I am half way through my second lease here at The Element and I have to say this complex puts more resources and energy into keeping everything clean, well maintained, and pristine than any other place I have ever lived. The staff truly cares about the residents and the property. My daughter loves the salt water pool!

I lived at the Element for over 3.5 years and was so happy to call it home! The whole crew - Janice, Harley, Johnny, & Karen, were so incredibly helpful and friendly at all times. My dog would require me to go say hi to them on all our walks! Our favorite part was the saltwater pool, where we had many chill days and met some great people.

There are so many things we loved about The Element including the great community amenities-large clubhouse, pool, lounge decks, gym and more! Best apartment in the area! You won't find a nicer and more genuine staff. Very quick to respond. Never had a maintenance request that wasn't handled same day. I usually got a knock on the door within the hour!
Amenities are amazing and constantly being upgraded. You can tell they really invest in the place. Saltwater pool is fantastic and a great place to meet people if you are new to the area.

The Element at Ghent has been an absolutely amazing place to live. If it was not for work, I would be staying here for a lot longer. Janice, Harley and Jonny are the absolute greatest. They go above and beyond when it comes to helping me and my fellow residents. One particular help has been assisting me when I am deployed, making quick repairs on any requests and trying to do social events -- via distance -- during COVID. Keep it up!

Not only is The Element a beautiful place to live, it's also safe, quiet and clean. We were worried we would struggle to find a cozy place for our family after moving back to Norfolk, but the team at The Element was so welcoming and wonderful that we instantly felt right at home. Amenities are fantastic (especially the parking garage), the staff is friendly and efficient, and we love that our favorite restaurants and grocery stores are just a short walk away! Everyone I’ve worked with has been helpful. It’s sad that we have to move but we moved for a good reason. My wife and I lived here for almost 3 years along. It was an amazing experience the whole time. The staff- Harley, Janice, and Johnny are incredible. They always communicated very well and if a service request was put in, it was fixed that day or the very next day. We had a blast at the parties (prior to covid) and even enjoyed the events they hosted later where it was come and grab food or Christmas raffles, I won $50 off rent one month. They also offer a military discount which was cool, and they spoiled our dogs almost more than we did. Many life events happened here and I will always cherish

I recently moved out of the Element at Ghent and I felt compelled to write an "Exit Review" of my experience. I lived at the Element for over 4 years with my 5 year old baby girl. Half way through my stay the most compassionate, thorough, and detail oriented property manager came aboard. Janice Hale made this property THRIVE. She arrived with a team like no other. I absolutely LOVE living at the Element! The staff is super friendly and the amenities are gorgeous and functional. The pool is always clean and the furniture outside is very comfortable. The clubhouse is such a great place to hang out with other residents-- especially during the events hosted by building management. Janice and Harley are the best! They’re always providing us with fun events (food, drinks, prizes) in our awesome clubhouse and pool deck. Johnny completes maintenance orders immediately and can fix anything. Apartments are clean, spacious, and modern. We love all the space we have for storage. My favorite thing about the Element is how safe it is! The gated parking garage and key fob entry doors to the building help me sleep soundly.

Lived here for only a year before deciding to move. The staff is WONDERFUL. I don't know if you'll meet a more caring and kind staff anywhere. These are people who know you are and genuinely care about you. Any issues we ever had (which were minimal), were solved right away. The pool/pool area is beautiful and the gym is a good size. It's a very short walk to tennis courts and Harris Teeter. A yummy cafe is right across the street. Shout out to Midway Auto Repair as well, which is walking distance and has the kindest staff. This is an absolutely fantastic apartment experience. The grounds are secure, clean, modern and well managed. The complex is a few blocks from 21st Street, a booming street with great food options, coffee shops and specialty stores. Additionally, located 1-mile from downtown norfolk, it's perfect for an Uber ride or walk to great bars and more food options. The Chrysler Museum is a few blocks away and is perfect for a Sunday afternoon date.

The team in the office are wonderful people - they are not the typical building office staff. They are personable & caring. They also go over and above with little details throughout the year - planed holiday parties for the building, dinners for the tenants. They absolutely make living here a job & easy. Highly recommend, you'll be in good hands. Plus, the apartments are new and well-maintained due to the high quality maintenance staff. And the common areas are always clean and put together! In my experience of renting, this is never the case.

Love It.... just a great place to live. Janice and Harley treat everyone as if they are the only tenant. The up keep and maintenance is unbelievable, plus all the amenities and all the monthly activities for the tenants is amazing. You live in the heart of Ghent, so everything is walking distance. The structure and design of the building leans for added security. The 1st floor is really the 3rd which means no window access to your apartment. Also the key fob for access to all the doors and elevators, just a wonder design. Johnnie the maintenance manager is out of this world, clean, professional

The complex has several great features. It's conveniently located near downtown Norfolk and Ghent and the management is excellent.
It's a fairly new building and there clearly is gentrification happening so the area has its good and sketchy spots.
The management again is great-- responsive, personable, and always have activities going on for their residents.
The complex isn't really old and the upkeep in the community areas is superb.
Now... I really hate to give this complex a 3 because of the aforementioned, but there are some challenges. The walls are THIN and the floors

I went to visit over a month ago & got a tour. It was a cute community, BUT it didn't look kid-friendly. I asked if there were any children that lived there & was told "not many". I saw mainly 20 yr olds by the pool & in the gym. That's fine and all, but I want a property that focuses on families too. Not just dogs. It costs extra for parking, valet trash, & insurance. At the time, the 2 bedroom Iridium model was running at $1599 mo with $3 fees for application, trash, & insurance. I don't know what they cost now. Though I am not going to rent here,

I am probably the MOST picky resident but I have to say the staff here is the best ever. They go above and beyond and put on the most amazing resident events. It really shows that they care about their residents. Two weeks ago they arrived before five am to make sure they served the residents breakfast. Then this past week they did a huge taco night with margaritas and a margarita machine. Janice, Harley, and Johnny are top of the line!!!! I couldn't possibly live anywhere else. They keep the building clean and organized. It makes a HUGE difference.

I moved here back in December and toured close to 20 apartments in the surrounding area and none of them came close to the Element at Ghent. Not only are their apartments themselves immaculate; their friendly staff, amenities and fortified parking garage is definitely worth every penny. Plus it is right across from a OneLife fitness gym. Definitely consider this an option!

My move to Norfolk was my first big move on my own and I didn't realize how stressful it could be until I started it. Thankfully, dealing with the staff at the Element was a relief and helped ease some of that stress. Due to circumstances, I had to get my apartment sight unseen, but Harley was very helpful and quick to respond to emails regarding any questions I had. Not only that but the staff seemed genuinely excited to have me there.

This is the best place I've ever lived! It's the first time that I've felt like I have a home in a long time. The property is beautiful, the parking is super convenient, and the office staff has been so accommodating. Pay attention to the negative reviews on this building because they are the most truthful as they are residents who have lived in this building the longest. We just ended our lease after 15 months. Thank goodness we did. There has been nothing but problems since we moved in. Break ins in a "locked" garage, pets constantly peeing down the entire stairwells and it being there for weeks before it was cleaned, incompetent office staff, constant middle of the night fire alarms, and the list goes on. Why does my apartment complex only have three stars, its definitely deserving of five! Its been a few months since I moved in, and there isn't a day i regret it. The management does an amazing job of hosting events, taking care of maintenance issues, handling the mail, and keeping us happy. If the Management doesn't sell you alone then the location will, the convenience of being 5 mins away from a Starbucks, grocery store, restaurant, gym, dog park and more is pretty glorious. My then fiancé, now husband moved here in November they were just starting to rent out 1 & 2 bedrooms. We really like living here. I came in May and pool opened Memorial Day weekend. Staff and leasing office members are friendly. They encourage get togethers and resident functions. Renting the clubhouse for any function is easy to do.
