Team Blue Crab Home Inspections has over 50 years of combined experience in the real estate, home improvement and home inspection fields! Not all home inspectors are created equal. We are proud to say that all of our inspectors are members of ASHI (American Society Home Inspectors) and complete all home inspections according to its standards of practice and code of ethics.
A home inspection is an objective, visual and non-invasive examination of the structure and mechanical systems of a home, from the roof to the foundation. Blue Crab Inspections can be scheduled 7 days a week and are performed by one of our highly trained and educated professional inspectors. Most home inspections last between 2-3 hours and the client is encouraged to attend; we treat each inspection not just an inspection but a home introduction.
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Surgeon General recommend testing homes below the third floor for radon. If you find that you have high radon levels, there are ways to fix a radon problem. Even very high levels can be reduced to acceptable levels. If you are selling a home, EPA recommends you test your home before putting it on the market and, if necessary, reduce your radon levels.
There are many reasons to have a home tested for mold from moisture problems, musty smells, signs of growth, ongoing respiratory symptoms, and/or peace of mind for you and your family. Molds are part of the natural environment and are a member of the fungi family. Molds can be everywhere; there are over 1,000 species of mold in the United States of America alone.

We felt in such good hands with Dan and Chelsea! They were extremely thorough, knowledgeable, professional, supportive, and friendly. They provided a very comprehensive walk through of all of their observations and explained things in ways my husband and I could easily follow. They do not honor their warranty that's supposed to come with the home inspection. We had an issue with something in the pipe which caused a blockage in the plumbing. This could have easily been diagnosed by a qualified inspector if they just ran the water in the house during the inspection but the inspector refused to do so, even when we asked him to. This led to a $700 repair bill once we moved in that Blue Crab takes no responsibility for. They won't honor the warranty to cover any of the cost of repairing an issue their inspector did not find, as promised. I should've followed my gut and stuck

Dan(iel) and Chelsea were fantastic. Took the time to show us anything we could've needed. Very thorough in the inspection, answered every question in a way that made me feel thoroughly educated. Quickly walked us through various maintenance things we may need to know. Also gave us a homeowner's maintenance manual that is fantastic.

We had an inspection performed by Howard and he was exceptional. Friendly, informative, thorough. As a first time home buyer, he really put my nerves at ease and walked me through the home and a mock report so I knew what to expect. I received the report less than 7 hours later. I sold my last house 13 months ago and the buyer used blue crab as their inspector. The report was so well done and thorough that I knew right away the next house I purchased I was going to use them as my inspector. I asked specifically for the same inspector and thats who I got. We had an inspection scheduled for early Monday. With the weather forecast predicting heavy snow on Sunday, the inspector contacted me on Saturday to ask if he could do at least the exterior inspection on Sunday morning before the snow. In fact, he completed the entire inspection on Sunday. He was quick and efficient and my client is super pleased with the detail of his report.

Our realtor recommended this company, and I'm so glad he did! Our inspectors were thorough, knowledgeable, and so easy to communicate with. They took all of our questions seriously, offered great insight into different aspects of the home, explained the whole process really clearly, and kept us up to date on what they were doing and when throughout the process so that we felt very clear on what we needed to be doing as well. This was our first inspection, and my greatest concern was that we'd get someone who wouldn't have patience for all my first time home buyer questions, concerns, and mild paranoia
