I've been living here for more than four years and want to echo what many other recent reviews say. We moved in 2016 when it was owned by Forest City. After the property was acquired by Brookfield and new management team was appointed, a lot of things started to go downhill. Which is a shame, because Bayside Village has a lot of potential.
There are some things that I still like:
- Location is great. It's close to Financial District, but still relatively quite (unless your apartment is facing Bay Bridge).
- Rooms are ok. They are quite spacious, with lots of storage and closet space

I just moved in a couple months ago and I already can't wait to move! This place is a mess! You have to wait a month to get any repairs done. Our windows constantly grow mold! We have to clean them everyday because we are afraid of getting sick which also makes me wonderful if there is mold growing in the walls. We live on the top floor yet for some reason we keep hearing footsteps in the middle of the night. Is someone squatting up there???! People are leaving junk in the hallways trying to give stuff away but it just looks like trash. Someone also throws balls down the hallway for their

Before I moved in, I also read some negative comments on Yelp and I was quite concerned. But after moving in, I realized that these comments are just outdated. All the things are becoming better and better, and you can hardly find another place in SF that is even better.
I must say that all the people I meet are so nice and so kind since I moved into this apartment. Mr. Bahman is a gentle and responsive agent who helped us a lot after we moved in. Also, the apartment manager April is such a respectful and warm-hearted person who kindly gave us many useful personal suggestions on how to deal with

I have lived at Bayside village for 1 year and would not recommend living here. The staff is hard to get ahold of - I've tried to contact the building 3-4 times in the last year about my lease and have not heard back from them one year later. The buildings have problems like bugs and dark soot that seem to come through the vents. It also seems like they are perpetually remodeling and renovating so prepare to not have any peace or quiet. The cherry on top is that I paid $200 for a parking spot that was often taken up by other cars or blocked by huge dumpsters.

So, it's impossible to get a hold of anyone that matters on the phone.
Security? Nope.
Leasing office? Nope.
Management? Nope.
Showing up physically is the only way to get anything done.
Hopeless people frequent right outside the building. I've been woken up my a random homeless man banging on my door.
I originally moved here because it was a warm and green atmosphere. Really nice especially when you're in the city. Then they decided to do "renovations" which basically just means they are making it look like a prison. No one in any apartment has any privacy any more

PLEASE SEE THE 1-STAR REVIEWS! I have been living here for 4.5 years and deliberately did not renew my lease because I want the flexibility of moving out with only a 30-day notice. As others have pointed out, the management does nothing with respect to leaky pipes and stolen property, but spends money in doing things that make the place WORSE.
Unnecessary repainting with dead colors instead of the previous vibrant ones. Amenities shut down and no reprieve in rent (what was I paying for to begin with?) For me (personally) a non-working heater in the bedroom that took 2 months to replace because

I've lived at Bayside for over a decade at this point, in two buildings (7 & 9). During my time, I've seen 2-3 different property management companies, from helpful responsive ones who would actually call you back and know your name, to the snake oil slinging carnies who are the current property managers, Brookfield Properties.
Honestly, my time here has been relatively pleasant, and this complex has always felt like a bit of an oasis in the middle of a bustling urban area. That is, until Brookfield came along and began to systematically wreak havoc in our community.

I have already spent so many unpaid hours of my life the past year and a half having to address everything from plumbing crises (sudden shutoffs with no warning, brown water, toilet breaking literally five times in a month and then being left with a literal bucket overnight to use instead after maintenance worked on it for 6 and a half hours until 10pm at night when we both have to work from home and had nowhere else to go), paint and ash spraying all over our personal property including new bikes and work hardware from haphazard chimney service during utterly non-essential exterior paint project

We have lived at Bayside Village for 2.5 years. For the first 1.5 years, it was a nice place to live. Then it was bought by Brookfield Multifamily Properties. Since then, it has been a horror story.
Staff turnover is constant. Staff routinely do not respond to emails. When they do respond, they are surly. Packages are constantly lost or stolen from the package room.
When our lease came up for renewal, Bayside attempted to raise our rent by 38%. When we let them know this was illegal and cited the relevant laws, they did not return our emails for months.
Upon move-out, they attempted to extract

I don't understand why is the lawn mowers have to be running EVERY SINGLE DAY since early morning to late afternoon. I have to wear headphones every day and still can hear the noise loud and clear. The windows are not sound proof at all.
Despite that, there's loud music every now and then at night, twice happened at 1-2 am and some other times too. The apartment buildings are also too close to the freeway, the sudden car engines noise wakes me up even with the windows closed, and there's homeless living under the freeway too. Every once in a while some people will play loud music

Moved in a few months ago and love it!!! Really affordable for this neighborhood and the amenities are wonderful. Taking work breaks at the sauna, hot tub, and pools is so relaxing, and there is an on-site market for quick snack runs. Today a food truck came by with roast chicken, which was a great surprise.
The security guards are really nice and helped me carry my stuff up to my room after the movers left my belongings in the street. All around, a really welcoming and comfortable spot to live!

DON'T. DO IT.
- Completely unresponsive to any issues you have.
You will have a better chance getting a response placing a yelp review/complaint. Unfortunately I had no such luck trying this route.
- Building 8 (leasing building) floor 3 hallway smells of urine.
- Security is non existent. Tenants have people trying to get into their apartment from their patio doors, all the way up to the second floor. Not sure how security missed that.
- If you call security, they will not show up.
- The garage is never monitored, and entry/exit gates are ALWAYS left open by contractors going in and

For those also wondering which would happen first- a response to this review or the property fixing the broken elevator, a response won. Instead of responding to Yelp reviews and pretending to care, how about responding to emails and fixing basic elements of the building like an elevator?
If you have an issue with anything, you basically have to just physically go to the office an wait. I had a package stolen from the very insecure package room (anyone can just walk right in, there are two poorly placed cameras in package room 2) and despite a few emails got no response. Honestly wish I read more of these Yelp reviews before I ordered a package..
There are reviews going back MONTHS about how poor the package system is and empty promises to fix it that clearly have not come true. You have to wait in line for 30 minutes to try to get your package only for them to tell you that you can't find it.
This probably stems from poor management and high turnover. If there's a lot of associates, they need to have more system rules in place or else someone scans your package in without putting it in the right location. You're better off having deliveries left

I lived there from 08/18 to 12/19.
Pros: 1) close to downtown 2) the leasing office people are very nice.
Cons: 1) The hallway has strong smell of weed. 2) It is very noisy even at 1am since it is very close to the bay bridge and its entrance. 3) The bridge across the road was on fire twice. It was cause by something not politically right to say.… 4) There was a lot (I mean over 30) hidden needles in the carpet in my apartment, which broke into my butt when I sit on it. 5) I paid $3065 for a one bedroom for the first year which I think it is on the cheap side. The renew options are 3800
