One of the cleanest, most dependable places to stay in the area. Safe, courteous- the staff, unlike most are all about customer service and yes- the customer (guest) is (almost) always right. I've been staying there for years and there's no reason for that to change.

The room was fine for the price, however, the shower's hot water in room 220 did not work. As soon as we would turn the hot water on the shower would loose all flow power. When I spoke to the workers they refused to connect me with a manger and told me that I would be receiving a phone call back (which has yet to happen). There are better options around than this place !

Clean, cheap, and quiet. Hotel room was great for the price. Bed was comfortable and clean. Functional bathroom with a clean shower. Only stayed a night, but would definitely stay again and 100% recommend.

Clean and inexpensive rooms. What more could you ask for. Walking distance from pizza and coffee or store for snacks. They have a pool and a small parking lot but are helpful

I have stayed in hotels all around the world, nice ones and cheap ones, but this hotel by far is the worst experience I've ever had. The customer service was absolutely horrible! Then they demanded a $250 deposit for a room that costs $50. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, and I've never had another hotel anywhere charge me that kind of deposit. They also refused to let me cancel the reservation once I was informed about the deposit, but of course there was no mention of it when I initially booked the room. I certainly wouldn't have made the reservation

Perfect little place to stay the night. Very cheap for what you get and just cheap in general. Room was clean and area was quiet. Can’t speak to the location being near things as we didn’t do anything in the area. However, the neighborhood didn’t seem bad. Staff was friendly. Recommend for a quick stay if you are just passing through or not staying very long.

Non smoking room smelled like cigarette smoke. Likely because the "designated smoking area" just outside the room. People parked outside the room playing stereos late at night smoking. Extraordinarily poor parking lot layout. The staff was "distant" at best, unfriendly at worst. You get a very unwelcome feeling the moment you check in with giant sign stating they are authorizing $250 over your rate in order to capture other costs. A list of charges next to that detailing how much you are being charged for every little item if they go missing. Makes you hesitant to use the "complimentary" coffee

Oh my gosh I am so disappointed in this hotel or should I say motel. This is my 3rd or 4th time staying there and by far the worst. I typically don't write Yelp reviews good or bad, but this hotel needs to definitely step up their game big time especially for what they charge. The best and only good thing about this hotel is the location. During my last stay, which was June 19th until the 22nd, I reserved a king bed and got a queen, the room smelled like old cigarette smoke and now all of my clothes do as well, the carpet had an iron burn mark and from reading a review from a year ago was

The manager. When I checked in it was a long wait because the manager was being disrespectful and mean to another customer. After waiting 15 minutes it was my turn. I was thinking maybe the manager had been putting up with a lot already so tried being extra nice. Nope, the manager is just rude and should NOT be in a customer service position.
All of the systems are antiquated. I made reservations for one night through booking.com. When I realized I needed to stay two nights I tried calling the motel a week prior to add a night. They would not do that, said it had to be through booking.com. So

I booked at this establishment on about a weeks notice and the host's were very amicable and accommodating. Although check-in was long, the host handled our group with care. Our stay was quick but cozy! Warm showers, comfy beds, and a nice warm breakfast in the Eugene chill. Local to the University of Oregon, even if you are staying just one night you can see a few things about the town. Great place to stay, very considerate staff, and a great time!

The staff were wonderful, and they sure helped out - with the broken coffee pot, leaky faucet, frozen refrigerator, door key not working... I still loved my little suite with bed, love chair, and coffee table, and would probably book again.

Angela at the front desk was wonderful

I can't give this a place a 5 star rating just because it's not a 5 star place. All o can tell you is the computers were down and this angel named (Angela) still managed to get me in my room so I could sleep after a long day. She made my experience here wonderful. Thank you. Rooms are average, air conditioner nobs were broken but I was still able to make it work. Room was kept clean and bathroom was nice. Still can't say enough about the front desk person on staff.

What a horrible nightmare this place was. James was a total nightmare and not very well at customer service. He was straight up lying about "federal" regulations about running cards.

My best friend was in town for my wedding. Her husband used his card to hold the room. She came by herself. When she got there, he stated the person on the card was the one who had to check in "it was federal law". I know this is straight up a lie, in my business we rent rooms for people ALL the time, not always with the same person card who needs it.

When I brought this up, he threaten to kick

I was hesitant to book a room with this hotel, as I worried that the overall value would be super low seeing how it is an older property that is not branded. However, this place exceeded my expectations. I had the pleasure of being helped by James, who made me feel more like a guest at a friend's home rather than another customer at some hotel. He was delightful, warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating and helpful. James proved maintaining customer service as a top priority makes all the difference in the world and truly skyrockets the overall value and experience. I will most certainly

The rooms were nice. Clean, comfy bed. We stayed 4 nights while we were between apartments.

ONE STAR because we were charged our complete fee for the four nights ($315)...THEN a MYSTERY FEE of $250 appeared as pending on my credit card. WHAT! They already had their complete rental fee for the 4 nights. They said it was a "holding fee". Holding fee for WHAT, when they already had their payment. Called our bank, and they said that University Inn has to REVERSE the charge, because its pending to be posted. If they only CANCEL the charge, it will take a few days to get that "holding

Why only one star? Well the bed was comfy....
We arrived after a very long drive.. looking forward to a hot shower and relaxing... Well instead we had ice cold water for a shower and no water pressure..I called for help... a day later here we are freezing and really wishing we could shower.. Front desk tells us they can't get ahold of management... By now many other visitors are complaining as well..
it's move in weekend for UOFO so wouldn't you think this hotel would be wanting to make a good impression?
On top of that our closet was full of clothes.. and not ours..

We had been shut down finding a hotel in Eugene on a Sunday night (5/14/17) and finally found a 'deal' at $85.00 on bookings.com - Apparently there was some big college battle thing going on....so when we found the University Inn had 1 room, on a late rainy night after driving up from Shasta Lake- this stop was super comfy, with all the amenities we wanted in addition to a free breakfast, nice strong shower (pressure- surprising how many hotels have trickles of water & you can't even wash your hair)! The customer service was top notch. I had wanted to swim in the morning-

Staffs are ostensibly polite, but if you run into any issue. The level of prevarication is obnoxious. Walk away and camp out if you need to. First of all, the hotel should dismiss the manager immediately. Why? The inn only has a thin layer of bed cover. It's too cold (I woke up twice because of the low temp) not to turn on the AC. However, the AC units are good old window-unit with nerve-racking loud noise. You can, without any exaggeration, hear the next doors AC. And stupid enough, they have the unit (in some rooms) right above your head. Second, during my visit there was a concert in town

Surprisingly pleasant stay for the rate.

Friendly staff, nice, clean room, smooth check in and out.

Got what I assume was a special rate by booking online through a third party website. The website claimed we were getting a decent discount, which could have been based on the late hour at which I made the res.

Room appeared to be recently remodeled.
Bathroom counter, desk, TV stand etc all in what seemed like relatively new condition.

Wasn't expecting a lot for the price, but ended up very satisfied.

My experience here can be summed up in one word.

Disappointing.

First off, the bathroom is ridiculously small. The shower was barely usable. The knob was clearly not functioning properly because the water would alternate randomly from cold to hot as I turned it, regardless of direction. The water pressure was really low. I clearly wasn't the only one with these issues since I overheard the lady at the counter discussing the same problems with another customer.

Breakfast is free and lasts till 9:30 am. We were there at 9:00 am, and all that was left were some bagels, a few muffins, and

This place is far underrated. I've been on a long road trip, and stayed at a lot of cheap hotels, and the U Inn and Suites is far better than many more expensive places so far on the trip.

Biggest pros: Super friendly staff and great location. It's less than a stone's throw from campus, and the night staff and morning staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

The kid on the night shift made an error with the reservation, but was quick to correct it, and in doing so, gave us a free upgrade. They also give great recommendations if you need help getting around or finding attractions
