Mixon Liquor & Deli
We have a selection of fine wines, liquor and a variety of craft, import and domestic beers. Our deli boasts some of the best sandwiches in San Diego, along with a full soup and salad bar where you can dine inside or out. Catering is available to many downtown businesses. Our #1 goal here at Mixon Liquor & Deli is for our customers to experience a TASTE BUD EXPLOSION when biting into one of our signature deli sandwiches.

Personal favorites are #3 The Construction, #5 The Meter Feeder and #1 The ABC. You can also build your own. Many of our customers travel up to 20 miles for one of our signature deli sandwiches. Just wait until you try one of our sandwiches! We have been serving San Diego for 4 generations since 1933.

Man I miss this place. They make a great sandwich. Used to go here for lunch when I worked a block away. The Construction sandwich. If I recall it's number 3. What ever it is, it's good.

The sandwiches are huge, and delicious. You practically have to unhinge your jaw to eat it. And for the price, that's a steal.

Went in to get a sandwich today as I've done many times before. Ordered a high rise on wheat. The worker who took my order was wearing a mask and gloves so I'm thinking they're following guidelines. He proceeds to take my order down using a pen and receipt book. Hands me my receipt to take to the cashier. He then starts to make my sandwich using the same gloves he just touched the pen, counter, and register with. I attempted to voice my concerns with the gentleman at the front counter. He then became rude saying that he didn't want to except my complaint. I the told the other

Don't let the rough putter shell of this place fool you. hands down the best deli sandwiches in town. Generous with the meat, cut the fresh avocado in front of you for every sandwich, bread is always fresh and they are fast, even during the Downtown lunch rush. less than ten bucks gets you a turkey cheese sandwich loaded with avocado, bacon (properly cooked) and fresh sprouts.
They aren't open past 3 or on weekends, so get there early!

I called in a phone order for a breakfast burrito. I walked in just to see my eggs coming out of a microwave (yum) the tortilla was as generic as they come and the cheese was similar to craft singles. You might be wondering and yes I ate some of it but couldn't finish it, I just knew a stomach ache was to follow. Ooh yea water dropped out of my burrito (probably from the microwaved eggs)

The construction with pepper jack in lieu of cheddar on marbled rye is still going strong! I love that when I call in my order it is always ready by the time they quote (it is usually under 10 minutes).

I guess come here for the sandwiches. That's all they offer. I was trying to keep it low carb and a coworker recommended it to me...and it was his treat. I got the soup and salad. It was ok. The soup was cold and they had to microwave it. Enough said

This is a solid liquor store / deli. The couple who owns it are cool to me. And the sandwiches are good, honest, quality working man sandwiches. (I like the roast beef, I think Bankers Special.) Check it out!

Pretty weak for liquor store. You cannot buy individual beers,IPA's, wine in smaller bottles, no mixed drinks, etc. you can get bigger packs of cans & 6 packs of bottles but I think they try to limit the homeless coming here so they don't carry certain cheaper items.

I am not homeless but sometimes a girl just wants to drink a beer. Instead I bought a 2 pack of cookies for $2. I guess that will do for now...

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside they have great sandwiches, with a small salad bar. They also sell liquor, chips, and things like that. Service was quick, my sandwich was packed, and I was full.

Possibly the worst sandwich I've ever had, "The Construction" is drenched in mayo and with bacon strips that were so rubbery I couldn't eat them. If i wasn't so hungry I would not have eaten the rest of the sandwich, which even after wiping off the excess mayonnaise still tasted like just one ingredient: mayo.

It's a sad day when I have to write a negative Yelp review. C'est la vie.

I needed some breakfast and where else would I look besides in the back of a liquor store? We just made breakfast by about five minutes as they cut it off at 11:00. The guy at the counter was pretty friendly, but the woman he gave the order to was a mean old lady. She knew exactly what he wrote, but insisted he write out the words instead of abbreviating them. It's not like she was super busy and was going to forget. We were the only customers at the time.

I had ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with your choice of three items. I decided on ham, sausage, and cheese. It was
