I do like Kimpton as a chain and stayed at many of their properties. Some are better than others. Kimpton Monaco is an old hotel that has undergone a "facelift" yet it still is very dated. We got upgraded to a luxury suite and there was mold in the shower, peeling wallpaper, condensation on the bathroom ceiling. Though Kimpton claims to have implemented enhanced cleaning protocol, bathroom shelve was covered in dust. Will not stay here again and do not recommend to others.

This hotel is not worth the money. On top of that they charge for everything. They charge you 23$ for amenities right of the bat. Have you put 100$ down for incidentals, charge 50 a night for parking. And are view was of a parking garage the room is way smaller then pictured the only good thing about it was the bed was comfortable. 1/10 I would recommend this hotel to a friend and I would rather sleep in my truck then get this hotel again.

Had a great stay at this hotel. The front desk staff was excellent, the location was perfect, the rooms were large with high ceilings, and the evening happy hours were a nice bonus. I just wish the restaurant had better hours throughout the week for us to use the dining credit. Besides that, this is what you would expect from a Kimpton!

Very cute modern hotel. Rooms were clean and as you can see from the photographs the front desk had literally everything you could ask for. A few things that surprised us: there are TWO happy hours here. There's an early evening hour where you can stop by for wine etc. and at night they have a night cap where they offer a drink as well. There's also a restaurant attached to the hotel if you don't want to travel far.

We stayed at this hotel over Labor Day weekend. My mom booked the hotel. She has status with IHG and the total was about $375/night.
Unfortunately, this hotel is a victim of Covid. They were extremely short staffed for the entirety of our stay. The valet only had one attendant working the entire time we had to wait about 20 minutes for our vehicle. We felt really sorry for the one gentleman working.
The paint was peeling on the ceiling above the shower and my mom pulled the shower handle out of the wall while she was showering on the first night. The hotel probably fix the issue, but for the

First time staying at this Kimpton Monaco & it's absolutely perfect. The ambiance of the hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are very spacious & updated. All the service here has been accommodating. Lastly, the restaurant connected to the hotel downstairs is AMAZING. Very fresh & pretty affordable for the high quality.
Will recommend staying again!

Disappointed with this luxury hotel! I specifically searched for 4 & 5 star hotels in the LoDo and UpDo area near Union Station. I selected the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver based on it being a 4.5 star luxury hotel packed with luxurious amenities... Allow my misfortune to serve as your guide to avoiding paying for services not offered.
They don't have any room services, including they do not clean their rooms, replenish towels, make the beds or offer any food choices other than a restaurant in the building. They will allow you the option to come to the desk and get fresh towels.

Beware mandatory charges and no free WiFi (like, what? I stayed a campground in Colorado Springs last night that had free WiFi. Why is this hotel in downtown Denver charging $12.99 for WiFi? It's cheaper to get WiFi on a flight and that plane is in the air!). Valet parking is also an extremely high rate of $50/night. The mandatory fee of $23/night seems to be designed to lure you into spending more at various points throughout the hotel. Needless to say, this single stay has turned me off anything from this hotel network. Doesn't feel very modern at all.

The good: centrally located, super friendly staff, super clean, smelled amazing throughout, beautiful lobby, beautiful rooms with access to streaming services on tv, high-quality toiletries, pet-friendly, and complimentary wine hour and night cap.
The bad: on-site restaurant is expensive, has limited menu options, and closes early (bar is located in restaurant so it also closes early), no spa, no housekeeping (due to covid), stupid expensive valet ($50 per night + tip), rooms near stairway/elevator are incredibly noisy, and AC doesn't cool enough.
Overall, we didn't have a terrible

We stayed here for 2 nights for my wife's birthday. We are locals and needed a good night out and something classy.
The young lady at the front desk Monique was absolutely amazing. Her professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond was incredible, she wanted and succeeded making sure we had the best night downtown.
Because of her alone we will be back!
The rooms are beautiful and the beds are comfy.

Okish but not as good as the ones we stayed at in SF. A lot of additional hidden fees tacked on that we noticed and the parking was weird bc its essentially the Residence Inn one next door so basically all you're really paying valet for us to drive your car around the corner and as we learned when we decided to park it ourselves in the pouring rain you can't use the elevator so we had to lug some luggage down about 8 flights of stairs bc only Residence Inn cards work which really made us wonder why we didn't just book with Residence Inn
As for the staff and decor its kitschy but

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Unless you would like you car to get broken into, your suitcases stolen and very unhelpful staff!
We stayed here in December to celebrate our engagement. Since we drove, the front desk offered hotel parking. We opted for the self-park option vs valet option (in the same garage) which was still over $30. We parked our car in the hotel provided garage, trusting the safety of our car.
When we woke up and went to our car, we found our back window smashed. Our belongings were in the car and everything was taken. We then went to the front desk for assistance. First thing that they

I wanted to say thank you to Chris for ensuring we had a great stay last night. We also enjoyed being greeted by the "all American pup" Marvin upon checking in. Chris was quick to respond when I found something that looked like a camera poorly installed on the entry door to the room. The hotel was quick to respond by checking out said "camera" and putting us in another room for us to feel safe. As it would turn out, the "camera" was a type of thermostat in one room on each floor. I'm sure the hotel will make sure guests know it's a sensor in the future (because

Stayed here for my fiancé's 40th birthday weekend while visiting friends and family in Denver. This hotel is BEAUTIFUL. I am always blown away by the attention to detail the Kimpton line of hotels offers; the Monaco was no exception.
The first night we stayed in a suite and it was amazing. Tall ceilings, plenty of space, and we were even greeted with a welcome gift of wine, chocolate covered almonds, and pistachios for my fiancé's birthday.
We had a minor mishap with our shower leaking, but we brought it to the front desk's attention and they offered to switch rooms for us

After Kimpton in Chicago, we had to choose another kimpton when we came across it. I used my points again. The ceiling was tall. The bed was comfy. I don't really look for much in a hotel. I was just sad that nothing was open at night in this area (COVID). Not even 7/11. We were very thirsty!
We asked the front desk for water, but I guess they didn't have any in stock so we waited a bit for someone to bring it. We got it for free for the trouble, but the bottle was very tiny & they did not have more options for purchase.
I feel like the hotel should be more well stocked because

Big step up above the other hotels in the area, incredible amenities, impeccably clean rooms, just a little dark inside for me.
So I always like to stay at Marriotts, I have a rewards program with them and I feel that their rooms are usually as good or better than the hotels in the surrounding area. Absolutely not the case in downtown Denver. Of course I try to stay at a local Marriott and found that they are not as good as this hotel! Much better rooms with much better amenities. Incredible bed, this place even has a happy hour each evening with free wine and it's an incredibly great social
