We invite you to experience the resounding elegance of old New Orleans at the Hotel de la Monnaie without leaving any of the modern conveniences and comforts of home behind. A city of many monikers and many cultures, New Orleans lingers on the threshold between the Old World and the New, between history and legend.

European traditions blend with Caribbean influences that can be seen in our street names, colorful local architecture, lacy ironwork, spicy cuisine and incomparable music. A city steeped in tradition continues to offer the magic and spirit that visitors have loved for decades. Now is the time to make your dream of visiting the Crescent City come true!
Services
Situated on Esplanade Avenue at the Mississippi River, the Hotel de la Monnaie rises majestically as a gateway to the historic Vieux Carre, or "Old Quarter." Our close proximity to the city's major attractions, music venues and dining establishments insures access to a charming mix of the old and ever-evolving New Orleans.
Hotel de la Monnaie (HdlM) sits on the edge of the French Quarter on Esplanade Avenue, less than a block from the French Market on one side and the Frenchmen Street music corridor on another. Complimentary limited parking is offered in our garage on a space available, first-come basis. Convenient paid parking lots are also located nearby, as well as parking meters on surrounding streets.
There are over two thousand owners at Hotel de la Monnaie who have purchased one or more weeks of lodging. Each ownership is for a designated suite during a specific week of the year. Annual maintenance fees are much more affordable than rental rates and owners can count on being able to occupy their deeded lodging every year.
It's been said that the French Quarter begins at the Hotel de la Monnaie. Jackson Square, the majestic St. Louis Cathedral, Le Petit Theatre, the Presbytere and Cabildo, and the French Market are all in easy walking distance, as are the Steamboat Natchez, world-famous Bourbon Street and the exciting Frenchmen music corridor.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We love the location with close proximity to the French market, Frenchman street, restaurants and bars. The courtyards are lovely and the balcony is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink. The kitchenettes are a nice convenience.

We expected a unique experience in the French Quarter and this place falls short of a desirable one. Place is kind of dated, old carpeting on floor, lots of charm though! Place is a little less nice than expected, 2 days were quiet, while the 3rd night (Thursday) the place was noisy from the adjacent night club until late. Bass thumped thruout the bedrooms. Good for ambiance, not for comfort. Oh, btw the bed was repaired with some type of thin particle board that made loud creaking and squeaky sounds, waking up my partner, whenever I got out of bed.

I don't know how to rate this. The hotel was great, everyone from the staff was friendly and helpful, EXCEPT the front desk clerk. He was rude, not at all helpful, seemed to try to make things worse instead of solution oriented. I believe his name is Henry. Because of his behavior, I would not go back.

The location was perfect and within a few blocks to the French Quarter and restaurants. The staff was very professional and always willing to help. The hotel was maintained very nicely however our room was very dated retro 1980; This room really needed some updating and felt very gloomy and dark and possibly a previous smoking room. I have heard that this hotel is a timeshare and every room could be different Other than dated room, the stay was good and affordable.

Decided to celebrate 2 years of my partner and I being together with a surprise trip to New Orleans and we stayed here at this hotel memorial Day weekend. It was absolutely beautiful I really loved that there was free parking however because the drop off location was all filled I ended up going to the parking lot directly behind which is paid parking for my stay which wasn't expensive at all. The hotel room was gorgeous they had a hot plate microwave refrigerator if we were staying longer it would have been perfect we could have just gone up to the local market to grab food and bring it back to

Dated decor, unusual architecture, a couple dozen parking spaces crammed into a basement, and more character than all the big name generic hotels in New Orleans combined. If you want forgettable don’t go to de la Monnaie. If you want a real New Orleans hotel experience with quirky style and nice people, I highly recommend this place. As a semi-local who has stayed at many hotels in and around the French quarter over the years, I have now found my favorite. The location is perfect and the staff was unbelievably helpful. Our last night there we came in at 1am to find our ac thermostat had broken

Great location! So close to French Market, steps from Hop on Hop Off Bus stop #3 Esplanade. Awesome local vibe near Frenchman St. Walking distance to Jackson Square. Excellent customer service, Mr. Henry gave us very good restaurant recommendations. We loved the 2 bedroom suite, perfect for families! Arrive early so you can claim a free parking space! Only 4 stars because expensive daily rate did NOT include maid service.

The hotel was really 😞disappointing. There was no one to help us st the door with our things in the rain. No one told us about the snack bar on the second floor. There was no real room cleaning, if you put towels out, they were replaced if you snagged staff, same is true of emptying trash. GARAGE is small and difficult, not enough space for all guests. Water was turned off without notice, the fire went off because a guest cooked in the room. There is a stove top. The hotels rooms are tiny even a "suite", no closet in the bedroom, it's in the living room.
