I don't know the year, but I remember the time. We had been in our new building for a few years when the big guy showed up. He met with an old friend, Richard Coon. Richard was struggling with cancer and had diminished in size so when he met with this new Richard, they seemed quite the odd couple. They were soon Bigread more.

I dove headfirst into a huge breakfast this morning. I got the stacker, which is just stacked hash browns with peppers and onions, cheddar cheese, eggs, and hollandaise sauce. I put away a decent amount but it was huge. I loved every bite! It was hot and packed with flavor. The sauce was absolutely impeccably done. The potatoes were hot and crisp. The cheese made everything all lovely and gooey and the eggs were cooked exactly as I ordered. So good!

Waited 15 minutes for a table on a Sunday...not bad. But then waited another 15 minutes for service once seated and nearly an hour for our food! We inquired with someone about the wait for our food and he said 45 min to an hour is the standard wait time for orders on a Sunday. I don't care what day it is, waiting nearly an hour for food is just not okay. Especially when it is basic diner food like eggs and hash browns. At least make customers aware of this before they're seated because knowing that, we probably would have left. Anyways, once we finally got our food it was just only okay

Had breakfast at Jake's diner on our way out of town. When you hear the word diner, you don't think of such a delicious breakfast. The menu was diverse, something for everyone. Everything was beautifully prepared, and not at all greasy. We had omelettes, and they were huge. Definitely a great place to go!

I had been wanting to try this diner for years. It was just not good. If you know than you understand I like to eat. I left a lot of food on the plate. I have never had pancakes that taste and look like they were deep fried. The eggs were greasy and lacked flavor. This was a place like wish would have stayed a mystery to me. The stars I am giving are for the waitress who was great.

One of the "hole in the wall" delicious breakfast restaurants that aren't nearby touristy locations in Bend, OR. They have a large menu that is reasonably priced in addition to large portions (even for a small omelet I could barely finish). Staff members are very welcoming and from what I understood... they serve and represent a lot of veterans.

I definitely recommend visiting here at least once if you're in the Bend area. It's a little far from all the other population places, but definitely worth it if you're looking for lesser wait times, and delicious food before

Just your typical diner with amazing staff and delicious food. Portions are very generous. We had the "Jakes...something" , basically everything you could want. Split it between the two of us and still couldn't finish. Full for the day, and a nap.

Mask firmly in place, I stepped in the door of Jake's and stepped back in time some 30-40 years. Although, thanks to the COVID, the noisy, crowded funk one is usually greeted with was missing. At 50% capacity, there's a strange quiet among the well-spaced out guests. I sat at the usually-crowded counter, by myself. Coffee came quickly, served by a big burly guy, in a mask. I ordered the "Stacker", knowing I would only eat about half of the huge platter soon to come. The Stacker is just that, about three large potatoes worth of excellent corn-beef hash , topped with tomatoes

I was contacted immediately by the management/owner and assured they would work diligently on retraining their staff to emphasize the importance of compliance of the mask ruling.

Family of 7 visiting from the valley and picked Jakes based on all of the awesome reviews. All I can say is, they weren't wrong! There was a short wait (which is par for the course for a group of 7) but far shorter than other restaurants we'd tried. We had two dogs and the outdoor seating was perfect to accommodate them. Our server even got them ice water to help them deal with the heat!

The food was really good and the portions were CRAZY big! We had multiple boxes to go and this is a family that can EAT. This may have to become a regular spot for future visits.

I've always loved Jakes, not only for their food but for the classic diner ambience that is so hard to find in this day and age. The portions are huge and the atmosphere is unbeatable. I went in for breakfast and like most mornings it was busy. That didn't stop our waitress from going above and beyond. Now I don't know if my server is from the south but she sure did beam with southern hospitality. It was refreshing to have someone go that above an beyond. My coffee cup was never less than half full, my pants barely fit after that meal and my face hurt from smiling so dang much.

Locally owned and operated and locally known for their massive proportions an immaculate attraction with the best food and some of the best staff. The owners runs around the restaurant working so hard it is very admirable our waitress this morning was a lovely woman who called all of us hun and baby making me feel like I was back in my grandmas kitchen. One of the few restaurants that truly make you feel at home and like family. And the food is undoubtedly fantastic. At Jake's the customer comes first and it is very clear. You kept help but go in with a smile. I highly recommend if you&apos

If you're looking for a great, country kitchen, large portion, diner to fill you up, this is the place!

Recommended by friends we stopped in for breakfast while we were in town.

There's a very large dining room that we quickly found a booth to get comfy in. It has a homey feel with a rustic/county decor. Perfect for the area!

Our server shortly came over to take our drink orders. When our drinks arrived she also took our food order. Our food was served in less than 10 minutes and there was A LOT of food!

We ordered the biscuits and gravy with bacon (I sub-ed the eggs for hash

I was super hungover after one too many adult sodas the night before with my siblings when I stopped into jakes for Jake's for breakfast.

I don't know Bend very well, but my brother recommended this place for food before hitting the road for the drive back over the mountain.

This place was packed and the service was a little slow (as far as getting my order taken), but that is understandable. 11am on a Sunday morning and this place was packed tighter than a can of raviolis.

I gotta say this place gives huge portions.
I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak meal. It was the size of the

Jake's is a venerable Bend institution that has a large fan base, from what I gather on social media.

Biscuits and gravy with sausage: fairly tasty and a very huge portion - something they advertise and it's true. The biscuits might not be the best but because they're drowned in gravy (as they should be), I guess it doesn't matter so much. Good sausage.

Noisy room, to the point it was getting uncomfortable.

Service was OK. I sat unattended for a bit while several servers were either chatting amongst themselves or doing routine tasks. Once my server finally came over to deliver

Good food, humongous servings, terrible coffee. The coffee I can overlook but bad customer service NO CAN DO.

Got there today before 10am and we were immediately accommodated. A nice young lady came to tell us who our server was going to be. However, the minute our server came, it felt like she took an immediate dislike of us. She was impatient, no smile whatsoever. Even my kiddo was scared to give her order. It was uncomfortable. She brought our food and that was that. Never checked on us. We thought that was just her personality or maybe she was just having a bad day but we could hear her talking

Came in on Sunday morning and this place was packed. Busy busy for a reason....fortunately my brother got there earlier and had our table when I arrived. There was a line out the door at 10am.

We ordered and I got the country biscuit breakfast. Man o man I could not believe the size of the biscuits. They came two on a platter smothered in gravy just like I asked. Also on my second plate were my scrambled eggs and 4 strips of awesome bacon.

The wife went light with two eggs over easy, hash browns and toast. I tasted the hash browns and the were really good.

They have home made fruit and cream

The line to get in for breakfast on this Sunday morning was long. Luckily we had family who got there before us and we walked in just as they were getting seated. No waiting for us!

If you eat here bring a big appetite, because the portions are HUGE!!! There is no skimping on food here. Don't count calories and carbs. I didn't ask, but no where on the menu did I see fruit as a side option.

My husband had biscuits and gravy. Super sized biscuits topped with a flavorful white sausage gravy, served with two eggs and bacon. I took a taste of his B&G as I always do and I thought it
