at the crack of dawn from the car horns from the parking garage across the street People would go on for like 5 minutes honking and then it would stop for a little bit and we would fall back asleep and then it would start again. Stay somewhere else, Nola is full of incredible hotels.
The main highlight of my stay was having all of my electronics stolen out of my room. I had my laptop taken, AirPods, headphones, and even my charger. It was a big loss for me since I needed that laptop for work. All total I lost thousands of dollars. Yes my room was locked at all times, and nobody entered except for me. I wasn’t sharing the room with anyone. I filed a police report once I saw on Find my iPhone that my computer was shut off and my AirPods were being used miles away.

I would give it 5 stars however things were stolen from us twice. On the first night, my friend’s money went missing out her wallet and of course we didn’t want to blame hotel staff right away but there was no other explanation. However after the front desk told her there was nothing she could do, we left it alone. Then the next day something of mine was stolen out of my purse. We’re 100% sure these things were stolen. The Staff, The Decor, The room size, The distance to activities, EVERYTHING about The Mercantile was AMAZING!!! The staff was SO professional & SO helpful!!! What makes NOLA special for me is the hospitality of the people!!! The decor of the hotel was AMAZING!!! I wanted it to be my homes basement with the fully stocked bar, lounge area, & game area. The only thing that would have made it better for my crew is if there were a Humidor on site! Which would totally flow with the vibe BTW! Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again & again!
