I feel very unsafe in this place. Management has no empathy.
They Break lease rules quite often, but will write you up for things not even in lease. Also, false alarms have gone off 100 + times in 2 1/2 years. These are sirens are at least 100 decibels which can easyly cause hear loss. There is one in each bedroom and up down the halls you must walk through to get out. They say it is wake people up ??????Well by the time you are in the hall, I guess you are in the halls. The walls are thin as cardboard with little to no insulation.

I lived here for two years moved in 3 months after it opened..I loved it..I was on the third floor, And did not have any problems, only one bad neighbor but there is always One Bad Apple in the bunch right!!! The grounds are well-manicured, the residents are awesome, the only negative I can say is the owners out in California really need to find a good management company to handle the kinks that still need to be worked out due to a new building and all it's codes..

Apartment are brand new..and very small and cozy.. layout is actually different from the pics or floor plans shown..
*one bed one bath..only entrance thru bedroom.
*You will need a stackable washer and dryer..the cheapest are $1200..that we have found.
*Who offers washer dryer connections..but stackable only.. yeesh ..?
Staff are very nice!!
*.2nd and 3rd floors no carpet only vinyl plank floors. Not sure how noise is going to be ?
* much needed senior housing... hopefully will be a good decision to move there for me.
* pool..weight room. Yoga room..

I understand that there are always going to be some complaints, especially in regards to apartments - however, while there have been a few issues (as there always are with a new development), my overall experience has been positive. My boyfriend's mother was able to move into a brand new, affordable apartment - something we were not able to afford for her anywhere else. The apartment is spacious and fairly modern, and every time we have visited, the building is very quiet. Compared to other senior living apartments we visited, this has been a wonderful experience. She has enjoyed meeting other

I referred a number of my acquaintances to this complex, and I thank God only 4 of them moved in here. Over the past two weeks I visited each of them at El Sereno along with a number of other residents. This place is unbelievable. Aesthetically the apartments are lovely. However, it was reported to me by these residents that there are multiple problems with the building in general.
1. As I stepped out a door leading to the courtyard there appeared to be what looked like crumbing or chunks of cement outside the door.
2. At least 3 residents reported water leaks in their apartments, from where

I am enjoying my stay here. Staff are professional and building is well managed.
As we move through the new construction phase and finalizing details, I am excited about the plans in the works.
Looking forward to a positive life experience at El Sereno and the possibilities it has to offer me, as well as, what I can offer my Community.

Like Lindie, I don't think they have earned even one star. Many of the things others posted here is what I observed when I visited my long time friend.
In addition, there is no free wifi access as they boast on their website. I was in the building on 3 occasions when the elevators stopped working. The only public transportation is a number of senior transport services, and Uber, maybe Lyft, none of which are reasonable for someone living on social security.
I tried to post without a star but site will not allow it, therefore I will grudgingly give them one star which they have not earned.

Horrible design for senior living.. residents are expected to use front or far back entrance with very limited parking in front (staff takes up a few of the 12 spots). Seniors must park on side of building and expected to walk all the way to front entrance then back through the long hall to their apartments. Doors on side of building keep them out with no keys or access cards to get in. Too dangerous for elderly. Staff is rude and can careless.. put blame on city since they approved the design.
