We have lived at Monterey Ranch for almost a year. Our experience started out very rocky to say the least! The property did not escape the terrible freeze that paralyzed most of Austin with broken water pipes, maintenance delays and severe impact to the lovely grounds. The staff was overwhelmed in all areas, mailboxes were vandalized and problems just seemed to mount! Thankfully, there’s a happy ending to all the chaos that trademarked the early months of our lease. A new Community Manager was transferred to the property and things quickly changed. Where do I begin… did you know that you can have a marked handicapped parking space that isn’t wide enough for Any vehicles? And when you complain they add a shiny new Sign. That’s what they focus on here, the outside places you won’t be living in. They have updated everything except for where you will actually be living. Office- updated for staff that doesn’t know their head from their… foot. The gym is updated, that only took 75% of my lease to accomplish, and the grounds are kept cut. The management is worst. The people in the office don’t send official notices beforehand for water shutdowns. They just shut off the water without any notices and this is the second time in the last two months the water has been shut off.

By far, the worst apartments i have ever livedin. Ive lived in almost 10 different apartments, and this is number 1 on the list for worst apartments ever lived in. They never tell you that you have to pay $75 on top of your rent for cable after you sign your lease, eventhough we dont use cable, every resident has to pay this fee. They are so disorganized that they charged us for not haveing HO4, even though these are requirments upon moving in, so when i proved to them that i had HO4 upon move-in and sent it to policy validator , they still refused to credit me the fee. Horrible living experience. Do not move here. So glad we only signed for 6 months.

- PAPER THIN WALLS (Can't stress this enough if you're going to live under someone or a family).
- Roaches everywhere, good luck.
- Outdated apartments, the only thing updated in this complex is the leasing office and GYM.

Don't live here at this apartment complex. It has been over three months and I still don't have my deposit back. This place is sketchy. I never did get to see the apartment that I would be living in. I went back and forth with Yvette. She kept going around in circles with approval and not approved with co signer and then approved without co signing. I asked if I could come see the apartment and that was ignored. She didn't let me know until the day before I was suppose to come pick up my keys that I needed to make more money. I already signed the lease, had my lights turned on and mail forward

We love our new apartment, the property, the amenities, and Molly who was super helpful and kind during the move-in process. The only reason I did not give five stars is that it takes forever like weeks for a maintenance request to be resolved. There are also some issues with what seems like rushed renovations. Our dishwasher hits the side of the pantry so we cannot open it all the way. The same issue with a drawer in our kitchen, it is not installed properly so it is hard to open and it also hits the pantry. There are also a lot of spaces where bugs are coming in because of holes in the walls

Terrible place to live, they just show you the amenities that recently got remodel but in reality you’re paying so much for something you never really enjoy or be able to use. The club house is always close and if you ever want to use the place after office hours they kick you out. The apartments are the worst quality I’ve ever seen so overpriced for the cheap materials they used, terrible lighting. It’s such a big property that the office staff is not enough to help you in case you need them. If your contract is coming to an end you MUST let them know 2 months in advance otherwise they will

I scheduled a tour online and had to wait 20 minutes when I got there on-time for someone to start the tour. The amenities look great there but I feel like the pictures online and all that distract from the lackluster apartments. The one they took me to was dull and old for the price. Apparently there are some apartments that are not renovated and some that are. The place didn't even come with a washer and dryer like the website advertised. I don't care if you have 8 pools, just get me a community laundry room!

DO NOT MOVE HERE!! For your safety and that of your family do not move here. The apartments are infested with MOLD! When I moved in (in June) there was visible mold in the bathroom, the apartment smelled like mold, and there was a reoccurring water leak in my shower. They told me it was my fault for not having the fan on while I showered. NO. I asked to be let out of my lease or at least move me to a new unit since they obviously weren't going to fix this one. They told me "I don't meet the requirements." My cat almost died because of this disgusting place I was forced to live

You should write not "saving energy" but Austin energy has a program where you guys get property tax rebates - DO NOT FOOL folks here! This is the same as what you guys did for valet trash and see the photo - how beautiful and well-maintained trash is now!

This place is getting horrible to live by each passing day. I have posted a review earlier as well but there was no action taken by the management. No help from them at all! Recently, there was a severe water leakage into my apartment due to fire on the floor above me. No fault of mine, my apartment was a mess and my personal property was damaged beyond repairs. It was a huge loss for me. They, Monterey management, didn't help me in anyway. My unit was a mess for weeks. I reached out to everyone but here at Monterey Ranch/ Regional Office but here no one pays attention to tenants problems

I would have preferred giving 0 stars for this Community. Management don't bother about residents anymore, they are just after money, this time they installed black screens for every window so that they would get rebate from Austin City.
These black screens are just darkening the whole home, making the life disgusting. Past 2 years they are hard forcing on residents on every service like Internet, trash etc. But i couldn't tolerate this change of installing blind screens, when they are responsible for stopping the natural resources like sunlight entering my home. I am a resident of Monterey Ranch Apartments. Recently, management made the decision to install new sun shades on all of the units. Now that the shades have been installed, me and other residents have voiced several concerns about the tint darkness to no avail. The new shade tint was chosen without our input and as a result are EXTREMELY dark. I spoke with management and was told that over 15 residents besides myself have voiced this concern in the two day period they've been installed (only half of the units have these shades installed at the time of this review).

Honestly, I have loved living at Monterey Ranch until very recently. The team decided to let Austin Energy install solar screens to the exterior of each apartment window. While this sounds like a great improvement and a potential cost savings by reducing heat coming in from the sun, in my opinion, it's the worst thing they could have done. These solar screens are made of a heavy, dark mesh which clearly reduce glare and rays coming in, which is the problem. It has stopped virtually any natural light to enter. Monterey ranch has installed near-blackout "solar screens" on all the windows that previously had nice light screens on only half the window. These new dark shades have turned all the apartments into a sad, dark cave - even in broad daylight. Now I need to have my lights turned on when it is sunny outside. These screens are not "energy saving" because I need to have my lights on whenever I'm in the apartment to have proper light to do anything, especially in the kitchen at the back of the apartment. We cannot remove these screens either, they will just screw them back in

My review is a bit overdue. I was looking for a place late July early August. Needed 2 bed apt. Called the office and made an appt to look at 2 apts that were available. Drove to the office at the designated time. Turned out the girl was still at lunch. Had to wait about 30 min in the car. Then got the keys( front office didn't even bother to show me the apts) One apt was locked and none of the 2 key didn't fit. Second apt was so dirty and smelly with stains in the carpet still. Bad experience. Could tell the apt wasn't even cleaned up.Very cheap interior. Horrible service. Definitely

One of the world places in Austin, TX to live. From the real estate agent to the front office; they feed you lies. The model apartment is nothing like what you get. We were told we would have a remodeled unit with lights and new appliances. None of our rooms have lights. Upon calling weeks after weeks the Manager, Tamara told us she would "try" to get us something that was promised to us. They scam you into signing a lease. The electrical outlets are falling out of the walls. Our patio door looks like it was eaten by a dog, the dishwasher comes out of the wood. It's a crap hole.

I am continually unimpressed and frustrated with the services this apartment complex offers. I have not been able to get anyone on the phone for over 6 months. I have been a resident here for over 2 years and mostly that is because they have so many loopholes in their lease that it is nearly impossible to leave without paying the $2000 broken lease agreement - even if you request to leave 2 months before your lease expires! I have reported toilet water is overflowing issue. They did not fixed it 2 days and I have to wait 3 more days as They do not have plumber in their community. Now i have to stay on hotel for these days.
I would never come back here or recommend.

Still have not heard back on my administration fee of $204.00 another day has gone by and no return call on message left, no answer of phones all day and no money back into my account... I will be reporting this community for holding our administration fee after denial... The denial was fine and actually worked out in our better favor, but it's STEALING when you keep money that is supposed to be returned and I want my money back.... I've lived here for a 1.5 years and so far have not had any issues that would cause me to leave a bad review, so I'm giving it 5 stars because I've always felt apartment community reviews were negatively biased (most people have a fine experience but don't leave a review).

My unit has been calm and quiet, rent is easy to pay, maintenance is easy to request and is very prompt. One particular maintenance staff member (Jose) usually gets assigned to my tickets and he always goes above and beyond.
