0/5. Whoever the grandma is that works in the lobby need to be fired and put on the streets. She has 0 respect for anybody and will take your money and refuse to give it back. Me and my legal team are looking to file a lawsuit against this woman. For a hole in the wall motel I guess this is what to expect. Pay a little more for the best western next store, Trust me it’s worth it

It's cheap place. Price is cheap, but it's sketchy. I rented it once and since then avoided it. I usually don't rate places 1 star unless I hate it. I rented a single queen bedroom with my partner and they charged us an extra $120 because the housekeeper said broke their ac/ heater. We literally just walked out of the room and into the lobby and they weren't in a call with the housekeeper too. We were customers who were blamed and charged to pay a fee not made by us.
If you book this place, I recommend checking the room thoroughly in detailed, if you see anything wrong or weird with your room

I didn't have any major issues there. Comfortable pillows and bed. It was a last minute trip and the best price I could find for a decent room. A safe 17 minute walk to the boardwalk. The room wasn't ready when I got there but just a short wait to get one. No breakfast but they have coffee in at the desk. Clean room and decent water pressure. I would stay there again for a 1 maybe 2 day trip.

The Islander Motel has everything I needed. It's clean and comfortable. The room is decently sized. There is a table and chairs by the window so you can sit and catch cool breezes. The bed is very, very comfortable and the motel is pretty quiet. The location is perfect and convenient to everything Santa Cruz has to offer. I would definitely recommend this place.
