If I could give a place negative stars, this would be the place.

We were kicked out of the pool for "being too loud" before the pool was closed. The pool has signs up saying it's open 9AM-10PM and me and my girlfriend were swimming at around 8:45-9:15. I work 5-6 days a week so finding days to spend time and go swimming with my partner can be hard. We don't like being kicked out of the pool when we finally get time to go, we aren't breaking any rules and we pay to stay here. We should be able to use the pool until the time it's closed and not be harassed and watched

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! PLEASE READ ABOUT MANAGEMENT. They LIE!!

My partner and I sent an application on 1/28/2021 and received an email from Antoinette on 2/3/2021 saying they had limited staff and have not processed our applications yet.

My partner and I found a better living situation and let Antoinette know 2/10/2021 that we will not be moving forward with the lease.

TELL ME WHY Antoinette has her community director, Sandre Nelson, reach out to me directly and tells me we are basically bound to pay rent March 1st if they aren't able to find someone to take over the unit, because WE SUPPOSEDLY

If I could give this place negative stars, I would.

My friend and I moved into J street apartments fall of 2018, and at first it seemed okay. My first impression of this place was good because the room tour that management showed us was nice and clean and there was little to nothing to complain about. When we actually moved into our unit, it wasn't the best kept place. Throughout the year we lived there, we noticed some flaws about this unit. Our bathtub would always get clogged, our blinds did not open, mold started to form in our bathroom and bedroom among other things shorty after moving

Update: found a dead squirrel in the washer/dryer room and they did in fact raise the rent 100 dollars to next year to 1800: not worth it and there's no way I could stay here another year lol. Also, the WiFi randomly stopped working in the middle of the year so my housemate had to get a whole new router and now has to pay an extra 50 a month for that. and our water for the shower barely gets warm. Would not recommend!!!

This place's maintenance is really bad. The rent is not so bad but they will not return your deposits if that is what you hope you will get back.

I lived here for 2 years and I only lived at J street because rent was cheaper than other place. Once I was able to afford a better place I moved out. The property manager was rude and mean. She tried to charge us for a late fee when she had no right to do so. I had to bring out the terms in the contract stating that I had made the cut off of the due date. She refused to apologize or acknowledge that she was ever wrong. She did eventually reverse the fee after I had to call the actual management company. They also had a mold issue. I had brought it up before but they ignored me and said it was

Pros:
- Location.
- Provides a roof, walls, and a floor.
- Soft serve ice cream anytime if you get a broken fridge like me.

Cons:
- Maintenance is awful.
- No 24/hour laundry or fitness center. (It was when I first moved in.)
- Parking is bad.
- Never know if you will have ice if you get a broken fridge like me.
- Rarely anyone in office during their office hours.

So where do I begin?

Maintenance. It's pretty awful. They will do whatever they can to not fix whatever is broken and if they do, their maintenance guy will blame you regardless of the situation.

My fridge was broken the entire

Ignore all decent ratings this horrific place has received. The only reason we lived here for one year was because when coming to Davis there were slim pickings in the area, and we were desperate. In a two bedroom upstairs oven, our unit did not even have numbers to indicate it was ours, the doors are made of glorified styrofoam (we know this because both our front door and our bathroom door had large holes in them), and the windows are maybe half a pane. The appliances are nowhere near reasonably updated, the "A/C units" skyrocketed our PG&E bill, and frankly everything about this

Thoughts on J Street Apts by topic:

AC wall units. In our 2 bedroom place, there are tiny wall units in the front room and back bedroom. It would stink to live in the middle room with only a ceiling fan, especially because Davis is an oven in the summer. If you rent a 1-room place, the AC unit is in the front room (living room) and not the bedroom. Also unfortunate.

Parking. It's advertised as free parking, but often the central parking lot gets filled (it's pretty small) and you have to park on the street. There are adjacent parking lots on the ends of the property. They do have decals

This is the loudest, unpeaceful apartment you will ever live in. The trains, oh the trains! And the landscaping lawnmowers and blower before 9am outside your paper thin walls. Managment needs to fix the noise problem!

Ive lived a lot of places and am by no means sensitive to noise. But this place is the worst, even worse than living in civic center SF. Don't move in -- you will regret it. Guaranteed.

This is the noisiest apartment you will ever live in. You may think oh theres a train track nearby, no big deal, they allow pets. Think again. This apartment is the site used for train maintenance work. Read cutting and pounding of metal at all hours. The trains do not simply go by. They stop. And the emit the most excruciating sounds. As if the little engine that could was being beaten and crucified right outside your apartment on a daily basis.

You might think that management, given that their building is on the cite of a train yard would attempt to minimize the sound. To the contrary, every

I lived here in a one-bedroom with my girlfriend and our three guinea pigs/rabbit for a year after graduating from UCD. I think we lucked out with out apartment choice because it was on the second floor, right under a HUGE tree - so it was always slightly cooler in our apartment compared to the outside for the most part (but of course, summer is scorching no matter what). The floor plan itself was standard (kitchen, living room, master bedroom, bathroom), but our bedroom had two closets - and one was a walk-in! Our room was also pretty huge too (we could fit two twin beds, two pretty large desks
