My one-on-one fitness programs begin with an assessment of your personal health and fitness needs. We'll go over your baseline measurements, review your current diet, fitness goals, health history and injuries. From there, I'll create a workout and nutrition plan that is personalized to your individual lifestyle demands and goals.
Having struggled for decades to achieve a balanced, healthy approach to nutrition I completely understand the frustration many of my clients go through. JJ is one incredible trainer. I can't recommend him enough. I started with JJ 6 years ago as part of therapy to regain shoulder strength following a surgery. I've continued weekly sessions because he keeps me motivated, safe, and achieving my personal fitness goals. His expertise shows in how how my body reacts to his expert and never boring workout regimes. I continue to get compliments from friends and strangers; I can look at myself in the mirror, and think, "Huh, not bad for a 56 year old!"

JJ is hands down one the best massage therapists that I've had the pleasure of working with. He has no bias, qualms or judgement and was very attentive to my issues. Within the first few minutes, I knew that this was going to be a good massage. He has a very good sense for the body (he has more credits to him than just being a masseur, so that shows) and was able to feel the right level of pressure that I was responding to. Jonathan is one of the most skilled massage therapists I ever had. I had one hour sports massage session with him today. His massage studio is really clean and conveniently located next to Montgomery bart station. He worked on my shoulders and legs as those were my areas with most tension. I felt amazing and really relaxed after the massage. I would highly recommend Jonathan if you are looking for a good, professional massage.

You really can't overstate the value of knowing you're working with a warm, highly knowledgeable massage therapist. One who is guaranteed to listen to your needs, remember them and follow through. A few years ago I wrote a review singing the praises of JJ Jordan, a personal trainer I've worked with for 3+ years. I feel it's time to update that review by saying that, somehow, JJ has grown EVEN STRONGER over the years. When I met him, he had an astounding wealth of knowledge on exercise and nutrition, but since then he's significantly ADDED to it, making him what has to be one of the most well-rounded fitness experts in the city.

I recently had a massage with JJ and can honestly say it was one of the best ones I can remember getting. His massage space is very clean, organized and relaxing to be in and if you've not met him yet JJ is both hilarious and incredibly warm- which does a wonderful job at putting you at ease and separating your session time from all the chaos of the day.
Getting down to the brass tacks of things however what really matters is the massage itself and JJ doesn't disappoint. Never did his pressure exceed what I was comfortable with and I felt like he did a great job reading my physical response

I just retired as a software engineer, and after many years of sitting in front of a computer, various muscles are tighter or shorter than they should be, causing lower-back pain. JJ is helping to undo all that, not only through his massage, which can be intense, but in explaining how the muscles are connected, and how these can manifest as lower-back pain even when that's not the source of the problem. JJ's massages are awesome - and I am (dare I say it) not even a big massage person. But all that has changed since seeing JJ for monthly sports massages. A revved up strength training program had been taking its toll and the massages have been a godsend in terms of alleviating that stiffness and soreness. What I really love about JJ though is that he takes a very targeted and thoughtful approach - looking for potential imbalances and finding real solutions. I have also been recovering from a foot injury since last summer (that required two surgeries to fix) and the massages have helped there

I hesitate to write this review for JJ as a massage therapist because then folks might discover the SF wellness scene's best kept secret. I saw JJ while training for the Boston Marathon on top of a demanding schedule as a fitness (indoor cycling) instructor. It's no coincidence I PR'd in my race!
