Steven Rice Fitness provides customized personal training services to individual and group clients in Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Los Altos, emphasizing functional strength, mobility, corrective exercise, and High Intensity Interval Training. Clients benefit by developing more strength, moving more freely, experiencing less pain, improving their endurance, gaining energy, losing weight, and achieving better overall health.

One of the greatest benefits of exercise is increasing strength. Ideally the strength isn't arbitrary numbers in the gym though- It also improves your ability move and perform in the world outside the gym. Functional Strength Training builds real, full-body, and multi-directional strength useful in both everyday life and sports.

Functional Strength Training is about developing strength, balance, endurance, and power that enhance your life outside the gym. Unlike other forms of exercise that only make you better at doing the exercises themselves, Functional Strength Training improves your physical abilities for both everyday life and athletic pursuits.
Enjoy and be motivated by having your training outdoors in a local park. Creative use of park features and lots of room to move make your workout fun and challenging. You can even bring your dog. Equipment provided includes kettlebells, suspension gear(like TRX), weighted clubs(like clubbells), medicine balls, and resistance bands.

Steven will train you in a way that is custom-tailored to address your weaknesses.
I highly recommend him for curing neck and back pain so you won't even need a chiropractor.
He uses tools such as clubs, maces, and stretch bands and will show you innovative workouts that you won't learn anywhere else.
He constantly introduces variety to make your body bend and twist in new ways -- focusing on hinges and ball joints.
Our bodies have so much versatility and flexibility that we never use. I have learned some fundamental things about body movement from him. The workouts and stretches he has shown

I found Steven Rice through a friend who was training with him at the University Club in Palo Alto, California. Steven is an intelligent man who loves fitness and training. I have been training with him for more than one year. Initially, I was tired after our workouts and thought Steven was pushing me too hard. Now I understand that he was trying to help me improve my level of fitness, and I believe I have improved. I can do things now that I could not have done a year ago, and that my appearance is more "fit". I recommend Steven without reservation.

I found Steven Rice fitness because I was looking for a trainer who was well educated in injury recovery. I have a shoulder injury and working out with Steven has made a huge difference. I have gained a lot more mobility in my shoulder and also confidence that my shoulder can do more movements then I thought it could! I also enjoy that we do our workouts outside at the park and not in a gym. He never pushes his agenda or dietary beliefs on you which is a nice change from most typical trainers who want you to eat, sleep, and train exactly like they do. I would highly recommend Steven Rice Fitness

Steven is a dynamo! I did his leverage club workout and was extremely impressed with his ability to work well with people of all fitness levels. He knows his stuff, he's passionate about fitness, and a lot of fun to work with. He puts you at ease and uses positive reinforcement to encourage you to dig deep. I recommend him highly! I'm looking forward to more of his workshops.
