Services
Honoring the past, investing in the future, yet celebrating the now-the Porto Vista experience is wholly unique and timeless. Our story begins in 1999, when Moe Siry purchased the structure of what would become the Porto Vista Hotel. As an immigrant with nothing but determination and a vision to create an affordable, one-of-a-kind, family-owned hotel in the heart of downtown San Diego, Moe exemplified the American Dream.
Kick off your shoes. Get comfy. With six styles of rooms at the Porto Vista, we're certain there's something for everybody. Each room is accessible through exterior corridors, so there's never a wasted opportunity to bask in San Diego's perfect weather. Original art in every room transforms your stay into a unique, artistic experience.
Our single queen is the coziest and most affordable room in our collection, perfect for sightseers, trailblazers, and anyone who just needs a soft bed to rest after a day of adventuring. Roll-away beds and cribs are not optional due to space constraints. If you're the type who likes more elbow room, please check out our other room styles.
Why mess with a classic? There are so many surprises in a traveler's life, and sometimes dependability is all you need. For those who want comfort, our classic king or two-queen accommodations provide all the essentials for a relaxing stay. Thank You for choosing the Porto Vista. The well-being and safety of our hotel guests, staff and community is our top priority.
Our deluxe rooms have over 330 square feet of comfortable space, pillow-top beds and cozy sitting areas. Ideal for anyone who just wants a touch more luxury during their stay. Our hotel's unique design features several different floor plans for this style, so no two rooms are the same. Thank You for choosing the Porto Vista.

Heather is the only reason we stayed here. She handled our situation with customer service in mind. Even though we were upset, she kept calm, and handled our situation to the best of her ability! Im all about customer service and she represents that! I swear she needs to be managing/hiring people. You need more like her

This hotel is in desperate need of a remodel
There were multiple lights not lit in public spaces making difficult to find our way to our room
Room 215 is painted a drab dark brown and the bathroom sink is falling off the wall and bathroom floor tiles were cracked
The internet throughout the property is extremely weak and slow in our room despite multiple calls to the front desk
Convenient to Little Italy but hotel parking is overpriced for guests

Internet barely worked enough to use Instagram - impossible to use for work. Pool closed. Room was freezing and the heater did not work, I asked at the front desk in person for a blanket and waited 2.5hrs to get it after calling multiple times. Staff were rude and dismissive. Location is good but you do not get good value.

I don't post normally but this was far from enjoyable and would suggest staying somewhere else if you're visiting. I'm a local so a little more forgiving but for the price it's not at all worth it. Not clean, not updated. The shower leaked all over the floor. I called and requested an extra blanket and was told "I have one you can come get it" a zero for customer service.

Good hell. Only positive thing I can say is the gentleman that checked us in was super prompt and friendly.
The room was filthy, the dresser was broken, nightstand was broken, desk was broken. This was our third time staying here, last 2 times were 2 years ago and 6 years ago. They've since done a 'remodel'..I'm not sure who they hired but it's awful. Pulled out all carpet and put in something cheap... add in the floor being dirty and it was disgusting and I had to wash my feet within 5 mins then made everyone in my party wear their shoes for the remainder of our stay

My friend and I stayed here the weekend of October 22-24, and we felt totally bamboozled from the moment we walked out of the elevator onto our floor. We truly thought we’d found a gem based on the online photos and description, but it fell flat on everything. First of all, I’d hardly call this place a hotel as the layout seems to qualify it as a motel. The rooms open to an exterior hallway, and the only window in our room had a view to this hallway, so unless you like the idea of just anyone being able to peer into your room at your things or worse, you personally, you must keep your curtains

So this hotel gets 2 stars -
It's centrally located 1 and 2 they had pretty decent beds and valet service.
Outside of that it was a pretty horrific experience. I'm not sure what's going on with/since covid but we've been surrounded by bad service in Los Angeles, I'm not even sure if I'm doing justice for the community. But with that being said ...
We checked in pretty flawlessly, the valet guy was really pleasant and prompt to help us. We got to our room and it was nice, there's a small kitchen with a sink on the outside of the bathroom, fridge and microwave

The location and some staff are about all I would recommend. The room cleanliness is not there. Walking around barefoot for a few minutes left my feet very dirty, it was clear they probably don't vacuum. The shower walls had mildew on them. During our stay wifi did not work at all. We asked about it at the front desk and the person there literally said "I'm not working today".... as she was sitting behind the desk. Valet was quick, and the check in/check out staff were helpful and attentive. They need to step up the cleanliness to make this stay worth it. It's too bad because the location is very

I stayed here for a weekend and I loved it. It's walking distance to little Italy, lots of other bars and restaurants, also 10 min walk to the waterfront park where Taco Fest was going on. Micheal at the front desk was really nice and welcoming. Our room was clean with no toilet issues. (I was worried after seeing the other reviews) and there's a lot of really cool art everywhere in the hotel. Plus the 4th floor balconies have a nice very and are totally relaxing.

Just checked out and can I say this place was perfect! It was affordable, it was right in the center or little Italy, it was clean and we just felt like it was the perfect fit for us. Staff was amazing and incredibly nice. Michael was the best. Super friendly, considerate and helpful. Tim was also great the valet guy!
The only downside was I believe the hotel could use some repairs on the deadbolts to the hotel room doors. We accidentally locked ourselves out one night. Thank God we had Michael to save the day.

Michael gets 5 stars for being so helpful and an amazing supervisor! We were booked in a wedding block so obviously we were there for a wedding. We received a call from Heather who called twice while we were at the wedding and had an attitude for absolutely no reason. She accused us of being in 3 different rooms and said she was going to charge our card on file. There was only two of us in the room so I'm not sure how we would be using 3 different rooms. Someone didn't know what they were doing but Michael came to save the day and took care of it for us. The rooms are pretty old and very

We had to cancel our reservation in July 2021 due to surgery recovery taking longer than expected. We emailed. We called. Twice and talked to "Heather." They still charged our credit card for our stay. We disputed it to our card and this hotel tried to say we stayed there! They could not even provide a receipt we'd signed. It's too bad because we stayed here in 2019 and liked it. It's in a great location to walk around Little Italy and to visit Coronado Island beaches. But apparently, they can't handle cancellations. Beware if you book!

We have to come to San Diego for medical reasons several times a year. We have stayed at the Porto vista hotel many times over the last 3 years while visiting Dr's. in the area, Its is a clean and nice hotel very convenient to everything in little Italy. I have to say the staff we have interacted with are super nice! Michael Strickland the front desk Supervisor was so helpful to us and went out of his way to make our stay a great one. Tim the Valet, is awesome as well, took care of our big truck and parked it for us when other hotels tell us its too big. Overall the rooms are nice and clean, sometimes

Do yourself a service and invest in upgrade in a different location. This place is a not worth giving a review other than don't stay here unless you plan on getting drunk numb yourself for the night than ok, not worth paying that much for what it offers. You can stay at the double tree for the same price. Needs a make over.

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD. We booked through airbnb for a 2 night stay and got double charged for the room . Once through airbnb and once through the front desk . WE WERE ON ONLY SUPPOSED TO HAVE GOTTEN CHARGED A $100 deposit and $70 for two day valet parking, which we agreed to.
WERE VERY UNHAPPY WITH OUR EXPERIENCE HERE.
This place seems like a scam we stayed on the phone for two hours trying to contact someone in the hotel /front desk and instead we were directed to a call center in oregon that makes the reservations for people . WILD. If you manage to get a hold of front

I have to give a shout out to the outstanding staff. They were friendly and helpful. Beyond the service, our stay was disappointing. The room was basic and had tile floor, which was great but it was filthy! The beds were okaynot the worst and at least clean. The other reviews stated that the water doesn't drain...they were not kidding! We had to turn off the shower as we were washing so it would not overflow! Not to mention waiting 15-20 minutes in between showers. Don't get me started on the elevator! 20 minute wait just to go down one floor! If it were not for the location

This hotel gets a single star purely for the good location. Literally one of the worst places I've stayed EVER and I will cut my trip short just to get out of it. Coffee pot - barely puts out water. Ok, not a deal breaker but a definite disappointment. Air conditioner did not work. Was cooler outside than in, and to avoid overheating I had to sleep with the window open. Needless to say I didn't sleep much. Was told when I called the front desk that "she wasn't a mechanic. Sorry." TV won't turn on. Checked all the connections, batteries, etc. Nothing. Bed? I imagine

This is the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Pictures are very deceiving. The front lobby is nice and Michael at the front desk was great but the rooms and hotel are beat up and run down. Checked into room 402, there was blood on the bathroom door and toilet didn't work. We were than moved to 502, elevators didn't work so we had to use maintenance elevators and they were dark and gross. We were given a bell cart which remained in front of our door the entire stay. We froze the fist night because the heater was broken, didnt get repaired till the following evening. It had
