I was nervous to stay here based on the wide spectrum of reviews. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The room was basic, clean, and slightly modern. I would compare the rooms to staying at a Holiday Inn, but not dank and old as I was expecting from other reviews. The bathroom was tiny, but had a few shelves. I’ve listed my pros and cons below.
—Pros—
Clean room
Location was awesome (walkable downtown Newport & so many restaurants)
Early check-in available (1st come, 1st serve)
Complimentary waters at the front desk
— Cons—
Outlets & door lock in the bathroom didn’t work

Location, perfect view of marina with spacious balcony. The 2 double Beds were comfy. Wish there was a microwave. Yes rooms weren't perfect but clean. Didn't understand the $30.00 a Day resort fee as sauna wasn't working and onsite restaurant/ bar didn't appear to be open. Maybe just say parking fee? Or give to your housekeeping staff? Other than that it's typical Newport...it was $893.00 for Saturday- Monday stay.

The hotel was fine. Nothing special, basic room. The drain was a bit slow the drain in the sink and tub. The highlight of the stay? We were staying with our 5 year old son and I asked if they could push the bed against the wall. They told me they could not but they had another solution. A very large, very dark and very jolly Haitian man came with 30 pillows to stuff in the gap. He made my son very happy. We would probably stay again.

This place was very disappointing. Based on the location, price, and information online, it looked like a nice hotel. Unfortunately it's not exactly. The rooms are clean, that was an important thing. Oh and the staff were nice. Here were our issues: restaurant closed on Tuesdays but this information is not clearly shared. so when we realized this we asked for recommendations locally. Two out of three places recommended to us were also completely closed. There is no little store area where you can buy anything at all. not even a shelf with snacks. When we asked, we were referred to the vending machines

We were in town for a family wedding and stayed at this hotel. It’s a tired place and desperately in need of a facelift. Rooms are small. Our room in particular had a slow sink drain, a torn window screen and a broken safety latch. Actually, the latch was missing completely. “Corporate” made the decision not to allow staff to stow any luggage - a major inconvenience. The coffee shop and bar had limited hours. A disappointing stay. Either do it right or don’t do it all.

The hotel guest service girl was very friendly and helpful. First impressions are always made with the first person you interact with so they definitely hired a good person to work the front desk. The fire pit pool and hammocks where great to enjoy in between going to bars and dinner. The room was nice I would say my only complaint was the bed it wasn't very comfortable but it was only for a night so whatever

Good location and decent sized room. We had a great view of the water directly facing the gorgeous sunset. Lots of places to sit outside downstairs at tables or around the fire pit. No breakfast included although there were items available to purchase plus there is a Starbucks across the road ;). Room smelled quite dank needed a good airing.

Incredibly expensive at about $750 per night. Worth it? Maybe not. I really did enjoy the harbor view with a public / community fire pit, however on the ground level there were no rules for noise with incredibly loud parties and drunk groups running around all hours of the night, the room was stupid hot, which the staff said was due to the "large windows, it's always hot no matter how long or low you turn on the AC." No fan in the bathroom, flat pillows, and finally, no special accommodations even after stating multiple times in advance this was for our engagement.

The most disturbing thing about my stay was that there were clear signs that this room hadn't had a proper cleaning in what seemed like a loong time. I understand being short staffed but cleanliness should be top priority and even more so in a pandemic. There was blood stains on the sheets, a diaper and baby powder behind the bed. As well as remnants all over the carpet showing there hasn't been sign of a vacuum in months. Needless to say, I felt like I needed a shower after staying here... One of my friends paid for me to stay here to visit and let me say, I would never pay $400 myself

Good location, but that's it. The room was outdated. Paint chipping in the bathroom. Mold in the bathroom. Room smelled of urine. Walls are so thin you can hear everything. Access to the back of the property was through the saunas. Asked for clean towels, because due to a staffing issue they won't clean or replenish your room unless you ask, but never received the towels. The towels are thread bare. AC barely worked. Paid way too much for the room considering all of the above!

The location is great but the rooms are just absolutely nasty. The cleaning policies need some major work. I found multiple objects from the people staying here before including: a lego piece, a piece of gum, an M&M, and cracker crumbs. I also found a live worm on the wall. The bathroom looks outdated with peeling wallpaper and mold specs above the bath tub. The indoor pool looks dirty and old. The entire building itself just needs a renovation. The maids weren't doing a good job cleaning the bathroom, when I pointed my black

Excellent hospitality and service at the front desk. They accommodated our request for the ocean-side room and let us know that they would light the outdoor fireplace for us if wed like, all we needed to do was ask. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only negative was that the indoor pool did not seem very clean. (The tiles around the pool were slimy and had grime and the pool water had a milky discoloration) And also that you can hear everything outside in the hall way ( kids were partying until 3am and we could hear them coming and going and slamming doors/yelling

A room with a "historic downtown view" of... a 2009 Hyundai Elantra? Headlights shining into my room all night? My view was of the parking lot. This place is sooo overpriced for what it is. Over $300 a night and my room was 8 feet from the front desk, couldn't sleep all night because of the noise of people coming in and out of the hotel. It is absolutely ridiculous. Complimentary "arrival cocktail"? Where? I certainly didn't get one. Daily amenity fee for... what amenities? The hotel bar wasn't even open at all during the entirety of our stay. There was no turndown

A trip back in time...a motel stuck in the 70's.
This is a motel on the water. The rooms are tiny and outdated. The balcony barely fit two chairs and hasn't been cleaned in a few years. How do they get the towels to be so scratchy? All two of them? Please give us a USB port. We asked for glasses to enjoy a drink and we got two paper cups. Empty mini fridge from some dorm rounded things out.
The entertainment in their marina consisted of some dopes on their boat blasting crummy tunes all night. This is the property marina, and they couldn't get them to turn it down.

I can't review the hotel itself, because we were not able to stay there. This review is based on the way we were treated.
I was visiting New York from California, and my partner wanted to show me Newport. I've always wanted to see it, so we made a reservation here via Booking.com. However, right before the trip, we had to cancel because of Covid. The New York travel rules had changed. There was no issue in getting to Rhode Island, but we would have had to go through a giant rigamarole once we got back to New York.
I logged on to booking.com, and saw that we would lose

We did not let COVID-19 stop us from having our dream wedding in October in Newport. Thanks to the guidance and professionalism of the excellent team at The Newport, our guests were about to travel confidently and comfortably during this unique time. With our room block being a combination of both local and out of town guests, our hotel selection was a big decision when planning our wedding weekend. With their waterfront views, easy access to downtown and accommodating staff, we could not have made a better decision when selecting The Newport for our Wedding Room Block and Welcome Reception. The

The location of this hotel is everything! We were waking distance to so many restaurants and shops. The parking is included in the "amenity fee" and while it's definitely annoying to pay an extra fee, it was really convenient once we were there to easily be able to take our car around town and have a place to park it. When we checked in, they explained to us that due to Covid our room wouldn't get serviced while we were there. Our room was clean and we had a great view of the harbor. We were easily able to watch the nice sunsets right from our window! The bed was okay but not

Location : 5 stars !
Less than a minute walk, Your right next to the wharf where all the shops and restaurants are. There are also a bunch of shops across the street. The location is walking distance to even the bus stop where the trolley tours are located. We didn't use our car at all.
Hotel : 3 stars.
I'm not sure if it was because of COVID but our experience was just ok. The front desk seemed bothered by us and didn't explain anything. There was no mention about our welcome drinks, the restaurant was closed and breakfast was only the weekends. The room was ok and clean

This is a very nice hotel. The location is in a great spot in town. Walkable to the main strip of stores and restaurants. Large parking lot for your car. The hotel itself is pricey though. The beds were nice and comfortable, and the television offered lots of channels. There is an indoor pool as well. If your looking for a more fancy type of overnight stay, and don't mind spending alot of money, then this is the place for you.

It started out rocky but they smoothed it out.
We came (a group of 6) for a friends birthday and were so excited when we arrived at the hotel. The location is great and we were ready to get going when we pulled into the lot and walked in.
Unfortunately there was an issue with staff shortages and to get a room that was clean was going to take some time. We checked in around 5:30 and once we did the staff (particularly Aiesha) did all they could to make our experience at the hotel better.
The rooms had recently been updated and the experience after the rocky start was great. Aiesha made sure
