I was excited to come to Hollywood for the first time, I chose this hotel for the price and location. First, it needs to be remodeled badly. It’s stuck at least 30 years in the past. Secondly, the night receptionist needs to be more polite and positive. He was rude and inconsiderate in his manners toward the customers. Act like you want your customers in your hotel. Don’t be short and condescending. It also has a slight cigarette smell. The only thing positive from the hotel is the girl in the morning who was kind and understanding of our complaints. This Hotel is a little gem. It is very basic but for the price it is very good. The staff were nice and friendly. Their do take a $250 deposit when you check in but I got mine back within 24 hours of checking out. The location is fantastic. It is no more then a two minute walk to Hollywood Boulevard and where all the action is. Great view of the Hollywood Sign at the end of the street. Also there is a 7/11 and a subway restaurant across the road which is very handy.
I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone who likes a standard room and good value for money. It is a great base for touring

Fair hotel. Late check-in, early check-out, which is becoming more standard these days, but one thing that's never been standard is a $250 deposit for a 1-night stay. I get the pleasure of paying full-price of the room and now get to play the waiting game to see how many days or weeks it takes for this stupid hold to wear off. If you could just remove the hold within 2-3 days after the stay, that would be fine, but that's too much to ask, apparently.

I had some reservations before arriving but I can say that this is a fantastic place! Avery at the front desk could not have been more friendly! and he seemed sincerely interested in what you had to say instead of just making small talk.
The room was clean and the space was perfect for us. The location is ideal, not too close to the craziness of Hollywood blvd but close enough that you can walk over. Great options nearby for drinks and food. For the price you pay, you cannot ask for more. 5 stars!

I booked for the weekend. I was truly looking to this getaway but today my cousin called and her mom is in the ER with Covid and she also had Covid. So, I had to cancel my trip. Tyrell was absolutely the most polite, professional and understanding representative for The Hotel Hollywood. Though I haven't stayed yet , I will book as soon as my families situation changes. Thanks Tyrell can't wait to meet you when I get there. You were amazing !

I stayed there for 3 night back before the pandemic. I think most of the people chose this hotel due to it's location, but it's a double-edge sword: what was positive was that the Fly-Away bus takes you almost directly there from LAX, so you have a cheap, relatively fast and convenient ride in-and-out when visiting and you can hike up to the Hollywood sign directly from the hotel, it's walkable distance. On the other hand next time I would not stay in Hollywood, but rather somewhere cleaner and "nicer", the Hollywood Boulevard rigs of urine day and night and it's not a very interesting site, I

Scammed! Huge inconvenience!! I had booked a room for two days a month in advance. I searched for rooms that were pet friendly and came across this one it said in the ad service animals welcomed and exempt from fees. When the day came November 22 I went to check in between 7 and 7:30 pm, I had a bad feeling about the young woman that answered the locked door . She Asked if I was checking in and I said yes, then she let me in with my new service puppy. Small room with a slightly dated decor asthetic. But for a one night stay for me, it was clean, comfortable and offered everything I needed. The lady who checked me in was kind and polite. Location of the Hotel was very convenient.

The photos online do NOT reflect the true state of the rooms.
Super dirty and dingy everything from the walls, the shower, the window curtains, the bedding you name it, it was all pretty gross. Everything needed dusting, towels were cheap and thin and left pilly peices all over us.
I barely wanted to sleep in the bed, thank god we were only there for a night.
To add the neighbors in the next door property were loud and opened their windows and blasted music early in the am.

Nice quiet and clean hotel. It's close to lots of restaurants and a 7-Eleven as well. Front desk is professional and pleasant.
Drawbacks of staying here are there is a $100 room deposit charged at check in, no microwave in the room, no flat iron, no ironing board, no coffee maker, no alarm clock, no fitness center, no swimming pool.

The Hotel Hollywood is a decent place to stay in Hollywood that is affordable and close to a lot of attractions. My boyfriend and I stayed here to go to Universal Studios.
The room itself was clean but quite small. The bathroom was a decent size with a pretty nice shower (it looked like a new shower unit was put in). They had the usual toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, a face bar (which smelled lovely), and even make up remover wipes. The bed was comfortable and sheets were nice and clean.
They have breakfast which is very light and consisted of croissants, muffins, coffee, orange juice

Horrible customer service. Sad I tried purchasing a room through their number for my brother and his wife who had a serious procedure planned for the next day. I thought I would get them a room close to where it was being performed so they didn't have to drive hours back and forth making it more stressful. I was lied to and when they showed up to check in the staff was more then rude and nasty to them. Making it more stressful that they even went. I'm disappointed and highly recommend going elsewhere. I suggest you look at the photos of this hotel- very gross and repulsive. It's very unclean with cockroaches. Don't take my word for it -just do the research. Also, if you have to cancel for any reason... any type of family emergency perhaps-they will not refund your money- Even if plenty of notice.

I am sorry but having fewer immunities does not rate a Hotel for me. This place is so quaint and clean and the service was unreal. Please give it a try. Walking distance Pantages, the capital building. The famous Hollywood & vine. $20 to park in a gated yard. Tamika was lovely and Roxanne stayed and waited for us to get back from Hamilton!! Great memorable stay!!

This hotel was just overall OK. If I were giving stars for staff alone it would be 5 stars. Viola & I think her name was Amy were so nice and informative. They always made it a point to say hello and offered us everything we needed.
The parking alone is horrible. $25 a night in a sketchy lot down the street. Our room was on the first floor which was nice, however our room was extremely small for even 2 people and our view was of a dumpster for the other building. I loved my stay in room 403 especially since it's on the same floor as the pool. Tried Yamashiro (the restaurant up above) and was truly disappointed. Really enjoyed Katsuya on Hollywood Blvd at Vine for great and I mean great service and 5 Star food.
Only problem, the hotel over charged my credit card $175.00. WHAT? I was a walk-in and always pay cash; they insisted on using my card for guarantee. That's a pretty expensive guarantee. I was shocked that they would take my full payment in cash and still charge my card. Poor business.

If you're looking for something inexpensive impeccably clean and extremely convenient you've found the right place.
I was going to a concert at Pantages with my mother and this hotel was right around the corner, less than a 5 minute walk.
The rooms are small but efficient. All we needed was a bathroom to get ready in and a bed to sleep in.
The front door locks at 10 PM but there's an access code for guests to enter after hours.
They don't include parking but if you know how to park in Hollywood it's not that difficult and for the price it's obviously not

Looks great upon entrance, but as of 2014, much of the hotel is under construction. We were put in a room that a had a strong smoky, chemical smell (on the second floor) and had to ask to relocate. Fortunately, it was morning, and they had one room on the first floor available. (I got the impression that they were going to give our room to the people arriving later that day).
The rooms were fairly clean, but some nooks were overlooked. For example, the dresser drawers had dust and hair in them. Our room on the first floor had noise outside 24/7; sounded like some kind of water pump or A/C compressor
