In the spring of 2017, two hairstylists met due to their passion for the hair industry. They soon discovered that they both had the same goals of someday owning and operating a boutique hair salon that focused on the client's experience. In the spring of 2019, those dreams became a reality and J & CO Hair Studio was born.
The studio was founded on an emphasis in continued education to stay up to date on the most modern trends and techniques. Maintaining the health and integrity of the hair is our top priority, while also making our guests feel as though they are in their second home. We hope you absolutely love J & CO Hair Studio.

Our guests are our #1 priority. J&CO requires a credit card to reserve your appointment. We understand busy schedules and different circumstances can not be avoided so we are happy to cancel your appointment with 24 hours notice or more. If any cancellation is not made with at least 24 hours notice you will be charged 50% of the service fee.

I can't rave enough of the absolutely positive experience I had at this hair salon! I just asked Siri for nearest salons near me and I'm so happy I chose J & CO Hair Salon! Nelson did an excellent shampoo and blowout! I loved the decor, the welcoming atmosphere and cleanliness. Plus I was pleasantly surprised with a $20.00 discount for being a first time customer! Highly recommend this salon! Will be a returning customer!

I did not like it. The managers were not helpful and very rude. We showed them the photo on what i wanted my hair to look like but they did the complete opposite . We told the managers that i did not like my hairstyle and want them to refund my money and they said no and it costs $ 300 and wasted my time and money. So i do not recommend this place. This place is not worth to go to.

I went to see Alaina for the second time since the pandemic & she did not disappoint once again. She also cut my 8 year old daughters hair this time (which was her first time ever getting a professional haircut as I’ve always been the one to cut her hair at home). My daughter is soooo in love with her hair. She doesn’t stop telling me over and over “mommy I love my new haircut” lol.

Nelson is a magical color genius who totally saved my hair. I was in town for two weeks from LA- where I just had my hair color ruined- a splotchy, bright yellow, horrifying blonde. I was literally embarrassed to go outside and needed it fixed ASAP. I was staying in Bucktown and reached out to the salon, and Nelson kindly asked for photos so she could thoughtfully assess the damage and see what my hair goals were. Had my hair cut for the first time since before the pandemic and since moving to the area. Alaina was wonderful - great attention to detail, excellent communication about the plan for the cut, very pleasant and fun experience overall. I followed Nelson to this salon and do not regret it! Nelson has been doing my hair for the past 4 years. She’s creative, considerate, but stern in the most ethical way in which leaves your hair so healthy. i trust her fully with all my hair and beauty concerns. so it was a no brainer following her to j & co. the shop is super cute and intimate. plus the shop manager, teddy, is easy on the eyes 😍

J & CO was an awesome find! I went to Alaina for a big chop and she nailed it - listened to exactly what I wanted, kept checking in on how the length and layers felt along the way, and styled it just how I like to wear it. I love the cut that I walked away with. They have a great deal for new clients, communicated parking options and detailed COVID requirements in advance, and it's a cute and cozy space for a beauty boost.

Nelson has been my stylist for 5+ years and I will follow her to the end of the earth! She is the only stylist that has ever made me feel so pretty & I am at ease in her chair knowing she is an absolute master of her craft. You can tell talking to her she has a huge passion for hair & is always keeping me trendy.
The salon felt so safe with Covid & it is like walking into a magazine, so gorgeous & cute in there! I truly don't need a haircut as often as I get one I just love any excuse to go to J&Co and see Nelson to get that beauty pick me up I need!

Firstly, the studio is gorgeous. Second, I've been seeing Kaylan for almost 2 years already and it has been a progressive process with me getting to my desired blonde. My goal was to eventually get to a blonde shade and I met her when I had my natural color black. These pictures showcase a product of the lightest we've ever done. It's been such a joy sitting in her chair experimenting on my indecisiveness of hair color inspirations from Chrissy Teigen to a bunch of other Pinterest ideas. Every time I get my hair done by Kaylan I feel like a brand new woman and am incredibly happy

Didn’t book with the main gals, which was maybe my mistake. It’s a beautiful salon with a cute puppy. But I’m so sad after my experience. I’ve been growing my hair out for my wedding and specified a trim .. an inch and half to two at most. I walked out with closer to 4 gone. I have before and after pics but am too sad with how much I wish I had kept the before. It’s a great place, but if you want to keep your length perhaps be very very specific.

I’ve passed J&Co for weeks and couldn’t get over how cute it looked so I took a leap and tried them out! I was paired with Alaina and she did an absolutely incredible job! I can’t remember a time I’ve loved my hair this much, if ever! After being stuck in quarantine and 8 months post-baby, I couldn’t be more thankful to feel this beautiful. Thank you Alaina! After getting my hair done with Jess there is no going back!! She is always willing to tackle my Rapunzel hair and gives the best advice. Jess listens to my vague hair ideas, provides suggestions and creates magic! I look forward to every appointment!

I went in for my first appointment with Kaylan and honestly it was one of the best hair appointments I have ever had. I got the hand tied extensions done and they are great!
Kaylan was very nice and gave me all the info I needed. This salon is definitely my new go to place, service was great, great location,great staff and they have a salon puppy! You can't ask for more honestly. A must go to place!

So excited I found my new hair salon! I came across J&Co on yelp when I was looking for somewhere in my new neighborhood so I need to give back and say that the reviews are absolutely true. The salon is GORGEOUS and so wonderfully styled. Nice couches and water, coffee, tea, white claw, or beer were offered. My appointment was with Kaylan and she was wonderful. She listened to what I wanted, a couple of inches off to get rid of the dead ends and bring up my layers. She did exactly that And there was no miscommunication at all. Jess completely TRANSFORMED my hair. I came in with two pictures and a vague idea of what I wanted. She listened, provided suggestions, and exceeded every expectation I had. I've gotten endless compliments on my balayage since. They are the best! I've been going to Jessica for a couple years now and she's incredible. I will come in and try to explain what I want and she exceeds my expectations every time!! This place is super cute and clean! I got my hair cut by Kaylan and loved it. I had some idea of what I wanted, she listened and offered suggestions also. The salon is new but they are all experienced stylists. Location is great- plenty of street parking on Western, or just around the corner on Wabansia. $20 off first time clients, and they have a referral program.

I could not speak highly enough of the hair stylists. I started going to Kalyan to get my hair cut about 3 years ago when she worked at a different studio. After 2 years of bad balayage treatments because of my dark hair, Kaylan nailed it the first time and the color was exactly what I wanted (softer browns, with some lighter strands) and after she toned it such that it wouldn't become a blond-caramel (the default tone for anyone that has black hair) it retained its color and faded beautiful. I'm so excited that she's opened her own studio and would never go to anyone except kaylan

Hair artistry at its finest! Ive recomended This gem to a few friends and they are all thrilled with their results. Im pretty picky about my color (red) and Jessica always does exactly what i like, even though i mix it up from time to time. Kaylan has helped me modernize my cut and has really helped me with my hair texture. I love that they have a salon puppy... he is such a love bug.
