This is my second time staying here. I will try my best to give an unbiased review. Let's start with the pros. This hotel is literally steps away from an amazing dog beach. You literally walk out there we are gate and there is two miles of beautiful Coastal Beach. Also I love that the backyard is shared amongst all dog owners because it gives the dogs built-in play dates. Another Pro is that it is a very walkable neighborhood. Just a few blocks from the hotel you can find pizza a bar. It's also an amazing Lee friendly neighborhood. Also, because it's a pet friendly hotel the pet

This is the first time I have stayed here -- and I doubt it will be the last!
If you are all about the luxury experience, this place is not for you. There's no breakfast buffet, no room service, and the wifi is horrible when the place is fill.
However, if you are looking for a place to unplug with your pooch, walk to the beach and wash the sand and salt off of your pup before going back to the room, this place is great.
If you are a plant geek, check out the placards next to all of the many different kinds of plants around the property.
Walk a couple of blocks to Cafe Bella for a great

Location was perfect! View from balcony was nice. The room was a really nice size clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly as well. I was a little worried about what I was gonna walk into in regards to smell and cleanliness since this place caters to your four-legged furry Friends and we were not traveling with any animals. Absolutely excellent!! Couldn't tell at all! So I recommend for all types of travelers! And if you are traveling with a furry companion this is your spot! Can't wait to visit again!!

First of all, I never write reviews and always try to look on the positive side. But as I lay here in the middle of the night listening to the neighbors talk on the other side of the wall, the only good thing I can say about this place is the location to the beach. The second we walked in the room, my daughter wanted to just turn around and go home instead of staying here. The bed is not great with just a sheet and a thin blanket, we were afraid to take a shower and you can hear every noise outside and in the room next door. The photos online definitely make it look nicer than it is. And for the

The pros. Great location right on the beach. Great view. Also had a nice powerful shower. If you own dogs it is a very dog friendly place. The have HBO and free wifi.
The cons. The service, housekeeping never cleaned the floors during our stay. They didn't supply enough towels or wash clothes or toilet paper for a us (family if four) the shower curtain does not properly stop water from getting on the bathroom floor. Now the biggest con..... they have a bug problem. Small ants and similar small bugs in bathroom frequently and roaches in the kitchen including finding one in the refrigerator.

Motel was nothing spectacular but it was affordable and close to dog beach. We didn't have a dog but we enjoyed watching people and the dogs in the beach fringe our balcony. The room was clean and the beds were good. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again. Location to everything was great.

I'm giving this place four stars because if you have dogs, especially larger dogs then you know how difficult it is to find places to stay with them especially within a reasonable price. However, I do feel it's important to give fair warning about our experience. This is for a parkside/downstairs room along the dog run.
The Pros:
Very dog friendly, our dogs were welcome here and the dog run was wonderful for them to socialize and use the bathroom. The staff were all also very kind to us and the dogs.
You are a short walk from the dog beach which was the whole purpose of our vacation

Fantastic spot within walking distance of Ocean Beach. Dog friendly also if you have a pooch. Park your car and it's an easy walk to all of the action of OB. Clean and comfortable room and quiet even with dogs on the 1st floor. Will not break your bank account either. Did not stay here last visit to SD and will not make that mistake again. Pool not open but who cares. There's a whole ocean down the block.

Perfect little hotel right on the beach. Loved the dogs that everyone had and the beach was nice. The closest portion of the beach is for boards only except close to the shore.
Hotel room isn't fancy but great for the beach.
Hotel pool is small and amazing. Warm water and 7 feet at the deep end.
Would definitely stay here again.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I thought this hotel was great to be able to bring the dogs on vacay with us. It was right next to the dog beach. The hotel was pretty clean, nice and quiet all night. The dog wash station is a great idea. After spending all day at the dog beach, we were able to bathe our dogs. The station that is taller really helps because I don't have to be hunched over. Overall great experience, will definitely be going back.

Short version: If you have a well-socialized dog, you will like it here very much!
Long version:
I always make a big deal about my son's birthday, I use it as an excuse to see people that I haven't been able to spend time with recently.
We made our reservations about 6 weeks in advance and started planning. The kids had made their reservations a few days before I made mine and by the time I called, they didn't have the room I needed for my 3rd night. I proceeded to call Lydia almost every day to see if there was a cancellation to get the room I needed. She was really great and

My boyfriend and I wanted to have a weekend getaway with our Husky and this hotel was the perfect accommodation for that. There were so many different dog-friendly places to eat around the hotel & the dog beach was directly next to it. Our dog had so much fun! The hotel itself was exactly what we expected. The staff was very nice and accommodating and gave us a list of dog-friendly restaurants that were walking distance around the hotel. We would definitely love to visit again soon!

It was nice to get away during this crazy COVID-19 time. The staff was all helpful and friendly. The Dog beach is like right next door within walking distance. The patio on the 1st floor toward the back is an open dog run. Our doggy made lots of new doggy friends. Our room was clean and comfortable. The interior and furniture, etc. are kinda old looking. The A.C was an older, loud, wall unit. The mattress was a little hard for my taste. We had Domino's delivered for food and also went further by the beach for outdoor dinning. The place is not super fancy at all but you do get a nice little

As a local of Ocean Beach, this is the perfect hotel for anyone vacationing. I live down the street from here and had a pipe burst in my home. With one day before my hotel reservation through my insurance I decided to rent a room for one night here. I have two dogs and knew this was a dog friendly hotel. I called the villa to be one hundred percent sure I would be able to have my dogs in the room. Maddy answered and I told her my situation ! She was extremely helpful and sweet ! Thank you Maddy!
Upon entering the hotel I was shocked at all of the space!! I got a park facing room with two beds

Fun in the sun with four legged friends. When we want to escape and not be seen we make our way down here to the Ocean Villa Inn. Located directly next to the Ocean Beach Dog Beach.
Super chill vibe located in a cute little ocean front neighborhood full of plenty places to eat. A lot of places were still closed with COVID, but that's okay. We packed plenty of stuff to snack on and picked up a local pizza to eat in our room.
Coronavirus times a few things have changed. We went back in April with a killer deal on our family suite. Luckily the beaches opened the day before we went. They

Well all I can say is I'm glad I got a discount on Expedia but it's still over priced for the quality. Pics on line are deceptive. It's more like a poorly maintained motel than a fancy inn. I suggest spending the extra 20$ more per night and stay at a regular 3 star hotel. The bathroom needs remodel. The walls are hear through and it's got an odor. The staff are super friendly and helpful that is the plus.

You don't want to stay here if you don't love dogs. That said, if you have a dog, it's perfect.
Your pooch will get a goodie bag at check-in. The ground floor rooms, even furniture, are designed for easy cleaning. Most of the dog friendly rooms open up to a dog run (expect canine visitors if you leave your sliding door open). You can schedule maid service when your dog is out of the room. I think you get the idea.

The walls are so thin here that if The Police had stayed at the Ocean Villa Inn I think their song Every Breath You Take would probably have ended up like this:
"Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be hearing you"
(More on this in a bit)
THE GOOD:
It's so close to the dog beach you can walk there.
The room comes with a mini fridge, coffeemaker and microwave.
Very dog friendly hotel. Note that there is an extra $30 fee to bring your pup(s).
THE BAD:
I actually had two different experiences here, a stay in the rooms with
