This place used to be great but how things have changed...
This place it total chaos. When I was there getting pre surgery blood work and vaccines, it was as if the doctor hadn't even read my dogs chart and just wanted to push as much extra unnecessary stuff on me as possible. The doctor was so unprofessional and admitted to giving sub-par medical advice. You can't make this stuff up!
Anyway, go here if you don't mind being ripped off by a money hungry management that puts the importance of the dollar above that of your pets health. They will smile in your face and are a very nice

I had an emergency with the cat that adopted me. His left front paw became too painful for him to walk upon. I had no experience with Companion at all, but that will change. Cookie is not the easiest kitty to deal with but they handled him extremely well. They prescribed medication for the infection in his paw and the affects of it are already apparent. Everything about the experience was wonderful (apart from the hurt kitty). I would fully recommend Companion Animal Hospital of Vernon Hills to anyone looking for a great veterinarian.

As a new patient, Miss Dixie, my 2-year old Yorkie/poo, was confused by the vet, building, etc. Bobby immediately made her fill comfortable and when Dr. Morton came in she accepted kisses from Dixie. They recorded her vaccine info from our former vet, updated the new RX and gave Dixie a quick check over. I am thrilled that we have found a wonderful vet and tech in our new hometown.

This was my first visit. My dog is super excited when visiting new places. Companion Animal Hospital was immensely patient. When I called letting them know, they booked me for a slightly longer appointment to give him more time to settle before the appointment. They had so many different strategies to help keep him calm, scents, making sure there were no other dogs around while I walked him to the room, and a vet tech who was incredibly calm and knew how to interact with my dog to keep him calm. After 10 minutes of excitement, he sat and then laid down, and was calm the entire rest of the appointment

NOT ACCOMMODATING AT ALL. I called ahead to let them know that I would be 10 minutes late and they made me reschedule completely. I was PISSED because not only am I pregnant but I was already on my way so I had to turn around and go back home. I called their round lake location to see if they had anything last minute (they didn't which was not round lake locations fault) but even THEIR receptionist said "I can't believe they made you reschedule". Thank you to Doctor Scott and the rest of the absolutely wonderful staff here. They were so kind and even though so incredibly busy, squeezed me in so that my sweet girl could be as comfortable as possible due to an infection in her nipple. I was informed and at ease knowing my girl was in good hands at Companion Animal Hospital Vernon Hills! They truly made this so much less traumatic for both myself and Leia and I can't thank them enough for that. ❤

I firmly believe this clinic saved our dog. After she began exhibiting very acute and concerning symptoms, the staff here -- both vets and technicians -- were compassionate and thorough in evaluating her. Ultimately, they determined through a very specific test that she has a disease that is totally manageable but dangerous and potentially fatal if left unaddressed. Here you'll find people who will care for your pet like one of their own. I highly recommend them.

We needed a vet that specializes in caring for bunnies. Companion Animal Hospital got us an appointment the next day and, even though they’re doing “curbside” visits due to Covid, Dr. Koza spent a lot of time… discussing our bunny’s condition with us. The staff was friendly and very accommodating, and it was much less expensive than I expected. Our bunny’s doing great and they even called to check on him.

I took my Maine Coon cat to their hospital and they administered unnecessary vaccine shots which he did not need, they later acknowledged it and told me it will be waived off but 6 months later I received an invoice with finance charges added to it. When I tried to speak with the hospital manager she was rude and unhelpful told me that she will… report me to the collections agent for $37.90. Not sure how this con-business has survived this long in a neighborhood like Vernon Hills. If you care about the wellbeing of your pets please do not take them here or else you would be writing a long

Their text scheduling tool doesn't seem to work. Twice now we have confirmed via that text process for appts., both times we were told we didn't have an appointment and were turned away. Also, taking almost 3-4 weeks to receive Bravecto for my puppy through their online ordering solution is unacceptable as well. Further, for some reason, my puppy is very anxious and scared when he comes to their office. We don't have this issue with any other providers, such as the daycare, groomer, neighbors, etc. I feel like the vets could take more time getting to "know" my animal and

Great staff! So friendly and always get the best response time for appts and check ups. The place is always so clean, never smells or has even dust or pet hair on the floors or in exam rooms.
The doctors, nurses, and receptionists are so kind and welcoming. Their hours are great, the building is easy to get in and out of and there's always been ample parking when I've visited.

I have to take my dog monthly for a steroid shot due to her allergies. I love my vet but it's just too far to drive every month so I have looked up this place on yelp and saw that it had five stars. I saw the little welcome sign for my dog and the staff is super friendly and the doctor is very knowledgeable. She's going to mix up the medication and give her something a little bit more gentle on her system but hopefully it will work! I appreciate how thorough she was. Then I got the bill and it was a LOT MORE than my current vet. Ouch. She did change the injection that she usually gets

Companion Animal Hospital is the best find I have ever made in Chicago, I had been with the same vet for many years but sadly they started to change and not for the better. I have a dog who has many health issues, he was a rescue and was very badly abused. He is very fearful of people he doesn't know and will occasionally fear bite when he is stressed or in pain. Because his major health issue is a collapsing tracea he also has a difficult time breathing if muzzled. This presents a lot of difficulty in try to get him treated. But along cane Dr Lin who I feel is the real life dog whisperer

Ever since I was little girl, I always wanted a dog but due to my pet allergies I never could. With help my allergies shots and my immunologist, I was finally able to manage my allergies and have a pup of my… own. It took me countless doctor's visits to get me where I am now. That being said, I can be very dramatic and nervous when my pup gets sick. Arrow has sensitive tummy ever since I brought him home. Dr. Lin never lost his patience with me especially when I am asking 10000 questions every vet's visit. I did see Dr. Williamson once and he was very knowledgeable and friendly to answer

Dr Lin! Dr.Lin!! He is the best vet I ever met. Their whole hospital staff is very friendly and always willing to work with you. I always get a follow-up call from Dr Lin making sure that my pup is feeling better. I know the vet price can be expensive but their price is very reasonable. I would recommend this place to any pup parents!!!

We initially took our pup to a local vet because we had moved. Big mistake. Recently our 7-month old lab mix was very sick. We took him to Companion as we had previously gone there before we moved. Dr. Lin and the entire staff showed genuine concern for our pup and he was better in less than 24 hours. Thank you Companion for not just taking good care of Remington, but for caring so much about him!!!

Hard to express how grateful I am to have experienced above and beyond customer service. It's one thing to receive good and efficient service but when you have people who seem to genuinely care - then it makes a world of difference.
Six days ago I had to take our family dog of 11 years to this hospital to be put to sleep to end his pain. It was a very difficult family decision but had to be done. I started bringing my dogs to Companion Animal Hospital about a year ago after being displeased with the vet that I had been taking them to since moving to the area 4 years ago. The staff here is absolutely amazing and has always been more than understanding of my complete emotional meltdowns every time I think one of my dogs is dying from cancer (turned out to be a fat lump) or my dog has to have a tooth removed during routine dental cleanings (she's 13 and a chihuahua, I'm not really sure what I expect). The prices are very reasonable here, and they're always upfront about costs

This is the only place I want to take my dogs to be seen. The staff here is always so professional and friendly, and they always write my digs name on a little white board with a treat! I have taken 2 of my dogs here to get fixed and they did a great job with the spay and neuter. I am completely comfortable with them seeing and taking care of my dogs.

I wanted to take time to give a review for this clinic. What Dr. Williamson and Kelly did today for my wife and I went so far above and beyond what is expected of a vet, the respect that they showed to us and our dog was so unexpected (should not have been as they have always been amazing).
If you are searching for a clinic that takes great pride and compassion in their work you have found it. I can not say enough good things about them.

We adopted our Husky mix puppy from a shelter in IL, and part of the adoption fee included a voucher for her spay and rabies shot from Companion. I drove in from Milwaukee to Vernon Hills for the procedure. They were very friendly, they had checked in with me a few times by phone before the operation itself, and they made sure we knew what to expect during and after it was done.
Our pup was pretty much back to normal behavior two days afterwards and she made it through recovery just fine, so I'm very happy with the care and work they provided.
