Dr. Harpaul Sandhu graduated and received his veterinary degree from Punjab Agricultural University in 2009. Dr. Harpaul Sandhu has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Bay Area, California since 2010. Dr. Sandhu worked in the corporate field and private practices. Prior to 2010, he also volunteered his time at animal shelters in the San Joaquin County.
Our veterinarians and our staff are thoroughly trained to handle all sorts of emergencies. We offer critical care and will drop everything to perform emergency surgery if it is necessary. Since emergencies are extremely stressful, we will talk you through the process every step of the way. If your pets need to stay with us, we will keep you informed of their progress.
We offer many services at Benicia Animal Hospital. Here you will find all surgeries and procedures considered or categorized to be general orthopedic. We base the need for these sorts of procedures through a variety of resources including x-rays (digital), manipulation of the body part, testing range of motion as well as several other resources.
Fracture repair is surgery involving the application of various metal surgical implants such as pins, wires, plates, or screws to restore broken bones to their original anatomic position and rigidly fix them in place while healing occurs.
In some cases, the fracture may be too severe to permit perfect anatomic restoration of all pieces, but there will still usually be a way of providing stability to the fractured bone and to allow use of the limb during the healing period.Choosing to repair a fracture involving the placement of metal implants versus placing and maintaining casts or splints should be decided mutually by you and your pets' vet.

Positioning is very important to ensure good OFA radiographs. The American Veterinary Medical Association has strict guidelines on how the films need to look so we work very hard to take the perfect films. Though it is not required, anesthesia is recommended so that we can achieve the best results possible.

This clinic is heaven sent! all of the staff I met and interacted with were friendly and professional. They accommodated my wounded cat when no one else would and gave me a very fair quote for the procedure& sedative. Highly recommended. I will be switching vets to this one after my experience. I thought the service was excellent from the first call I made. I was able to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time. Due to Covid, I was met outside by Summer who was delightful. She transferred several dogs in and out of the office and it is obvious she loves what she does. She went into the office and returned with a list of services and their charges. She was a good listener and didn't pressure me to purchase services I wasn't interested in. My only disappointment was that I didn't get to have a brief conversation with the Vet after the exam. I will definitely return and do recommend
