I'm from Wisconsin and I'm a fan of cocktails. I've always wanted to try a Sazerac, you can get them in Wisconsin but I always wanted my first one to be an authentic New Orleans Sazerac. So I waited and waited, and today is my first day in NO and I happened by this place and ordered my first Sazerac. I don't know whether it luck or divine intervention that lead me here, but I'm really friggin glad I waited till this moment.

This property is very cute so imagine my disappointment at the horrible experience I had here. My friend and I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which is off the courtyard. The room had brick walls which were crumbling every day and on every surface around the room to include the box with the open coffee filters. It would land on me, the bed, and I even brought quiet a bit of grit home with me. At no point could we walk barefoot in this room.
Our room runs the length of the hotel courtyard which is seating for the hotel bar. Needless to say, it gets noisy once the bar opens (great drinks at the bar though

Such good cocktails with a lovely ambiance! Our food & drink tour guide recommended this place to my husband and me so we checked it out. You would probably walk right past Peychaud’s unless you were looking for it. The owner and staff were so friendly and attentive. We sat in the courtyard which is so nicely set up with both bistro tables and loungey couches. Great time, great drinks!

This bar was perfect for a more mellow alternative to the others in the area. The courtyard was beautiful and a great place to sit and relax with friends. Plenty of places to sit both inside and out. The drinks are a little higher in price compared to the other bars around but they are definitely worth it! The service was amazing and the staff made great drink recommendations. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Do not look at any reviews prior to 2021 when Sonder took over this historic hotel.
We have stayed at this historic hotel in the past when older reviews indicated this space had a fabulous staff and maintained a small luxury historical hotel in the heart of the French Quarter.
The Sonderization of this hotel is a travesty. There is not a single solitary person who is staffed at the building. If you have any problem with anything with your room, you must use an App that might or might not work and it takes hours to get a reply. There is no local number to call for any type of assistance. Just a half block off the famous Bourbon Street in the French Quarter on Toulouse is an amazing experience if you are ready for the experience of a historic 2 story, 11 room boutique hotel experience! Our bed was very comfortable, the room was well appointed and clean, and being able to sip coffee in the courtyard while listening to the excellent jazz band at The Court of Two Sisters restaurant next door was just a little icing on the cake. We were able to get some helpful hints from Guy and Darin, so we turned in our lease car and took the set price taxi to French Quarter. There is limited parking

Every aspect of our stay was magical! The staff is unbelievably welcoming, kind and considerate - it was my birthday and they even surprised me with a bottle of champagne! While this is a very noisy part of town (just a couple doors down from Bourbon St.) and we were on the street side of the hotel, we barely heard a sound, unless we ventured out on our balcony, where we could watch the goings on from a safe distance. There were gorgeous antique paintings hanging on the walls, a sparkling chandelier with a dimmer switch, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in and our very own voodoo

I came in to New Orleans with my husband for a convention last weekend and had the opportunity to stay here and I couldn't be happier. Great location, simply wonderful and charming boutique hotel and undoubtedly the most comfy bed I've ever slept on! The staff here actually treated us as if they cared what we thought, how we felt and made sure that we will return. If you stay here (and I strongly recommend that you do), say hi to Trina for me.

After looking forward to staying at Maison de Ville, our flight out of Dallas along with all other flights for the next 30 hours were cancelled due to icy conditions in New Orleans. After hiding from me for 3 days, I finally got through to someone at the hotel to inquire about refunding or at least rescheduling my reservation. I was told emphatically that they would not refund a dime of my reservation nor would they even entertain the idea about crediting me for a future stay. Steer clear of this place. After telling the bank to stop payment, the hotel personally called my banker to dispute

This is our favorite hotel in the French Quarter. It is a historic landmark, having once served as slave quarters for one of the local mansions. The rooms where the slaves lived might be the oldest structure in New Orleans, pre-dating the Civil War by decades.
This gorgeous hotel sits half a block off Bourbon Street, but is protected from the noise by its configuration. Two stories of rooms with balcony access sit around a quiet courtyard with a working fountain and the usual jungle of plants. The stairs are rickety, the floor boards chatter, but the beds are made for long, deep sleeps. This
