We had reservations to stay at the Inn on Desert Mountain. A few hours before we arrived, the Inn called and said they had to book us into the West Street Hotel because of a plumbing issue. We arrived after a very long day of driving and were given a large sub-terranium room with a partial view of the parking lot and almost no lighting. We assumed the hotel was full and didn't complain. The room backed up to the elevator which we could hear and across from the Fitness Center with very loud doors. (Do you know how early some people like to work out?) We were assured that our room included breakfast

The room and the view from the 4th floor are spectacular. Nice furniture, comfortable bed, stylish bathroom. All the common areas are very nice. Each floor has a section where you can get coffee and others, an apple. Outraged by their Resort Fee. They don't need to do that, it seems to me it's highway robbery.

Good Hotel, good service, good staff, great location, but the rate is NOT stable.
I booked one king to 2 queens Ocean view, Wednesday to Friday after the Labor Day. My rate is $829+ tax and Fee. Their website is $696. The same type of room with $133 difference.
Because it’s our last night and it’s raining outside, we have 3 kids staying at hotel with very limited space, so I tried to see if I could possible to switch to a 2 bedroom with living room space, I checked it on hotel website with only $755 per night, which is cheaper than my current room rate. Spoke to the staff and she talked to

One of two of the town’s most immaculate hotels to spend time at near the waterfront. The only hotel in the state of Maine with a rooftop pool and the staff is always on point. Richard at the desk has excellent advice and knowledge of the area as a local. Paddy’s, the attached restaurant is high quality, and great for a meal regardless of the time of day.

I can not say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was super friendly, and the hotel was top notch. I think it has to be one of the nicest in the area. The view was fantastic especially from the pool area. My floor had a complimentary water, coffee snd tea station.
The only thing I would recommend to the staff is a garbage can out front prior to entering other then that it can’t get much better. It’s in a perfect location. Oh and West Street I noticed the difference in the one number in my hallway. Ha!

Fantastic location and view from the room with our own balcony. Beautiful rooftop space. Very comfortable bed. We had a refrigerator in the room, which I didn't see mentioned anywhere online.
I wish the check-in process mentioned more (anything?) about the amenities over at the Bar Harbor Club down the street.
The walls had some serious wear (dents and scuffs) in one place from people pushing chairs into them. The sink was full of small black stains. On-site parking was easy and a great perk, but the card reader to enter is mounted at a height for very tall vehicles. Quibbles perhaps, but for

This is a wonderful little hotel overlooking the incredible bay of Bar Harbour. Close to everything, it is a delightful place to stay to enjoy all Bar Harbour has to offer (from shopping to whales). The staff is awesome! Kate was our concierge and so helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. We loved everyone from the cleaning staff, to the front desk personnel. The view from the top of the building by the endless pool is better than any other! We highly recommend this lovely place and found it to be well worth the money. Also, don't miss eating at Paddy's next door, or shopping at the Bamboo Store or

I highly recommend the West Street Hotel in Beautiful Bar Harbor. The staff are fabulous, rooms gorgeous and very comfortable. The hotel has lovely water views as well as offers guests several dining options. The roof top pool is great! Each floor has coffee, fresh fruit and bottled water for guests. And for dog lovers, an adorable yellow lab will make an occasional appearance in the lobby!! We loved it and can’t wait to return.
