Been dealing with roaches since I arrived. Building did a treatment once in October and has since ignored my messages about continued issues with pests. I have lived here three months and have had multiple issues. Maintenance has done their best to respond quickly, but the fact that I've had so many issues in a short time with 0 response to my pest issues makes me wish I'd signed elsewhere.

I've been living at Park Meridian for 2.5 months in a studio and have been impressed, no problems whatsoever. It seems that you can't really take Google ratings seriously when looking for an apartment, mostly because the people who generally leave reviews are a tiny vocal minority.
Anyways, the apartments are nice and clean, great location too, near 14th and 18th St. 10-15 minute bike ride into the center, and 15-20 minute walk to DuPont circle.
I had one issue with my garbage disposal and it was fixed same day. Management is easy to contact.
Would recommend.

So many ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES! Ew ew ew. The owners of the building have been trying to sell it since February 2021 and ever since then refuse to do ANY maintenance or upkeep. Door locks remain broken, windows flood in the rain, the washer and dryer break and remain broken for months. We formed a tenants association and I cannot tell you the many many emails that go around of all that's wrong with this building. You can't control your own heat, so its sweltering in the fall when it turns on in September and October and is still 90 degrees. Residents have met with each other and complain over

Van Metre Park Meridian management team showed up unannounced to my door while I am working from home during a pandemic and interrupted me on a work call to basically tell me that there are no issues with the laundry machines that myself and others have reported and personally struggled with using.

Want to live at home and be able to do laundry at your leisure?
Good luck doing that at Park Meridian Apartments.
There are no in-unit washer/dryer’s so you are reliant on the CSC maintained units that Van Metre has partnered with.
In most buildings (not maintained by awful management) this wouldn’t be an issue.
Under Van Metre management, this apartment complex of around 80 units struggles with barely operable machines.
None of the laundry machine cycles are the same time/cost, they app doesn’t work, the online access to see if machines are in use is inaccurate, the machines are constantly

Lived here for over 2 years now and while I was initially very pleased with the studio size, layout, and location of the apartment building, Van Metre Management has been rather abhorrent and negligent in their responsibility to act in accordance with DC Law and leasing agreements, specifically with regard to safety and making necessary repairs.
We have a severe issue with safety and security in the building. One of our 2 entrance doors has had a broken lock for over 9 months with no repair to this day, our packages/mail is constantly missing and/or stolen (I've personally had 12 packages taken

DO NOT LIVE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I thought the price and the size of the apartment in this location were too good to be true. It is. This is the worst place I have ever lived. I have a cockroach infestation and I asked them to come look at it in August and they didn't get someone in here until late October. My requests were all ignored or they marked it "completed" but no one even came to look. It wasn't until I threatened to report the building and company that they said they would look at it. Based on location, features, price, and conversations with two tenants I ran into at the property, I was very interested in viewing a studio apt. Over four days, I called their toll-free number and their local # 10 , emailed them at an address included in a CraigsList post either for or by them, chatted with a representative through their online chat platform and called them from their building intercom.
The toll-free number and the online chat folks say they have no units available to show, even though multiple CraigsList posts are published daily -- either for or by them. Then they say, Oh wait

We got bed bugs from our apartment and management refused to reimburse us for a new bed, laundry, etc. The maintenance line goes to a third party who have no idea what is happening in the building. Dishwasher broke within one week. Smoke alarm broke after one month. Cockroaches everywhere. The worst place I have ever lived.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. You will never find a worse management company, or a more poorly-maintained building, and that's comparing it to the one time I lived in an apartment where raw sewage flowed under the building.
For example, they've currently locked the balcony doors (which are all the only sources of ventilation or natural light) and jackhammered off all of the balconies. This has been going on for weeks. I cannot even have a conversation in my own home. They're not the least bit accommodating. The management company does not answer phone calls, and their higher level staff are actually rude
