The Atwood Hotel

My stay was fine, just know they will charge you the safe deposit box fee, unless you tell them to removed it. but seriously why is every night $999? now i want to rebook, does atwood no longer want anyone staying there?

This is pretty much a bare bones hotel but was clean enough and the staff were friendly. I did notice later that there was a charge of $3.32 on my credit card from Atwood, even though I booked through Hotwire. After several calls, I finally talked to someone and they said that they charge $1.16 each day for the safe in the room. I said that I did not use the safe and they refunded the $3.32. I have never heard of a hotel charging you for the in-room safe.

Nice of you to inform us of a cancellation with no given reason 4 days before our trip, leaving us scrambling to find a new hotel. I booked our stay three months ago. This is ridiculous.

Hotel has character but shower water pressure would randomly drop to zero and was difficult to figure out how to keep warm? There were lots of dead ants in my bathroom and cleanliness was ‘dingy’ and was overall low quality. Front desk people were nice, though. Glad I only stayed here for one night.

Great hotel! They will match prices if you find a lower price! Great customer service, very friendly helpful and informative. The room was clean, spacious and very nice. Big comfy beds! I will make this my regular hotel!

This was a nice hotel! I was able to check in fairly early. clean, modern room with the most comfortable fluffy bed and little side chairs I think I've ever felt in a hotel. Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, cable tv in room. Lots of free parking right in front of your room. Big pool & jacuzzi open till 9. Convenient liquor store & pizza place located on the property, just a 20 second walk from any room.
Through a 3rd party booking app I paid $75 for the night I think? & With just a $60 deposit, Instead of the usual $100 or more at most hotels, this place was a steal for the quality. The lobby

Pillow is like a bag of doorknobs, hard and lumpy. We were put in an accessible room and we didn't request it. The shower had cold water only sometimes warm. The towels are very small. Won't be coming back. It did have vinyl flooring which is better than dirty carpet. Paid 140 a night expensive for what we received

The girls at the front desk were pretty nice but the room needs A LOT of work. The AC gave no cool air yet made the loudest noise ever which made it impossible to sleep. The shower plumbing made a lot of noise whenever I tried to get warm water. There were several bugs on the walls and bathroom. Also one toilet paper roll, one body towel, and one hand towel is not enough for a stay of 3 days and 4 people. You will never get complete silence staying here. It was 5am and I could still hear people talking and yelling outside and no one seems to care. This hotel basically gives you everything you need

I might rate this a bit higher if it was a slightly cheaper hotel. My wife convinced me to spend a bit extra on a mid-range hotel rather than the $99-a-night type hotels/motels. I'm usually not all that demanding or have high expectations of the hotels we stay at. It's just that at that price, we were disappointed. We've stayed in $99 hotels that were more satisfying, and in retrospect we should have saved ourselves the money.

When we checked into the hotel the service was top notch. We said we brought our pup and they instantly gave us a room downstairs for easy access for potty time. They gave us extra towels for the jacuzzi and we were already happy. When we walked into the room the room was spotless, smelt clean, with laminate floors and a cute little space. The beds were comfy. We enjoyed the jacuzzi with the perfect temp and the awesome music. There is a Waffle House and liquor store in walking distance which was awesome!!! We really loved our stay. We are definitely coming back.

Pretty decent hotel for a few days stay. Conveniently located with access to the highway and walking distance to a restaurant. Our safe wasn't working our first day but it was resolved by the people at the front desk and maintenance. We were a little nervous to use it for the rest of our stay though. Otherwise, would recommend this place if you are making last minute plans or plan to be out the whole day and just need a place to sleep.

So this place is nothing to really write home about. It has a bed, a bathroom and a shower. All could definitely use updating.

what I will say, they don't, I repeat DO NOT clean the rooms. We NEVER had service to clean our room in the entire 5 nights we were there. Not even garbage. There was no note about this, or notification of the process when we checked in. We had to call and ask after 3 days and the desk agent acted like we were ridiculous asking for housekeeping service. Do you even clean the rooms between guests? Also two towels, one washcloth and one hand towel is not enough for

Front desk staff was very friendly. Clean and inviting. Room was clean, bed comfy, fridge worked great, a/c unit was loud but worked well. Water pressure wasn't the greatest. Room 209 must be a maintenance room or where the maids go to restock their carts so staying below it was extremely loud. I would not suggest staying in room 109 if you want to sleep in. Overall good experience and I would stay here again.

This hotel is the absolute worst. I would get it negative stars if I could. There are no rules listed about late check ins for there hotel so I assumed like most hotels, me arriving late would not be a problem. However, when I finally arrived, I was told I was marked as a "no show" and there were no available rooms for me to stay. I was never contacted by the hotel or informed about this policy. And now they are trying to keep from giving me a refund. I cannot say anything about the rooms as I was not able to (and never will) stay here but I can say they are understaffed with horrible

Pros: room is spacious, there is a fridge and microwave. Looks like it was remodeled to look more modern. Love the wood floors. Even though it’s right off freeway you can’t hear any traffic with windows closed. AC worked great. Receptionists were very nice.
Cons: Floors were very dirty, bathroom sink backs up, pool was dirty, towels are cheap and stained, comforter was stained, microwave was dirty on the inside, AC was very loud and thin walls, heard baby crying next door and people walking above us.

This hotel was not very nice to us, sure the pictures may look nice and all but in the end the management is terrible, "understaffed." During the check in the person at the front desk kept pushing back available room check-ins for us (We traveled from Las Vegas to San Diego in a group of 7) We had purchased 2x 1 king sized bedrooms and 1x 2 queen sized bedrooms, check in was delayed about 8 hours upon arrival to San Diego... this hotel is not the move. Plus during one of the stays I got up to use the restroom and when I did I seen a small roach walking around behind

If I can give this place a negative one star I would, worst place I've had stayed and never again. Don't let them pictures fool you.The front desk receptionist staff needs to communicate better with there cleaning staff and customers, they are unprofessional. Didn't seem to care. They told us last minute same day we arrived that they had to moved our check in from 9am to 3pm then to tell us our rooms are NOT ready that we will have to wait another hour. Then to tell us they only have one room available, after two hours later we only got two rooms out of the three we had booked. Worst

This hotel was pretty bad even for the price. When we got there the fridge was leaking everywhere because it was turned down all the way and melting the freezer section of it, there were weird crusty yellow splotches on the floor, you literally couldn't walk through the hotel room barefoot without your feet turning black even after they mopped halfway through us being there, there was writing on the comforters (which seemed crazy since they charge you a ridiculous amount for even getting makeup on any of their towels or bedding), there was a CONSISTENT and extremely loud drilling noise that

Front desk gave away our rooms that had been paid for and reserved on a holiday weekend . refused to give management's number or a different customer service line very unhelpful would not recommend spending any of your money at this place dishonest !!!!

This hotel is so cool . Much different than most; I'd compare The Atwood Hotel 's. Savoire faire. quite closely to the well established hotels in Our West Coast. It seems that William Randolph Hearst did the do on our beloved state California. Many years ago a rare fruit hobbyist told me " when you live ,leave something behind ". Meaning don't leave the earth without giving back so to speak as in the way William Randolph Hearst left his memories. The Atwood Hotel is a perfect example . Lisa C.

Good location at a reasonable price. Pet friendly but a larger pet area would be nice. The independent restaurant is a step above average, although the ambiance is pretty basic, the staff is very nice. Our room was nice and fresh but there is only one bedside lamp and an over the sink light for the entire area.
We would stay again.

Just stayed at this hotel from 5/4/19 to 6/4/19. Stayed in room 128 which is a bottom level room. First impression was it was nice for the price. However that quickly changed due to the extremely run down… appearance in the bathroom such as tile, trim and nasty looking. There was what appeared to be marker marks ALL over the floor. Our fun really started on night one I was woken repeatedly between 12 am and 4 am by the AC unit making god awful noises. Turning the thermostat up seemed to help with it no longer making the noises.
