Our room was sanitary and up to date! The food and service at Sweet Waters was high-end and terrific! But the best part was that we were able to long-term park our vehicle for a decent price in a secure parking area. We got a shuttle ride to the airport early in the morning, and they picked us up from the airport when we returned from our trip. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this establishment!

This last visit over Thanksgiving weekend was our 2nd to Valley River Inn, and likely our last. The idea for staying here was to support local businesses rather than the Hilton, Marriott or Holiday Inn. While the room we were given was spacious and comfortable, there were some cleanliness issues in the bathroom, along with musty and damp cigarette odors throughout the hallways. Coffeemaker in room located under hairdryer wasn't used because hair was found inside the appliance's reservoir. Competitively speaking, the hotel chains do a better job with putting forth warm interpersonal

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Customer service was amazing at the front desk and in the restaurant/bar. Housekeeping was very attentive and was always cleaning. The rooms were really nice and had a view of the pool. The only issue was the shower area could use some upgrades. Enjoyed my stay and would absolutely stay again.

The hotel was lovely... our location was overlooking the river & we absolutely enjoyed the 4 mile hike around the river. We are at the restaurant for breakfast & it was delicious.
The only reason I'm giving it a 4 rating is our door to the room did not completely shut every time we left.
Which after the 1st time gave me a tad anxiety trying to remember if we made sure we slammed it shut after that realization. The other was the sliding door was extremely hard to unlock to open & definitely to close. I can't totally blame them because if I had said something I know it could

We stayed here for three nights to explore Eugene. Nice hotel with a nice classic charm. Nothing fancy but the rooms were nice. Not a lot of modern amenities and the styling is definitely from a bygone era but it gets the job done. The gym is laughable but the pool and spa is very nice. Clean facility with friendly staff.
Overall a nice hotel to stay in if you are visiting Eugene that’s in an even better location. Mall next door with plenty to do for shopping and eating.

Stayed over Labor Day weekend for a wedding in town. The room was a bit outdated, but comfortable and clean. The only real issue we had was that the lighting was terrible. Not a huge deal.
The staff was friendly and helped us get an early check in due even though the place was fully booked the night before.

It's been really great! Enjoyed some local shopping at near by mall. Bike path along the river. Amazing food and drinks at Sweet Water Restaurant inside hotel, great staff in hotel & restaurant. Everyone has been extremely pleasant and very friendly with my two small pups. The room inside was very clean and felt very comfortable. Outside area around hotel was clean as well. Very pleasant stay and will definitely be back!

Came from Boston area to visit friends. Booked specific accommodations, King Deluxe w/river views. Received confirmation of Delux King room w/river views etc.
When we arrived the clerk ask for our name, she then went into, what seemed to be a SCRIPTED story of, we had a plumbing issue with your room so we "Up Graded" you and we will wave parking fees also. What we got was a double queen room with river views. They call that a Upgraded. This is clearly BATE AND SWTCH TACTICS. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. CLEARLY A REGULAR FORM OF THEFT as practice.

It's been a hard days drive from Issaquah WA to here. Arrived at 5:30 to be told that our two rooms are not ready and won't be for at least 1 and a half hours! We stayed here on the way to WA also. They refuse to take reservations for dinner so yet again both stays a long wait. Why fully book if you do not have staff to support it! The restaurant manager laughing told a person at the bar after answering a call and saying "we don't take dinner reservations" that she must get 28 calls a day with that same question! While the setting is beautiful the situation is not.

We have stayed here before and loved it ...Not this time !!! We used to live here and it was the place to go ... sadly so far we are not having a very good experience in fact it's terrible !!! The room is ok but definitely their worst ones ! But mostly the customer service is terrible ... the people are rude ... both at the front desk and in the restaurant... not helpful in any way ! Of coarse they blame every thing on covid though where we are from ... everything is pretty much back to normal ... we will definite need to look elsewhere !!! The smell especially in the restaurant is terrible

Meh. This was a nice place a long time ago. View of the river are wonderful. However, that's where it stops. It's noisy. You can hear absolutely everything going on in every room around you- upstairs, in the hall, in the next room, on the pathway.... The carpets are old and stained. The room had three towels and no soap. There was zero housekeeping (they said this is due to covid- but wasn't true at other hotels), the gym was completely closed they said due to covid-19( but this was not an outside at others hotels in the same night), the restaurant had just a few items, despite

Not sure they are meeting the basic requirements to be open during a pandemic! Or really anytime!
I had to switch rooms twice. The first room had a strange hair in the shower, gunk on the walls, sticky floors..
The next room was even worse! Taped up sliding glass door... vomit in the toilet hinge! Water spots on the counters! I went downstairs to let them know. They sent someone back to reclean and fix sliding glass door. When I came back to the room I ask Hans to do a walk through with me. He said that there wasn't vomit in the toilet that it was RED toilet bowl cleaner! Please?!

Terrible customer service
The manager Hans Stromsnes continued to mock me as I was walking away.
For some reason became almost violent when I showed him what the Priceline quote was... Refused to match it so I purchased it right there as he mocked me.
It was truly just disrespectful.
Room stinks.
View is terrible
Bad vibes

Staying here was a dream...
We frequent Eugene and this is one of my favorite places to stay. It is a convenient location next to many eateries and a shopping mall with in a short walking distance. It is gorgeous when you first step inside. There is a beautiful wood trim and a large chandelier above. The 2nd floor is open to look up at. A small game area that includes a ping pong table as you pass by to your room. I like staying here because Valley River Inn has a pool, hot tub, the game area, Sweet Waters restaurant on the 1st floor, and most important, it is PET FRIENDLY. Pets are not allowed

Upon check-in the front desk attendant Jovan doesn't have any idea about the worldwide pandemic and has absolutely no idea what steps the Valley River Inn has done to ensure a sanitized room ~ she insisted I wait until morning to speak with housekeeping... excuse me but you should know what's happening in the hotel - one needs to question whether or not it was a wise decision to choose to stay at the Valley River INN - I must say the rest of the staff including Hans was wonderful and Irene our waitress on the social distancing restaurant was wonderful -

Stayed here one night. Ate at the restaurant bar and saw literally a trail of sugar ants cruising across the bar top!
In the room the bed was comfy but found all my coffee was decaf and the hairdryer, which was a mount on the wall type, was not mounted - and had never BEEN mounted. Very difficult to use.
I should note I wish I had read earlier views but did not find any evidence of bugs or insects in my room.
