Dr. Garro grew up in NJ. She has always had a huge love for all types of animals, rescuing anything she could including dogs, cats, squirrels, and even raccoons. Another passion of hers is riding horses. She has competed in show jumping for over 20 years. Dr. Garro attended undergraduate school at Cook College, Rutgers University.
Surgery, including soft tissue surgeries, spays, neuters, mass removals, as well as orthopedic surgeries and more. Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
At Butler Veterinary Hospital our goal and commitment has always been to assemble a veterinary health care team devoted to providing exceptional medical care and great client service. We listen to each individual pet owner's concerns and provide customized care plans that work for our clients and their beloved family members.

My dog was recently treated for pancreatitis by Dr. Dawn Garro and honestly 10/10 service and compassion. Not only did she treat my dog like one of her own but she throughly explained to me every treatment possible and held my hand the entire way while my baby was hospitalized there for the day. She gave me an estimate so there were no surprises and was extremely reasonable and very understanding of my situation. I would recommend her to everyone and anyone. Hands down the best veterinarian I’ve ever brought my pets to !

We have had nothing but unbelievable care from from the Doctors to the staff. To know we have Doctors who want the best for our dogs as much as we do, is priceless. Dr. Garro and Dr Barbaris have shown in just the 1yr that we’ve been patients, that this is not their job, but a passion and determination to make a difference. I’ve been taking my dog to Butler Veterinary Hospital since I got her in October 2020. They have always been friendly, caring and excited to see my dog come in. The staff is attentive and they know each and every animal that comes in there as if it’s their own. They are there for a quick phone call with questions and concerns, or if you need an emergency appointment. I always feel comfortable and trusting of Dr. Garro’s and the staffs directions and treatments.

I was there for the first time this past week. Unfortunately, it was a sad appointment as my cat had to be put to sleep. However, the vet and staff were so thorough and compassionate. She made sure that she felt that there was not anything truly to be done, made her comfort with the decision obvious and therefore made us comfortable with the decision. The process was done with care and respect toward our pet and ourselves. Thank you to all of them.

A real refreshing experience on taking a pet to the vet. Dr. Dawn Garro surpassed our expectations. We took our cat regarding eye issues he had that wasn't going away. She took the time to come out and explain the situation and give us a solution and recommend an ophthalmologist. Our pets are part of our lives and it's nice when a doctor genuinely cares. So excited I don't have to keep searching for a place i feel comfortable to take my pet.

I have been bringing my dog to Butler Vet for over three years. Over the course of the 3 years, Dr Garro and staff have gone above and beyond taking care of my dog, and supporting me throughout the years. She was so kind to me and my dog. Mojo was diagnosed with Addisons Disease, over a year ago. Dr. Garro gave me all of my options, and answered any questions I had, she gave me printed out copies of the options I had. This is by far one of the BEST Veterinary offices I've ever brought my pets to! Honestly from the moment I met Dr. Garro, I knew I was in the presence of a warm heart and exceptional medical mind. I've been using Butler Vet for a year now and feel comfortable giving them a nod of approval. Before I even became a pet owner, I contacted the office to solicit information about pet insurance, which Dr. Garro responded to quickly with great information. I brought my pup in for his first visit the same week we picked him up and he's been well taken care of ever since. They saw him through all of his first shots and checkups, making sure to smother him with attention and treats every time. I can't say enough kind things about Dr. Walker and the staff at Butler Animal hospital. Our cat had a lot of anxiety about leaving the house to go to the vet, and was not always the most pleasant to deal with. They handled her with such compassion and care that I knew we had made the right choice to switch vets. Our cat was very old, and when it was time to say good bye they were nice enough to make a house call so it would be the most comfortable situation for our cat. My dog has been a patient of Dr. Garro for over eight years. Dr. Garro is not only a very caring veterinarian but an excellent diagnostician. All procedures carefully explained, support every step of the way, interdisciplinary opinions part of the care. Immaculate state of the art hospital facility. Not pleased with this hospital at all. As a new pet owner, I felt like I was taken advantage of--always asking how much the visit would cost, letting the technicians know that I was on a budget, and being blindsided with the bill at the end of the visit. When I noticed my pet getting sick after she ate, I brought her in and was given a bunch of medicine and prescription food that didn't help, so I asked my local pet food store and they were able to determine that it was simply that she didn't need to be on puppy food anymore. Dr Garro and staff are just so caring and you couldn't ask for a better veterinary doctor to take care of your pet. My cat was very I'll and they did what they could to help her until we found out it was kidney failure. They're really caring and Dr Garro is very straight forward with you. After I had to put my pet down they sent a really nice sympathy card signed by the entire staff. I'm thankful I had them to help me through the rough time.

Dr Garro and the staff at Butler Veterinary Hospital are wonderful. They are kind and understanding and explain everything in great detail, while also answering all of our questions. Our pet had cancer. They provided us with all the information and options available so we could make a family decision on what was best for our pet. Over a year later our beloved dog is doing great.
