Absolutely delightful!! I can't say enough about how much I love this place! My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights, and it was truly a "home away from home" for us. As a historic property, the inn has so much character, with its brick walls and unique 2-story room layouts with a rooftop deck. The view from the deck was especially beautiful in the early evenings, with the nearby church steeple and surrounding trees framing the sunset sky. Our room was quiet and peaceful, and we did not hear any other guests during our stay. The in-room gas fireplace lent a wonderful element of

Amazing place. Superb central location, but far enough to avoid crowds.
Similarly to other reviews, their small touches make this place special. Don’t think about it, just book!

As a customer service freak myself, I was over the moon with the service at Mill Street Inn. Lori & Katrina were both truly "above and beyond" type people, and they were the only two people that we interacted with, so I can only assume the rest of the staff is exactly the same. The location is excellent, the bedding is great, the rooms clean, free parking, and breakfast was pretty solid for continental style! What more could you ask for except for a good price, and they do that also! Affordable for most, which is appreciated. Well done. One of my favorites stays ever.

Super friendly staff, cozy room, great location... but it's the small things about this hotel that make it great, like breakfast delivered to your room, convenient parking, name-brand toothpaste at the front desk if you happen to have run out, complimentary Fiji waters, etc. Definitely recommend and will definitely stay there again.

This place is top notch! I enjoyed my week stay here. The people that work here are as nice as it comes and they make sure you have everything you need and everything to keep you comfortable. The gym was a nice bonus too! Our room was very clean and tidy. I personally loved the rooftop porch! Also a fav was the fireplace in the bedroom... Wooo that makes the room toasty! Mill Street Inn was in the perfect location. Everything we went to was within walking distance. Restaurants and wharfs were less than 5 min walks and around the 1 mile mark you could be at the beach and Cliff walk. Couldn't have

No wonder this place gets such great reviews on pretty much all forums. Mill Street Inn was a pleasure to stay at.

Location - superb. We could walk to the waterfront, go out for dinner, do shopping etc. without ever stepping foot in a car. Can't beat the location.

Service - staff are so polite and friendly. They gave us recommendations on places to eat and some of the stuff that was going on in Newport.

Facility - they have on site parking which was great. The main entrance area is tastefully decorated with lots of natural lighting, which I loved. There's even a nespresso machine

Stayed in Nov 2021 and hopefully will again. The room was wonderful with a sitting area on the main floor and the bedroom, bathroom and deck on the top floor. The main floor had counter space, a couch, chair, refrigerator and tv. The upstairs bedroom was spacious with a fireplace, tv, huge bathroom and big deck with a pretty view. Netflix, Prime, etc was a plus! The staff were overwhelmingly helpful and sweet. They found us a deck of cards on the rainy afternoon. They know Newport well. This inn/hotel is in walking distance to everything...town, mansions, restaurants, ocean, cliff walk,

I stumbled across this quaint Inn a few years ago. I’ve been coming back ever since…I love it! Great energy and absolutely spotless. I’m very particular about where I stay and this undoubtedly has to be the cleanest most comfortable hotel I’ve ever stayed in! I always get the best nights sleep here because the beds are sooooo comfortable!
To make it even better, it’s run by an incredibly kind and accommodating staff who’ve all been here since my first time. It starts with the managerJamie who is a true gem! Very kind and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable

Lovely Inn with friendly team members and great rooms. Definitely a new favorite in Newport and I have stayed in several hotels and bed and breakfasts! I really liked the size of the room — the spiral staircase may not be ideal for some but I liked the duplex style of the townhouse which offers separation in the space and a great roomie feel. The bedroom is on the upper level with a tv, ceiling fan, AC, and there’s a cute deck to sit out on. The bathroom is quite nice and very clean. We spent one night here and walked everywhere. Their parking is first come first serve and worked out great

Great little hotel, right in town, close to anything you'll want to do in Newport.
1. Rooms very clean, modern, very comfortable bedding.
2. Free breakfast good for early morning start (yogurt, granola, pastry, fruit cup.)
3. WiFi - very fast, perfect.
4. Parking - lot on site with easy entry into hotel
5. Tesla charging: They only have 120 volt access so not great. Addition of a 240 volt charging station highly recommended especially with onset of more EV's!
6. Handicap accessibility: no elevator so you may want to request 1st floor room if wheel chair or other mobility restrictions

What a disappointment. The hotel is centrally located, which is great. But everything else was really a let down. The studios are small. They also offer breakfast brought to your room, but it was basically a croissant or cereal with fruit/juice. The biggest disappointment though was the staff. One concierge seemed nice, but the other was extremely rude and generally so unhelpful. We asked about a late checkout the night before, and she spoke to me for almost ten minutes about the maids schedule. It was very strange, and still no late check out. She was clearly bothered that we asked. We asked

Fantastic hotel. Great setting and location, right in the middle of beuatiful Newport with cafes, restaurants, the water, parks etc right there. Creatively designed saving the old but modern at the same time. Lots of space for an 'urban' hotel location with outside terrace space that is more than usual. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Immaculate and clean. The included breakfast was of high quality with excellent coffee, fresh squeezed OJ, and fresh pastries or bread and fruit and parfairts. Breakfast was brought to our door every day exactly on time as requested the night

Located just a block and a half away from Bowen's Wharf on Mill street right off of Thames Street, the Mill Street Inn is an old brick industrial building in the heart of historic Newport. It offers luxury accommodations, and a friendly staff that is all about making your stay a good one. The welcome bag was such a nice touch when I checked in, a fresh baked blondie, cashew nuts and salt water taffy. It's walking distance to everything downtown, restaurants, shops, and the harbor for boat tours and sailing. They also offer free parking, so once I arrived, I never had to use my car

Could not have been better. First time in Newport and wasn't sure how to navigate booking stuff fun for Easter weekend and my boyfriend's birthday. This location is perfect to everything you want to do. The staff was so helpful. Every place we went and tried was recommended by them! At the 11th hour before coming from DE we found out our dog needed to come with us. They easily switched us to a pet friendly room and even gave us a bed and bowls for her. The room was clean and large and had a sitting area and everything we could want. I would never think twice about booking there. When

We loved our stay at Mill Street Inn! We've been coming to Newport for years and have stayed in many different hotels in the area and I would highly recommend staying here. We got the room on Hotel Tonight for a great rate-we actually chose this hotel over trying the new Brenton Hotel because it was $100 cheaper. The room was huge with a living and dining area. The bathroom was spacious and the whole place was impeccably clean. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated how quiet the hotel was. The breakfast was delivered right on time and was delicious-especially the warm bacon scone!! The

We came to the Mill Street Inn for a November getaway to celebrate our anniversary, and it was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the friendliness of the staff, the COVID safety measures, and location.
We stayed in one of the two-floor suites that also had a little deck area that overlooked the roofdeck (which is also an AMAZING space with water views). The room was spacious, the fireplace was another great touched (and kicked off some serious heat), and everything was incredibly clean.
We were super appreciative of our welcome gift as well

We stayed here for 2 days in the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was great. We had a beautiful porch where we could enjoy dinner with a sunset view over the harbor. It was clean, and they were kind enough to give us a bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon on arrival, and two dog beds for our pups traveling with us.

The location is perfect. You can pretty much walk to all the restaurants and the wharf. The room is exactly like the pictures on their website and very clean. Their breakfast pastries are delicious! Hunter was the person we interacted the most and his customer service was excellent.
You can also see beautiful sunset on their roof deck. We had our dinner their and enjoyed the sunset.
The only downside was that the parking space was a little tight so we had to to go back early enough to get a parking space. Regardless, we will for sure book Mill St. again when we go back to Newport.

This hotel was one of the major highlights of our Thanksgiving New England road trip adventure!  Granted it was the off season in Newport, but since we had never even heard of this place we were thrilled!  Newport is an awesome island and it was so cool to experience it during a time that was still decent enough to get out and sight see, but not pay the big bucks!  The Mill Street Inn was adorable, the staff was amazing and seriously passionate about the hotel and Newport in general, and the room was so homey... exactly what we needed at this point of our trip!  They offer a free breakfast

Perfect place to stay in Newport. Small hotel, very boutique
And charming with a lovely continental breakfast and late afternoon tea and snacks. Just blocks from the wharf but thankfully more quiet.

Comfy room and beds. A little eclectic set up but that's likely because of the building foundation...v small bathroom and overly generous sitting area.

Incredibly warm and gracious staff.

One big downfall is the WiFi is free but so truly bad as to be worthless. We could only get it in one corner of our room. Can't get in breakfast area and can get only near front desk. Another

Just checked in and yay, I think I have a new favorite place to stay. Just a block or two from the downtown scene/Thames St on a slightly quieter street (better sleeping!) it took just a few minutes to walk to the various Wharf's to find a lunch spot.

Parking is an option if it's not crazy busy. Check in at 3pm. Ice cold welcome drinks (white sangria or raspberry water) on arrival. Our room wasn't quite ready (at noon) so we left our bags at check in, when we returned after lunch they'd been thoughtfully placed in our room.

Spacious room with great separate living room,

Can't say enough wonderful things about the Mill Street Inn. Booked it on a whim on Hotel Tonight and was completely satisfied with everything it offered.

Stayed in a townhouse suite - which had two floors, large televisions, fireplace, sunny balcony and king sized bed. Everything was clean and the staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating.

The afternoon snacks and breakfast set up on the roof deck are as nice as previous reviewers commented.

Loved the quiet location off Thames and close to parks. Able to walk anywhere we needed and leave the car parked for the duration

I love hotels and have stayed in many in the US and foreign countries. The Mill Street Inn is one of the best guest experiences I've ever had! The location is perfect, the service is impeccable, and the rooms are spacious suites with big screen HD TV's in each room. Breakfast (until 11am) is fabulous on the rooftop and afternoon tea includes a selection of beverages, cookies and brownies. Complementary nuts and water in the rooms along with turn down bed service with chocolates each night. Upon check-in, complementary sangria is provided. If you are in Newport, Rhode Island you should
