This place costed way more than it should have the room was tiny and it had some art that a first grader could have made like how is that art? If that can get in anything can!

Hotel Cerro's Spa is an absolute gem! As the Director of Hospitality in San Luis Obispo, I'm always looking for wonderful experiences to send our guests. Well Brian Poole and Alejandro Carreras made this spa experience outstanding!
My son and I each had a Swedish massage. Esthetically, the entire experience was magical with a steam room, quite room and state of the art massage rooms. I haven't even begin to tell you that these massages were some of the best I've ever had.
You really have to go!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cerro. It is a modern hotel smack dab in the center of downtown San Luis Obispo. Our room was luxurious and beautifully decorated, and included a deep soaking tub and great shower. We had a private patio with a firepit which was great to sit out on in the evenings.
The common areas are all bright and clean. We especially liked the large garden in the courtyard that had all kinds of edible produce and herbs.
There is an outdoor pool that is just big enough to swim laps in if you're a swimmer.
We tried the restaurant one evening and the food was good, but

I really, really wanted to like this hotel. The one star is for location and the lovely staff.

The room layout is odd - when you enter the room you're in the open concept bathroom, which is interesting design but the function is lacking.

The absolute worst part of the stay - the noise at night, until 2 am, coming from the bar immediately under the windows of the hotel. It's like there's a giant, loud party in the room. It's not the hotel's fault obviously that their neighbor is a loud college bar but there's zero disclosure about this on the site. Something like

This place is amazing. We usually stay at Marriott for points but wanted to pick a hotel that was a boutique for my wife's birthday. At check in they threw us a bottle of wine and were so friendly. The place is sexy and the restaurant attached doesn't have a thing on the menu that isn't delicious. We will be back!

This hotel is really beautiful and the rooftop pool is amazing. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the amount of noise from the bar across the street is insane. I know this is out of their control but providing earplugs in the rooms would be helpful and would at least let guests know that they care and are aware, (and they clearly are aware of it because I've seen multiple other reviews like this). I would only stay here on a weekend if you don't mind being awake until 2am. Other than that, the property is great.

Hotel Cerro was a beautiful place to stay for a number of reasons. There were a couple small hiccups overall, but I would definitely stay there again.
1. Location: The spot is perfect if you want to just arrive and take full advantage of the downtown area and all the great places to shop, eat, do activities. We honestly parked our car and only bothered driving when we wanted to go outside SLO. The con to the location is that they don't have much parking, so as many have pointed out... you need to park a couple blocks away. Be Aware! You need to pay the parking toll each day to avoid getting a

Here's the thing. The room was beautiful and I loved it. The spa services were absolutely amazing and the restaurant was really good. Staff was super sweet. My only problem was when I was done getting my massage and went to go back to my room I forgot my key card and the elevator doors had already closed so of course it didn't take me to my floor but when I hit open doors to just get out of the elevator and go around the building to the main part the doors wouldn't open. So I was stuck in the elevator and had to ouch the help button. So embarrassing and annoying that yes its a safety feature so

Nice hotel and staff. Wonderful spa. However the noise from the nightclub patio behind the hotel after 1am was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. We checked out a day earlier than planned. Beware of being assigned a room overlooking the alley behind the hotel.

1. Nice decor. Pet-friendly with $75 per pet per night.
2. Parking is very limited. If you’re not the first 10 cars to check in that day, you’ll have to drive to a offsite parking structure, and pay the $21 overnight parking (the front desk told us $15). There is no valet service.
3. It is VERY loud at night. There’s no way I can sleep clearly hearing people at restaurants and bars partying even after midnight. Called the front desk after 12am, and she said “ear plugs are the best we can offer”.
If you like good-looking hotel, and willing to risk 50% chance not getting any sleep until

Review for Rooftop Pool/Bar -- did not stay at hotel

Went on a Friday evening for a nightcap with my fiancé. So disappointed. The staff was distracted and impersonal. It felt like we were just another number and not a customer worth their time. The bartender was clearly distracted trying to handle an issue with another customer's credit card. The drinks are definitely on the pricier side so once we finally got our we hoped they'd at least taste good. Nope. Pretty sure my fiancé's old fashioned was just bourbon on the rocks. Really discouraged, we live walking distance and really

*This review is only for the rooftop bar/pool, I did not stay at the hotel!

We were looking for somewhere to get a pre-dinner drink one night so decided to check out the rooftop at the new Hotel Cerro. This is the only rooftop pool-side bar in SLO so I was really excited to check it out - and it is open to non-hotel guests after 4 pm. I'd also seen some beautiful drinks on their Instagram so thought this would be a great option.

We ordered a Negroni and a Spanish G&T. Drinks were a little pricy $15.50 each) but also VERY strong. One thing to point out is that the presentation of drinks

OH MY GOD, THE NOISE!!! We paid $500+ for a luxury room in a luxury hotel, and thought we were going to have a relaxing night in a nice hotel and be rested for a huge deal that we were working on the next day, and we ended up AWAKE UNTIL 2 IN THE MORNING TO COLLEGE STUDENTS GETTING WASTED AT THE BUFFALO BAR (on the other side of the alley), SCREAMING THEIR BLOODY HEADS OFF!

Then chairs scraped across concrete in the morning as they arranged the bar seating.

$500+, to essentially stay in a college frat house? Ridiculous. And the staff knew. I couldn't figure out why they were looking at

3.5 stars, rounded down.

PROS:
- SETTING / LOCATION: Super centrally-located. Walking distance to coffee shops, bakeries, boutiques, restaurants, bars. It doesn't get much better than this for easy access to downtown SLO. The hotel itself is gorgeous. Very sleek and well-designed with a minimalist contemporary vibe. Spacious rooms with a thoughtful layout. You can tell this is a newer hotel, since it looks very upscale and clean.
- STAFF/SERVICE: All staff (front desk and rooftop) we interacted with were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. We didn't request housekeeping during

Very stylish, modern design hotel in the public rooms and guest rooms. Very cool rooftop pool w/cabanas. Valet parking, but due to, you know COVID, you park yourself. Plenty of chargers for your EV for no additional cost.

The hotel location is perfect. Another reviewer mentioned that their room was noisy. We asked for a quiet room and it was as quiet as any room that I've had.

There was a very cool leather look desk with a matching hassock in the room. However, if I was here on a business trip this set-up would not be acceptable. One chair in the room and it was traditional, kind of an odd

Very nice hotel except we are assigned a room facing bars downstairs. Drunk people yelling and laughing well past midnight. Honestly, in terms of amenities, this hotel is one of the nicer non branded ones I've ever stayed in. But if you can get proper sleep here, non of those matters. Please avoid this place if don't want to be lying in bed at this hotel typing this review down like what I'm doing right now...

BTW, seeing 2 reviews just like mine from 6 months ago. They were replied that "they will continue to improve". Apparently the managers and owner don't really

Very clean and modern hotel. This is great if you are single or are on a romantic visit. The location is great for a lot of food, shop, and activities. One caveat is that street parking is hard unless you pick valet or park in the structure about a block away. The staff are friendly and pool level is fun to be at. The pool only is only 3.5 deep so not really for swimming just hanging out and lounging. Not the best hotel choice to bring a kid, but still a fun time.

Amazing location situated right in the heart of downtown. Walk to dinner every night, and breakfast everyday. We've stayed a few times, and have had exceptional service each stay. Every room has been a little different from the one before, and they're all so beautiful. We stayed once with a view of bubblegum alley and an exposed brick wall, once in an ultra modern suite and most recently in a stunning garden room. The rooms are squeaky clean and the beds are luxurious and comfy. We also had the pleasure of hosting a friends birthday party on the Olive Terrace. It was an absolutely amazing experience

Just spent two nights here. My new favorite weekend getaway place! The entire hotel staff is wonderful and welcoming, from the bellman, to front desk staff, to rooftop bar tender and housekeeping. Hotel and Rooms are new, very nice and very clean, loved the design and decor throughout. The bed is very comfortable. The rooftop pool and bar are such a highlight and also the onsite restaurant! Need to come back for the spa once it opens. We really enjoyed our stay.
