Geary Veterinary Hospital offers a wide range of veterinary services for pets in Walnut Creek and surrounding areas. Geary Veterinary Hospital is under new ownership! Everyone here hopes that you, our wonderful clients, will continue to see Geary Veterinary Hospital as the trusted source for all your pets' healthcare needs.

We aim to provide top-notch medical care for your animals, as well as exceptional customer service and education for pet owners. Dr. Hamilton graduated from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology (1996) and from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health with a MPH in Epidemiology (2000).

Before deciding to become a veterinarian, Dr. Hamilton worked as an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia, and then as an infectious disease epidemiologist for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in Boston.She moved to California in 2003, where she eventually attended UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and met Dr. Weiss.
Here at Geary Veterinary Hospital, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full-service veterinary practice in Walnut Creek. Our goal is to offer your pet the top-quality care you want and expect. Our veterinarians and staff are devoted to staying on top of the latest diagnostics, treatments, and wellness programs to maintain your pet's optimal health.
We also accept Care Credit. The Care Credit Program helps you pay for veterinary care expenses for your pet. It offers 6 months no interest on purchases over $200 when you make the minimum monthly payments and the full amount is paid at the end of the promotional period. If you have Care Credit already, make sure to let our staff know.
There are many companies offering plans to cover the rising costs of veterinary care. We understand that finances are a huge consideration for our clients when deciding on the expensive diagnostics or treatments for their pet. Pet insurance may be a great option for you, and we highly recommend considering insurance to help with the costs of caring for your precious pet family member.
At Geary Veterinary Hospital, we take pride in supporting rescue organizations in our area. We work closely with three wonderful rescues: Golden State Greyhound Adoption (GSGA), Purebreds Plus, and 3R Rescue. In addition, we offer a courtesy exam for any new pet adoption from ARF, Contra Costa Animal Services, Community Concern for Cats, GSGA, Purebreds Plus, and 3R Rescue.

I’m sorry but I have nothing good to say about this vet. Under staffed. Very poor communication and many mistakes occurred trying to get treatment. I called today trying to get someone to listen to my dogs irregular heartbeat and they said to take him to emergency. All I wanted was to have someone listen to his heart and run an electrolyte blood test. They really are no help. They have been treating him but can’t handle anything out of the ordinary.

Geary Veterinary has been taking care of my dogs and cats for over 20 years now. They are passionate and compassionate about the animals they care for. Dr Bjork, Dr. Weiss & Dr Hamilton have all gone above and beyond to help take care of our animals. We can't thank them enough and their fabulous staff for all of the loving care.

Cheerful friendly staff and doctors. They seem very compassionate and kind, not only when giving care, but also when it comes to pricing. Very reasonable and effective covid precautions as well. When asked each person I worked if they were vaccinated they said yes and that they think the entire staff is at this point.

Loving, caring knowledgeable doctors and staff. I've been coming here for 35 years and they've always been kind especially when you have to say good bye to a pet. They care as much as I do for my pet.

I was flabbergasted at the speed and ease of my last visit to Geary Veterinary! I pulled up and texted them, as per the sign outside, and was immediately responded to and someone was at my window in moments. My cat seemed to enjoy having a quicker than usual visit, and he was home in his safe space within 30 mins of us first leaving. Safe and clean facilities BEFORE the pandemic, even more so now! Wonderful service, Skipper(my cat) thanks you for the vaccines! [; and the Kitty manicure/pedicure [;

The Vetinarian was gentle to Mr Brownie & my new poodle Prancer.Vet was generous to take Prancer without an appointment. Prancer had an infection caused by chewing at his scratching neuter. Both dogs were placed on ANTIBIOTICS.. Thanks so much for providing excellent care for my babies
