Nick Fit is founded by Nick Smith, a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Corrective Exercise Specialist, Nutrition Coach, Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) through the California Massage Therapy Council, Master Rank black belt in Korean Karate (Chin Mu Kwan Tae Kwon Do Federation), TRX Certified, P90X Certified, multi-sport athlete, Physical Therapy Assisting and most of all a teacher of your body.
Nick is a graduate of Arcadia University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. The function of the human body is his passion. He learned corrective exercises and stabilization techniques while working both as a volunteer and in positions at numerous physical therapy clinics and incorporates these elements into his workout progressions.

I've worked out with Nick on and off for several years. Whenever I've had to stop because life gets in the way, I always find my way back to Nick to get my butt back in shape. He really know his clients, no clip boards or static, boring routines.
After taking a year off working out due to surgery and laziness, Nick worked around my injuries to get me back to sexy and strong.
Nick is a life long learner and is constantly adding to his education to being a wholistic approach to the body.

I injured my right shoulder in December of 2018 and was sent to an Orthopedic Knee & Shoulder surgeon. Said surgeon came with many positive outcomes and boosted an impressive roster of sport celebrities. The MRI showed a "frozen shoulder". I was sent to physical therapy, but their program did not work for me and I was getting worse. Enter FitNick! We sat and talked about my situation for an hour and he showed me moving anatomy photos from his phone (in color no less) explaining my injurie in words I could understand. I've worked out with trainers regularly for over 15 years - some better than others. I've now been with Nick for over a year and he's definitely at the top of the spectrum. He's treated my injuries by getting a thorough understanding of them and then modifying workouts to address the root causes. My flexibility has grown tremendously. His body-weight stuff is unparalleled. He breaks down complex movements like muscle-ups and pistol squats into smaller movements so I can practice them individually and eventually string them together to execute the entire movement. Your work out taken to another level. Looking forward to another high intense training year with Nick this year 2020. His method of combining Calisthenics, bands, bars and kettlebell have given me strength, coordination, mental agility and a great posture. Before I started working out with Nick I was unsuccessfully dealing with double shoulder impingement, sciatic nerve pain, knee, wrist, and neck pain. Suffice it to say I was not in good shape. On my first session Nick pulled out his phone and showed me on his favorite anatomy app exactly the muscle imbalances that were causing my problems and immediately started a workout plan to fix them.

Ive has several deep tissue massages with nick, and hes able to break up knots and scar tissue extremely well. I have a lot of weird issues from overusing my body when I was young, but he has a very keen awareness and ability to find and target my problem areas quickly by just feeling where i am tight. The massage definitely feels very personalized. He also listens carefully to any requests and is very passionate about helping people and doing a good job. Highly recommended!

I did a consultation with Nick when I decided to invest in a personal trainer. From the get-go Nick was super friendly, super passionate, and incredibly focused on my goals. Nick Smith is a Five-Star guy. I worked with him for several months to restore stability, strength and mobility to my injured (and aging) right knee. With his prior rehab experience, his education and his lifelong dedication as an accomplished multi-sport athlete, he really knows anatomy and body mechanics in detail and works this into every session.

Nick is an amazing trainer. I see him twice a week and at every session, he challenges me to push myself further every time. Smart, motivating, and wonderful eye candy (not to mention amazingly athletic). I've been training with Nick for almost a year now and have been very happy with the results, even looking forward to more positive changes over the next year. Although I suffer from a lower back disc herniation, within a few months of working with Nick my lower back pain diminished to undetectable levels which helped me stop regularly taking Ibuprofen to reduce my back pain as it has disappeared! I pulled a lower back muscle while I was playing basketball at the gym. My back is practically immobilized by the injury and had hard time moving around and I couldn't bend forward. It was very painful and I though I may have a disc prolapse. Thank god Nick gave me 2 sessions and I felt i was walking 2 inches above the ground. My pain is literally gone in less than 48 hours after the injury and I can bend forward and resume my daily activities. If it wasn't for Nick, I would be lying in pain. Thanks for the session and your intuitive touch. Hats off to you, you're far the best massage

Nick is a one of a kind trainer. For over 3 years now I have trained with him, and I can't imagine ever stopping! It is truly the best hour of my week. I love total body training, and with Nick, I get what I love, and never get bored. He keeps me on my toes (literally), and I feel great every time we finish training (albeit exhausted). Nick is my first personal trainer and I will never go back to working out solo! Nick worked closely with me on balancing diet with exercise and I saw tremendous results. I lost close to 15 lbs working out with him in a matter of months and significantly reduced my body fat % (reduced by ~10%). I feel strong - the healthiest I've been in my entire life. I never thought I'd be more fit in my 30s than my 20s but I am so glad that I have gotten to work out with Nick. He is patient, energetic and makes it fun - recommend him a ton!

Nick is the most incredible massage therapist I've ever been to (and over the years I have been to many in SF). He embodies what it means to be an intuitive healer, combining his professional training, athleticism, and intensive understanding of the body, with a practical, versatile, and compassionate approach to body work. After discovering his work several years ago, I have never gone to another provider and can't imagine that I will.

Nick's understanding of body mechanics, physiology and anatomy blows me away! I love that I can point to a particular feeling I get when I do an exercise and he can explain not only why it happens, but modify the exercise to accommodate my individual body's needs.
