Every class is more than the postures. Diego helps us to connect to our inner wisdom through the breath in order to live a more full and whole life. Diego brings ancient techniques to students and makes them accessible so that we may release stress and any obstacles to our own healing. The simplest and most complex teachings are available through Diego's expert guidance. It is a true blessing to be in the presence of a gifted teacher who has devoted his life to sharing oneness through yoga. I am so grateful for Diego Del Sol!

SO i joined Yoga del sol only now, in a v-mode. WHAT an amazing experience. DIego is leading the classes and handles the virtual practice so well, connects with people, gives us advice in a gentle but clear way and i already have improved a number of poses and exercises.

i only can highly recommend

The Best quarantine Zoom yoga class ever! A must for everyone who is stressed and needing yoga. Diego's focus on peace and strength and inner contentment is a fantastic elixir for this time. Each class leaves me calm and hope-filled and feeling strong. Thank you Diego for your Zoom classes! They're saving the day for me! Amy

Do not go to this studio. The owner is a bully with a God complex. He does not allow modifications, even though the movements he teaches are not yogic. He asked us to start class by throwing our arms around in big circles, doing fast wrist circles and some sort of knee circles. When I moved more slowly and deliberately he came over and scolded me. His cues were confusing and difficult to follow and when I did chaturanga instead of some hybrid cobra he cued very poorly (until your knees kiss?) he literally stopped class and came over to yell at me. When I said I was experienced at yoga

I have been to many different yoga classes in D.C., but none come to close to yoga at this studio. When in the class, it is easy to experience a state of mental relaxation, positivity, and presence that is difficult to capture in most other yoga classes. The flow is meditative and yet challenging and restorative, all at the same time. Diego and the other instructors are encouraging and offer useful suggestions so everyone can get the most out of the practice. If you are ready for a break from the many other uninspired and monotonous yoga classes in the city and come with an open mind and willingness

I strongly agree with the two other 1-star reviews below. So surprised to see so many 5 star reviews! I'm guessing they are his regulars. The style of the owner is not what I expect from a good, student-focused studio. Disappointing really b/c it is so close to my home. Very strange experience during a weekday lunchtime session. I think the owner/teacher was thrown off that someone outside his regular crowd was there midday? The group seemed to be all regulars. I really wanted to enjoy myself during my lunch break and relax, do my own thing, but he quickly called me out in front of the class

Each class is an experience of near perfection with Diego being the sole reason for quality yoga. Diego's focus on each and every student in helping them along their journey is a rare ability that he gladly shares. No class is the same but each class ends in our being happy we were there. Our recent retreat was a showcase in thoughtful execution, from the stunning retreat's location and quality of staff and facilities to the commraderi built through masterful guidance from Diego. In our opinion, the best studio in Georgetown. Robert and Carol.

I've been attending Yoga del sol since November of 2017. I love the space; it's very beautifully designed, lots of natural light. I chose Yoga del sol because I think Diego is a remarkable teacher. He's incredibly intuitive, and he has an amazing way of getting you to progress from simple movements to more complex movements all the while relaxing more and more. I have grown so much in my practice through Diego's guidance, in particular mentally, and I attribute it to Diego's teaching style. He has a direct and inspirational way of getting you to focus. I recommend the studio

Yoga del Sol is the finest, most serious, most humane, and challenging studio I have ever encountered--after lots of exploration. Diego is a profoundly intuitive teacher; his individual immersion classes are transformative. The group classes, while offering surprises in the particulars, are always in harmony with studio's philosophy, pedagogy and practice. That is to say: you work hard and feel joy! After class, I feel both energized and at peace. The studio itself is tranquil, airy, and contemplative.
I have also taken classes with the other teachers--Sarah, Suriya, and Marina--who are all

Calm & empowering movement mediation. Diego teaches through simple & pure, yet potent & satisfying connections that bring out the joy of unity within. Both mind & body are refreshed energized after class.

Update:
In addition to Diego, there are other excellent instructors who teach his style with their own personalities. Sarah is a pre & post natal expert, Suriya is an organic goodness, Maryna is sweet & soothing.

I was inspired to write this long overdue review after co-workers and I got to talking about our experiences with yoga.

Imagine me -- a first time yoga student trying something new. Yay!
No. I get into the class -- a beginniners mind you -- and Mr. Diego Del Sol locks in on me. He tells me I'm distracted. "Shawn, get back in the room we feel you're not in the room." You know what's distracting? You calling me out in front of the entire class when I'm just trying to figure out where to put my hands and feet and breathe. Sure, it was probably obvious I was a newbie

Incredible, transcending and healing. Diego's simplistic approach to instructing is exactly what over over complex world needs. He is incredibly intuitive and misses nothing. I really enjoyed having a class with my daughter at Yoga Del Sol, while visiting. Thank you, Diego, for your care and wisdom.

Loved Yoga Del Sila's ambiance; it is so peaceful and calming. I felt safe to expand and deepen in my practice. I took Kateleen's Wednesday evening class and loved it!! The energy and music was fun and her instructions easily digestible. She made inversions approachable (for me who has never really done many). She was so encouraging and created a safe environment allowing all of us the expand and deepen our practice.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at this studio. I've taken classes here throughout the past few months. I usually go to Diego's classes because I know that he is an excellent teacher, however I have tried one of the other teachers and found her to be great as well. I think that it is rare to find a studio that teaches yoga in not just the physical, but mental sense. It seems like you can go to any neighborhood in DC and find a "yoga" class that will have hip-hop music blasting and the instructors encouraging you to sweat as much as possible. While I also find those

Wonderful studio - now my favorite in DC. I recently started attending Diego's classes through ClassPass and am so glad to have found my way to Yoga del Sol. It's a beautiful space with big windows, hardwood floors, and lots of natural light. The 6 pm weekday classes have never been overcrowded. Diego is a sensitive, intuitive teacher; he makes you push yourself, but the hard work is worth it. I also appreciate the time and attention paid to breathing and meditation in addition to a challenging physical practice. I've learned more in a handful of Diego's classes than I have

This studio is five star for valid reasons. I have been attending weekend classes for a couple of months now, on ClassPass. There is ample free street parking on Sunday mornings around the studio. It's tucked up above street level shops. The studio is warm, inviting and has very strong positive energy. There is a clean restroom, a changing room and a small nook with great complimentary hot tea and water to enjoy before and after class. The studio itself is beautiful with hardwood flooring and exposed brick. The front of the room has great big windows facing lush trees and impeccably kept living

Being on Class Pass, I have been to almost every yoga studio in the city and this studio is by far MY FAVORITE. The actual studio itself is stunning - big open space that you never need to worry about others injecting into your space. Every class expect something new. All the instructors are awesome but Diego takes the class to another level. First off, he teaches you how to properly vinyassana - he will go back to the basics and make sure every little muscle is working the way it is supposed to be for a very fulfilling class. I've never head a teacher who has done that. He really cares about

I've done yoga since 2001 and completed a Yoga Alliance teacher training.
I met Diego in 2007 in San Francisco and went to his classes 3x/week. I was hooked! I then did an intensive one on one training with him about a year later. This training helped me decide to do the certified teacher training, among other things. His teaching is so unique and genuine. Diego truly wants to help because he is a gifted and inspiring teacher. His draw on ancient texts is something you don't find anymore. His style is extremely approachable and down-to-earth.
I have family in DC so I've been to

I looked on yelp when first deciding to sign up for one of Diego's classes. I immediately thought he either a) has a lot of friends on yelp or b) he really is that good. Thankfully, it was the latter.
The studio is incredibly serene and the atmosphere is set up to allow you to relax and focus on the time you have put aside. I am by no means a yogi, but I would definitely say that this was my time to enjoy my practice.
This was the first yoga class in a long time that had me smiling, concentrating, and really pushing myself into poses. Diego is hands on and wants to make sure that you are not

Yoga Del Sol is hands down the best yoga studio I've ever been to. I've been doing yoga now for 6+ years off and on and found the owner Diego to be one of the most caring instructors. He's listen to my body aches and pains (I have a small scoliosis), he helped me work through movements and gave recommendations on things I personally need to continue to work on to enhance my own practice.

Diego's 30,000+ hours of instruction experience is evident. The well manicured studio and well thought out touches throughout (beautiful bamboo floors, orchids in huge picture windows, soft
