I went across the street, from the Inn at Virginia Mason, to the Baroness to use their vending machine. Another beautiful old building here in Seattle♥️

The front desk staff is fantastic. Especially Elizabeth who has lots of knowledge about the city. Great unique hotel. Please remember this is an older historic building so it has some quirks from renovations over the years. There were a few loose tiles in my bathroom and the electrical sockets are further away from the beds than in modern hotels. None of that stuff bothered me and I love old buildings. If you absolutely must have a more modern room you'll probably want to look around at surrounding hotels. But if you like a more unique stay for the price it's worth it...🙂

Well, it has no air conditioning for one thing. It was unusually hot when we were there in September and not very pleasant in the room. It's just an old hotel that's seen it's better days. If you like old hotels, however, then this a good choice.

Everything about the hotel was fine. The biggest problem was the day that I stayed there it was a huge heat wave in Seattle, and they do not have air conditioning in the rooms. This is not information I didn't know, but wasn't expecting to have to deal with. So just keep in mind if you stay there during one of the hottest days of the year, it's going to be real hot in your room. Otherwise lovely charming hotel

Nice place for the price. The staff was very kind to us. It did get kinda hot at night because there’s no air but it wasn’t too bad. Comfy room.

Woman working the desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Furnishings are dated, but everything felt well cleaned and maintained. Everything exceeded my expectations given the price. If you're looking for a good value this is the spot.

It was like going back in time to the thirties and I loved it. It's historic and clean and charming and yes, hot. Bring a sexy silk negligee turn on the fans and the jazz pour yourself a drink and relax for the weekend after that beastly traffic.

I enjoyed my stay at the Baroness Hotel. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I arrived several hours early to a helpful, professional staff who were kind enough to let me check in right away. The room was large and clean. The one thing I was surprised by was that it did not have AC, but I this was entirely due to my lack of checking before I booked this spot. This is an older building, so built-in AC is just not going to happen. There was a large fan already running when I got into the room. My one complaint about my stay, if any, would have been that the box fan was quite noisy, but it was definitely

AVOID AVOID AVOID (at least during the summer, assuming their heat works in the winter).
While much of the PNW set up cooling stations this weekend for yet another heat dome to protect people from heat stress, Baroness Hotel put up specials- specials for their rooms that have no running hot water (not that you would want to take a hot shower anyways), broken appliances with signs that state 'do not use,' no AC, and no parking. My friend booked a room based on the price. We didn't expect it to be the best but we didn't expect it to be this bad.
When we arrived, it was already 90 degrees in Seattle

We stayed there 15 nights while my daughter recuperated from her operation. Carol, the desk manager, was super friendly and definitely added the personal touch. I like “old” so I loved the lobby and the vintage elevator.🤪 the kitchen in the room worked out and we had most of our meals there, saving a bundle. The service people were friendly and efficient. We would definitely stay there next time.👍

The hotel has a "The Shining" feel to it... As the sign out front says, it was built in 1931 and is a historical landmark. It is outdated with wood paneling in the rooms, flooring peeling up in the kitchen, old fixtures, and old appliances (stove and oven). The door locks didn't appear to be very secure as they were loose and jiggled around. They seem like the could easily be opened with a card. The closets had a mildew smell to them, I believe due to the building be older and there not being many updates made to the inside. I would say the fixtures are probably from the 50&apos

We loved this hotel. The staff were so fun and friendly and we stayed downstairs talking to them about our hometown for quite a while when we checked in. The hotel has a lot of history- the staff told me that the elevator was 90 years old! Everything is very quaint and rustic in our room. Some people might just call it old but my husband and I loved the charm. The next day my husband had a huge interview and the woman at the desk helped him get his suit ready and offered helpful advice. We also planned to have another person with us and the cot was not available so they upgraded our room free

We stayed here while a family member was in Virginia Mason Hospital. Very convenient and the staff was very friendly. The hotel is extremely dated and the furniture is old and worn but I thought it had a bit of retro appeal. Reminded me of childhood and visiting my grandparents. Restaurant across the street is great.

I have no idea what this hotel is trying to do. For one thing, the drab furniture isn't charming or a throw back, it's extremely tacky and it's obvious that everything in those rooms was purchased from Goodwill about 40 years ago. Things are dusty and musty, and the curtains are old and frayed. The windows cannot possibly be up to city safety code, they open up pretty much to open air and if you have a small child make sure they don't go near them because they could easily slip out and fall. The heater was broken so we pretty much baked all night because we couldn't turn

The rooms are dated, but we expected that based on other reviews. Clean and comfortable. We walked, so parking wasn't an issue, although the hotel is up a pretty substantial hill. Price was fair for a location within the city. Nice lobby with computers for guest use, great cafe in the sister hotel across the street. Would definitely consider staying here again, especially for an extended stay because the kitchen area would be very handy.

Decent location in a historic building, but that's about it. Pricey for the amenities offered and parking is atrocious. Staff are helpful but not especially friendly; other than when I checked in, the desk clerk never said hello when I walked through the very small lobby. Room was clean and comfortable, but not exceptionally so. Located near several medical facilities so maybe good if that's what you need, but otherwise get used to lots of ambulance sirens.

When I first chose this hotel, I made my decision based on location and the beautiful pictures on the hotel website. When I got to the hotel and checked in, I was very disappointed with the cramped room and bathroom. I did think that the kitchen in the room was useful, but only to someone who would be staying multiple nights. The bathroom and kitchen was in my opinion, not exactly well-kept and when filling up a glass of water, I decided not to drink the water as there was black specks floating around in it. For the one night that I stayed, the price was astounding. Had the amenities been nicer

It was really terrible experience.
There was no tub stopper in the room.
And the staff (he) didn't have a mind to help me.
He even asked me that it's really need for me to
taking a shower.
I was waiting more than two hours.
And during that time I requested three times.
And there was no answer.

The Seattle is really beautiful city.
But we have some bad memory because
of this hotel.
Now I understand why there are many
people wrote not good review about this hotel.

It was my mistake staying here.

It 's not only because of the staff
but also of the smell in the room

Although somewhat close to downtown and pikes place, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless the price is good.

Paid 200$ a night and it was not worth it!
Customer service was nice, but that doesn't fix the oldness of the hotel, it is in need of some major renovation!

There was no AC, and it was so hot during our stay in Seattle. They had this portable fan. There was a full kitchen and a living room area which is nice and would be good for a bigger group. They do give free ice cold water in the lobby which was good.

Please renovate!

Had the most unfortunate stay of a lifetime. Virginia Masson hospital, suggested we stay at the Baronèss hotel because it is located across the street. Our daughter was having a major operation and this hotel is so convenient for running back and forth to rest. They gave us a hospital patient rate 159.00 per night plus parking located in back of said hotel for 20.00 per night.

Our room was 90 degrees with out air-conditioning one fan was provided per registration.
The room wasn't clean, and with the mold in the bathroom it turned my stomach.
I put on a pair of socks with-in the first

I am currently staying at the Baroness. When I first checked in I liked the old nostalgic feel, but I've been there for about 3 weeks now as my dad is in the hospital, and it is not nostalgic, it is old and gross.
The patient rate is $129.
The faucet in the bath tub leaks. I reported it two days ago and it was never fixed. I reported that along with the small bugs living in the wall in the bathroom that at first I thought was a flea. I killed two of them. One was biting me, the other I was picking up to look at and squished it. This morning I saw another one walking around. They are like

Lack of convenient handicap parking was disappointing. We checked in and went to our room on the 5th floor. Our room was around 85F. Called the front desk to figure out how to turn off the heat only to find out the heat WAS off. The guy at the front desk advised us to use the box fan located in the closet, to find some relief from the heat. So no air conditioning whatsoever and being on the 5th floor during the summer IS NOT advisable. We opened the small windows and cranked the box fan.

The beds were horrible spring mattresses that hurt to lay on, let alone sleep. The pillows were extremely

MAKE SURE U CHECK THE PICTURES! No a/c in rooms and the bed is pretty much plywood with a sheet, so I couldn't sleep all night. It's worth paying extra for a hotel you can get some sleep in since generally speaking that's why ppl get rooms to begin with. When I asked for a portable a/c the staff member was incredibly rude and condescending towards me. He said to me, "You shouldn't have picked the cheapest hotel in Seattle if the heat bugs you." This place has no business calling what they do Hospitality. We already paid for another night but will not be staying for

This old Girl is from the 1920's and she is showing her age. But for those that know what to look for it is very cool, the architecture is beautiful, and the rooms are pretty large. There is no AC but there are fans in each room and with the windows open it is nice. The bathroom is a bit small, but it is from the twenties and even has a separate makeup room for the ladies.

I dig the very cool old skool vibe

There are a number of advantages, for the old sick guy waiting around for the folk at Virginia Mason to do something, to staying at the Baroness.

You can make your guests tea and serve it to them in a mug with swollen purple grapes sprawled over a black and white checkered background, and savor the sight of them recoiling in aesthetic revulsion.

You can vacate the one comfy chair for just long enough that a guest decides to sit in it, and then exercise your old sick guy privileges and boot them out again.

You can decide it's time for a nap and boot everyone out of the room altogether, forcing
