You can't drive down Melrose Avenue near Wilton Place in Hollywood without noticing the beautiful red brick building on the corner. LAX is 17.4 miles from our hotel. Hotel contracts with taxi service that can provide transportation from LAX to our hotel for a flat fee of $80.00 and from our hotel to LAX for $65.00. This "HISTORIC" hotel has no "HEAT". All of the rooms are provided with "SPACE" heaters. The room I was assigned had very high ceilings which means it took quite sometime for the room to warm up. After complaining about the room being cold the staff provided 3 space heaters on 3 seperate ocassions because each time, they did not work. We finally decided to cancel the remaining days on the reservation and find another hotel that provides heat. In California during the month of December it gets quite cold at night...?

The room was great and the employees even better. For the price it was well worth the security and comfort. Hollywood was crazy and I had a great time chopping it up with the front desk lady and the parking guys about our experiences. The hotel is almost 100 years old and it was cool to see all the historic art around the place. Thanks Historic Hollywood!

What a lovely hotel! Hollywood itself was disappointing and the area surrounding the hotel was unattractive (there is a nice view of the Hollywood sign on the distance!) but we were so happy to return to our good-sized room and very comfortable king bed with our bag of InNOut burgers and relax while watching TV. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean, remarkably so for such an old building. The architecture and interior details were amazing. Hollywood history is strong here!
