RENTER BEWARE! Believe the poor reviews! Safety is a huge issue at TJ. The advertised gated parking and controlled building access does not and has not been functional for months. Management and maintenance are unresponsive except to reply to Google reviews. Please also be aware that this management company does not background check maintenance staff, yet background checks tenants. There is often pet and human urine and feces at the entrances of the building and even in the elevator at times. Anyone can access and roam the floors at all times of the day and night. DO NOT RENT HERE!

In the past year of living at the TJ Tower there has been a steep decline in professionalism of management and safety of the property. Upon moving here, management was friendly and attentive. In the recent months, management has become almost nonexistent unless it consists of leaving unprofessional flyers throughout the building. Most recently, we were notified that the building would no longer have security with flyers with an image of a grim reaper in our elevators. Not only was this unprofessional, but also alarming due to the fact that our “secured” and gated parking lot has been broken

Good luck reaching management. Very unresponsive property management. I’ve only been living here about 5 days and there is so much bad I can say about this place but I am holding out hope that they will fix my issues and that I can update my review with more positive remarks in the future.

This is the worst amount of money I have wasted. How can you offer and provide insurance and then when it’s time for a claim they don’t pay. Due to building being old my unit was rained in for 6 months and I’ve lost over 8k in replacing items my family has been hospitalized for mold and now they are still giving me the run around. The staff is not the best don’t waste your time. No one has an answer for this and this is just the tip off the iceberg I have given them an ample amount of time to make right. I will keep you guys updated

My husband and I really wanted to like this place-- great location, neat history, and apartments with character. Unfortunately, 5 months later, we regret our decision. Here are things I wish I had known:
--Electricity is unbelievably expensive. we live in the smallest apartment (electric bills are calculated by sq. ft.), and last month, just our electricity bill was $200!!!
--Safety and smells. Not only do the elevators break down often, but to get to your car, you have to walk through an alley full of trash. Speaking of parking-- the lot costs $150/month, but it completely open and unregulated

Dear Sir:
I am a tenant in apartment #1704 of the Thomas Jefferson Tower located in Birmingham, AL. I have a management service and maintenance concern that I'd like to share and hopefully receive a response from someone who can address my concerns or, at least, provide a response that does not delay action on the issues.
First, I have experienced rainwater pouring into my apartment since January. It has occurred on four (4) separate occasions, and I have submitted maintenance requests to the apartment building management team since the first occurrence in January. There is initial, temporary

The staff is kind, but very inexperienced. Among the many disappointments and headaches of a recent family wedding, the STAFF CUT THE WEDDING CAKE AND SERVED IT TO GUESTS BEFORE THE BRIDE AND GROOM HAD THEIR CAKE CUTTING CEREMONY! It's a moment that they can never get back and is heartbreaking. Even if you aren't paying attention to the wedding, It's obvious if a cake has not been cut yet.
The venue also had water all over the floor from leaking windows, no maintenance personnel on staff and was unorganized. Security is non existent.

I've lived here for two years, and it's been a wonderful home for me. The office staff and maintenance team are extraordinarily accommodating. The manager is constantly looking for new ways to bring people together through events or new accommodations. It's the first place I've lived where I've felt that management genuinely cared about the wellbeing of its' residents. Great location and access to the city.
